First time staying here and what a great experience. We stayed 11 nights and appreciated the level asphalt pad and huge yard. Sites are nicely spaced and most are separated by dense vegetation. There are nicely maintained marked trails with lots of wildlife (especially deer) to see. There were lots of activities planned for the weekend (but we didn't partake due to conflicting plans) and sadly there was a "avoid all contact with water - algae toxins at unsafe levels" posted at the beach. Obviously not the park's fault. Although not the highlight of any campground, this dump station was outstanding. Not only did they have the usual amenities but there were sewer hoses already installed so you don't have to unload your own. And you could even top off your tires with compressed air. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

As we came in from the west we drove through an incredible mix of industry and building projects and at first we worried this park would be in the industrial section of town, but that was not the case. The park is very large and beautiful. Along the shores of Lake Erie it has a very large beach area. Park service sign in was very pleasant and easy. Our site, 084, was large, back in and so much area, it was big enough to throw frisbees for the dogs. All sites are back in and as others have mentioned, each site is separated by some trees and bushes. We were close to the restroom/showers which were clean. There were plenty of walking trails to walk the dogs. Although there were no playgrounds, there was the beach and safe roads for biking. We paid $29.00 on line for our site plus an $8.00 reservation fee. With no one behind us we were able to sit and watch the butterflies in the large meadow. No wifi but good Verizon service and OTA TV. I felt the size of the site, clean area, and overall beauty of the park were well worth what we paid. We were here only one night but will try to come back again to explore the area. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped in a 40ft Super C motorhome. There are only 35 50 amp sites in the park of which 26 are in loop 1 which is the nicest sites in the park. All pads are asphalt and as close to level as I have seen. The sites are very spacious and are separated from your neighbors by trees and high brush. The park has paved bike trails and numerous hiking trails. The down side at this time of year is that the park beaches may be closed due to algae blooms in Lake Erie We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

We are camping here for a week. One of the nicest parks we've been to. It's a very well kept and beautifully manicured campground. They do themes every week. This week is Christmas in July. There is Christmas stuff everywhere as you enter the park. I was told Santa is making an appearance at each campsite this weekend. The kid in me is excited! I have a long Christmas list this year! They've left a few shrubs and taller bushes between each site for privacy. Lots of space at each camp site. We have electric but no water or sewer. The restrooms/showers are nice and clean and free. Laundry room is clean. Bring quarters! No change machine. Lake, golf, lodge, and museum all the grounds. Lake Erie 5 mins away. Looked like a great place to put out kayaks till we say how nasty the water looked along Maumee Beach. It looks like green paint rolling in. We saw people windsurfing. Several folks were flying kites on the beach. Lots of bird watching if that's your thing. They rent bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards at fair prices. They have firewood and a store when you first enter park. Excellent place for families, groups, or solos. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

Loving National Parks we visited River Raisin Battlefield Park and Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial at Put in Bay. Put in Bay is a neat little area with lots of things to see and do. It's a 15 or so minute ferry ride from Catawba but well worth the trip.

This was our favorite spot so far. Each space has trees on the side making it feel incredibly private. Very quite. Great, paved, bike trails to the beach. Note the Lake Erie has algae and is a blue green water - can swim but you don’t want to swallow or get it on your mouth. Overall great time, we only stayed one night but wished it was longer. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Maumee Bay State Park is one of the nicer state parks in Ohio that we've stayed at - and we've camped at roughly a dozen of them. Cannot stress how nice the sites are; easy in/out because of the cul-de-sac format. Grown vegetation/hedgerows provide privacy between all sites. Grass mowed; the grounds are maintained well. Paved pads that are level and plenty long (we have a 26 ft trailer). Paved bicycle trails throughout the park with several ponds; runs parallel to Lake Erie. Nice nature center for the kids with a boardwalk. You can fish in a pond at the nature center; rangers (very helpful) will provide bait and reels if you need them. Very active park hosts that provide ice cream socials and donut breakfasts on weekends. Shower houses/restrooms are clean but not immaculate - good by state park standards. The park is just minutes from a drive-in movie theatre, restaurants, Walmart, etc.; about 25 minutes to the Toledo Zoo and shopping. Give this place a try if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed! We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The park, and the campground within it, are both top-shelf. The state of Ohio has certainly done a great job here. Everything is clean and well manicured. The park has lots of amenities including golf, tennis, pickleball, hiking, swimming (on Lake Erie and also an inland lake), bike rental, etc. The camp sites (gated from the rest of the park and only open to campers) are all back-in but otherwise very well laid-out. Lots of foliage between sites, so it is often difficult to see the campers next to you. Sites have tables and fire rings. Pets allowed. Sites do NOT have water or sewer; so fill your fresh water holding tank on the way in, and dump black and grey tanks on the way out. TV reception is very good with a boosted antenna. Cell service excellent. No wifi, but l'm guessing you can get it if you go to the Lodge. Highly recommended. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This has long been a favorite campground for us but we have not been there for over 5 years. Everything we like about this State Park is still there with even some improvements. The campground now offers some 50 amp sites. They still do not have water or sewer at the sites, however. Each site is large and private. Along with your RV, a tent is also allowed on your site. The sites are separated from each other by bushes and trees so you hardly know that you have neighbors. Our site was absolutely level and was big enough for two RV's. Some sites are even larger. We were separated by our neighbors by a line of bushes and trees. The only RV's we could see were across from us. There are many walking and biking paths in the State Park. Everything is no longer than 1 1/2 mile away. There is at least a half mile of beach right on Lake Erie as well as an inland water spot for the smallest of children that is fed by lake water. The park also boasts an 18 hole golf course, nature trail, cottages for rent. marina, and lodge with meals, rooms, and gift shop. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

If you really have to leave the campground to go shopping or find a restaurant, there are plenty of places less than 15 minutes away on s.r. 2. Just head west on rte. 2 and you'll find them all.

What a pleasant state park! Asphalt roads, plenty of trees and greenery between sites and a large grassy area at each site. Very private campsites. Electric only but come prepared for that and it's a wonderful place to stay. We were pleased to find out at check-in that they are in the process of adding 50 amp and that some sites already have it. It isn't listed on the website but they are sites 1-29 and 96-100. I don't know how soon they will add more. We did not use the restrooms. Nice bike paths in the park. Our site 14 faced north and had trees providing shade in the afternoon. Some sites have more shade than others but you can see that on the website. Plenty of grass at the sites and around the park for dogs. No wifi but Verizon hotspot worked fine. Lots of OTA channels. We did not even try satellite for our 2 night stay. I gave it a 9 instead of 10 only because they don't have full hook-ups but what they do have is awesome. We would return. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed at the park, the sites were nice, our problem is we were unable to use the lodge pool or other recreational things! The lake water had the green algae bloom all over it, there were signs posted that it was not safe to swim. We love to swim and for 5 days we're unable to do so! Also the receptionist behind the desk was rude to both my husband and me. We've been to other state parks and we're allowed to use the lodge pools when we camped. Not a good camping trip! This is a beautiful state park. The sites are large with plenty of grass between sites and shrubs for privacy. Our site 79 was next to a water spigot which was very convenient. Park staff and the volunteers were excellent. No tree cover so satellite reception was good, t-mobile required a booster. I concur with previous reviews regarding hiking, biking and beach.
