Our first stay with our new (to us) trailer. Burns Run West was a very nice first experience and place to try out the trailer. Reservations were easy to make on line, the park was clean and the location is good with Denison, TX only about 15 minutes away. As has been mentioned, B loop sites have a great view right on the lake but are a little closer together. Not bad though, I see many sites where you barely have enough room to extend your awning, even here there is a good bit of room. Several dump stations are located throughout the park. Sites in "C" loop include sewer. Our site had electricity and water. It rained all day on Saturday so we didn't see our neighbors very much! Check out time is 4 pm, check in is 5 pm. Arrive the day before so you can enjoy the entire day at the park or wait until late in the day to check in. We checked in Thursday evening and checked out about 3:30 on Sunday. Extra tip: Denison is about 15 minutes away and you can find many restaurants, shopping, etc. there just in case you need something. We camped at Burns Run West in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is the biggest COE campground on Lake Texoma. The grounds are very well maintained but the sites are very close together except the full hookup sites away from the lake in the trees. Our site, B11, was right on the water but with no direct access. It was somewhat shaded and although very close to our next door neighbors, was very nice with table and fire pit. The swimming beach is very nice near the entrance to the campground and there is another beach area near the sites, although its location on a major part of the lake would make it difficult to swim due to boat traffic and waves. We were there for Labor Day weekend when the campground was full but once folks left, there were very few campers and it was very quiet. We would return to this campground again when in the area. The sites along the road in the B area are very close together but right on the water. One complaint was that people drove their vehicles way too fast on that stretch of road by those sites. Would suggest the campground put in some speed bumps. We camped at Burns Run West in a Motorhome.

What a fantastic park! BRW is VERY well maintained. We were in C09 and it was so level we never had to unhook. There was not a bad RV spot in the park. Community restrooms/shower house were very clean and well maintained as well. The pull through RV spots offered a lot of room between you and the next RV which was very nice and something you do not often find and all spots were mostly shaded. We enjoyed the multiple access spots to the beach/lake. Very nice playground and sand volleyball court. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We camped at Burns Run West in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a fantastic park. The grounds are clean and well kept. The sites on the interior of the C loop are large and well separated. The only small negative we have is that there are no paper towels or hand driers in the restrooms. We camped at Burns Run West in a Fifth Wheel.

Outstanding pull thru full hookup sites with 50 amp power, concrete pads with large concrete patio, very nice table, grill, and fire ring. Sites are 100' or more apart. Other very nice water/electric only sites that back up to a nice lake view. Park is well maintained and kept clean. We camped at Burns Run West in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice lakefront campground with some extra long full hookup, pull through sites and some nice, no-sewer sites backed up to the lake with great sunsets. Pulled up without reservations but the host gave us some options and we really enjoyed our stay. Nice trees provide shade from the summer heat. A really nice COE campground! We camped at Burns Run West in a Fifth Wheel.

The parks is large, and laid out in various loops. Our site was semi-level, but manageable. Some sites have the picnic table and fire ring on the back side of the site (which is odd) . Take plenty of water hose, and maybe extra power cable... you may need it. The "D" loop was a mad house. Cars everywhere, tents everywhere, and people walking through the sites. The music and festivities usually quieted down around midnight. If you're hoping for a nice quiet get away: I'd definitely recommend avoiding this loop on a holiday weekend. (It was Memorial Day) However, the park is nice, and C and E loops seemed much more subdued than where we were. This was a last minute reservation and this was the last site available. However, it was much preferable than sitting at home. We booked a different site for Labor Day. We camped at Burns Run West in a Travel Trailer.

Burns Run West is a Corps of Engineers park on Lake Texoma near Cartwright, OK. It has 105 water and electric sites, of which 21 are full hookup sites (sewer, 50/30/20 electric and wster). All full hookups sites are 80'+ pull throughs, with great shade, large patio with modern picnic tables, and utilities on concrete pads. Well designed sites. The other sites in the park are rough with 30A electric. Nice sand swim area, good bathroom/bathhouse facilities, playground and boat ramp. One of our favorite parks. We camped at Burns Run West in a Fifth Wheel.

For $10 a night, you will be hard pressed to find as nice a spot anywhere. We had full hookups and more than ample space between us and the next site. This was a pull-thru site that was probably about 80 ft long, level and concrete with an extended concrete patio. Lake Texhoma is beautiful and even with the hotter temps of July, it was comfortable thanks to the breeze coming off the lake. The park was clean, quiet and a much better value than the State Park just across the lake. We camped at Burns Run West in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow, what a great park. C Loop is where you want to be if you want 100' pull through sites with full hookups and very, very shady. Some of the best sites we've seen in a Corps park. There are 18 sites that are right on the water but they do not have full hookup and the water spigot is shared between two campsites so that one of you is going to have the water on the wrong side. Great sunsets over Lake Texoma. There is a playground by the swimming area but not near the campgrounds at all. Too bad because there is plenty of room for one. No nearby supermarkets, only large convenience stores. We camped at Burns Run West in a Fifth Wheel.
