This was a great park on the lake, plus they have two fishing ponds. There are all the amenities you expect from a resort, most of which we didn't use because of the time of year and a short stay. Even though we were fairly close to the main road in a pull-through, we didn't notice the noise that much. There was lots of space between campsites. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Eagles Landing Resort & Recreation (formerly Bears Den Resort) in a Motorhome.

While the grounds are well kept and there are several things to do, my big complaint is that the sites are from the 50's. There are only a few full pad sites. The rest are either grass or 2 concrete ramps about 12" wide. The big problem with the ramps though is that the ground around them has washed out and they are 3" to 4" off the ground. The sites are short and backing onto the ramps is difficult. Not to mention that if you are not exactly in the right place, your jacks end up half on concrete/half hanging mid air. All sites had pads for picnic tables but few had tables. You share water with another site and utilities are frequently a long way away. Be sure you have a lot of sewer hose because it takes at least 2 hoses if you get full hookups. Also BE AWARE, they charge you $20 if you try to check in before 3:00 and they charge $5 per person for outside visitors. They do not mention this on their website. In fact, they don't tell you when check in time is. I was surprised that, although the bathrooms were nice and updated, the stalls were small and there were no stall doors, only small, cheap shower curtains that didn't cover the opening. These were on toilets and showers. We will not be back. We camped at Eagles Landing Resort & Recreation (formerly Bears Den Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Said to be under new management as 'Eagles Landing'. A large, spacious venue for Class 'A' down to tenters. Clean and groomed, the new owner/managers are very friendly and helpful. 50 amp sites seem to be limited and out site was large enough but without shading. The situation of the property on the lake is perfectly beautiful. First row of sites by the gate are also beside the roadway with resultant traffic noise. Concrete pads but gravel roads. We would stay again. We camped at Eagles Landing Resort & Recreation (formerly Bears Den Resort) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We found this to be a very pleasant park for our style of motor home travel. Open grassy areas fringed with trees skirted several large ponds and a huge lake. While Bears Den appears to be an older park, we were informed it is under new ownership, and "sprucing up" work was going on all around us. We stayed for two nights before the summer season got rolling, so the park had very few campers in residence. The pool area was quite torn up for repairs, but a lot of painting and electrical work elsewhere in the park was progressing nicely. A long row of pine trees had recently been planted to provide a visual barrier to the close highway. Cable TV service was good. Marker flags indicated that new cable lines had just been laid prior to our arrival. Internet was only available at the clubhouse, but our own Verizon service worked fine. We recommend they add another entrance lane for the park so folks checking in do not block campers returning to their sites. We would love to return someday to check out future upgrades. We camped at Eagles Landing Resort & Recreation (formerly Bears Den Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We discovered a jog around the park's outer loop road was exactly one mile, and the birding while we ran was wonderful. We saw several scissor-tailed flycatchers, bluebirds, Baltimore orioles, killdeer, great blue herons, cormorants, red bellied woodpeckers, and numerous Canada geese with their goslings.

Rate is RPI. Site in the front of the Campground are concrete with pads. It has security gate. We had a nice wide spot & it was long enough for big rigs. We were close to the road & did hear traffic noise but it wasn't bad. There are sites by the lake that are Gravel & grass. Utilities good. No wifi at site but they are working on that. Very friendly people staff. If in the area we would stay again. We camped at Eagles Landing Resort & Recreation (formerly Bears Den Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice RV park. Paved main roads and loop roads with level grass and gravel sites with concrete parking strips and concrete patios. Large grass areas between each site and scattered large trees. Park well maintained. Weak but usable WiFi signal, FHU, good Verizon 4G, Direct satellite and TV antenna signals, cable TV, outdoor pool, mini golf, and rec center. Rental cabins. Direct access and marina directly into Grand Lake with several W & E sites very close to lake. Staff friendly and helpful. Public park that allows ROD, RPI, AOR and C2C. Would stay there again. We camped at Eagles Landing Resort & Recreation (formerly Bears Den Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

One of our ROD membership parks. Absolutely lovely peninsula surrounded by water on 3 sides. Weather perfect. Season over so no planned activities, but marvelous place to relax. Big grassy sites, scattered trees, cement pads. Could get satellite. Friendly staff. Limited full hook-up sites by road (not lake). Definitely would come here again this time of year. Very nice, friendly park. Large pull-through sites with concrete pads and a picnic table. Were pleased that, as ROD members, we were relegated to the back section. Nice lake with lots of white pelicans and ducks. We were here over Halloween and they had great activities for the kids, including trick-or-treating. We would stay here again. The sites near the road have sewer hookup, but if you're willing to forego the sewer hookup and use the dump station on the way out, the sites on the peninsula look out on the lake and Sailboat Bridge. There are a few large trees so you might get lucky and snag a shady spot. They are working on this park; hope to see improvements to these sites on the water as leveling the RV can be a challenge unless you're willing to park catywompous and forego the concrete pad at your RV door. There is a fishing hut, boat ramp, fish cleaning station, mini-golf, and it seems things are being spruced up. We paid nothing as an ROD member. This park had been badly neglected for a number of years. Now recently bought by Ocean Canyon Properties, which has a lot of work to do on site improvements, bath improvements, water faucets, etc. Again, great potential for OCP, and the future will tell. Spending a week here under ROD so there is no charge. We are in the front in a pull through site with FHU & 50 amp on a cement pad/patio. It's been raining a lot so we appreciate a high & dry (sort of) site. There is quite a bit of road noise from route 59. The office staff are extremely helpful & friendly. Been here before and will return. Nice laundry facility. Must use external antenna & amp for reliable Sprint cell and internet service. The park is popular on the weekends and thus becomes full of tents and children. There are very few sewered sites and the office staff isn't aware of where they are located. We found 5 that they were not aware of and were very gracious when we told them. The staff tries very hard to please the guests. The term resort is used rather loosely here. Our family would stay here on a short stay but not an extended stay. We camped at Eagles Landing Resort & Recreation (formerly Bears Den Resort) in a Motorhome.

Stayed here in a 5th wheel, using Resorts of Distinction. This is a membership park on the shores of The Grand Lake O' The Cherokees. Very clean park however some sites were flooded due to recent rains. Will definitely be back to his park. We camped at Eagles Landing Resort & Recreation (formerly Bears Den Resort) in a Motorhome.
