Very nice secluded park. Not big rig friendly but manageable. Attendant seemed to be new as we requested pull-thru site with 50 amp connection and was assigned back-in site with 30 amp connection. However, she did tell us to pick another site we liked better if so desired. We did select a pull-thru site with 50 amp connection, there were plenty of sites empty which made it easy to change. Bathrooms met satisfactory rating but could be better. Coin operated showers that could be improved also. Staff was very friendly. There are only three sites with full hookups. Attendant said they are reserved very quick and were occupied during our stay. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Motorhome.

We went here with our Girl Scout Troop, the owners now are amazing. This is no longer a State Park. The name is now Red Rock Adventure Park. We stayed in the Walnut Grove area, the bathrooms did not have showers in this area, but there are two shower houses in the park. They work very well with groups and youth groups as well. There is a nice shop and grill they just opened in September 2019. There is a pool that is very nice as well with rock wall, splash pad and two slides. There are several playgrounds. Lots of hiking trails and geocaches in the park. The museum in town is very nice as well. They are also starting to host events that should be fun as well on the weekends. While we were there they had live music and played a movie in the evening. The hill is steep going in, however we took our 32ft 5th wheel and had no issues. Scary looking at first, but no issues. There are two dump stations, one at the top of the hill by the entrance and another one down by the California Road campground. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Tent.

Stayed two nights at this nice little park. Entrance road is steep and winding and maybe too much so for long RVs (mine is 33 ft, no problem, unhooked toad). Very scenic. Primary activities are hiking and climbing/rappelling. Smallish pool closed Monday and Tuesday. A few nice restaurants in Hinton. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Motorhome.

The park sits in a canyon about 100 feet below the landscape level. It literally disappears into the ground. The road down to it is incredibly steep and windy, but short. They don't take reservations but if you can get them on the phone they will tell you what is available. The office was closed when we got in at 2pm. When you get in just choose a site and fill out an envelope, put your check or cash in it and drop it in one of several drop boxes through out the park. Incredibly simple. Our site had a view of very close vertical sandstone walls and a bubbling brook ran beside us. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

As many have already mentioned, this is a small park in a canyon near Hinton, OK. Positives: beautiful canyon. Several walking trails along the park and the upper rim. Restrooms are nice and pay showers are available. We were on a concrete pad making set up easy and quick. Negatives: they only keep 2 restrooms open during non-summer months. We camped in the middle, requiring us to pass the closed restrooms to get to the either the restroom at the beginning of the park or the end. Park is not family friendly. No quiet time in park. Lots of partying with complete with loud music, karaoke, and cursing until after 3AM. There may have been "other things" going on but we tried to ignore it as much as possible. Forget about a quiet night in the park. Takeaways - do not bring children. It is impossible to know if you will next to respectable campers or not. Campsites are way too close together for any privacy. If you are next to a party, it is impossible to not be right in the middle of it. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Tent Trailer.

This is a great little park with beautiful red rock canyon walls scenery and lots of places to hike. There was quite a bit of traffic through the campground even on weekdays when we were there. As others have mentioned, if you have dogs watch for lots of pickers, particular toward the south end. I imagine this place is quite crowded in nicer weather, summer. It is a little twisty road down into the small canyon, but not a problem unless you are a huge motor home and towing. If so, better unhook before going in. We would definitely stay here again. Won't duplicate earlier comments. Nice park. Very quiet while we were there but there are many drive-thrus. The road in and out is a challenge but doable even with our 40' motorhome. Just be sure to use a lead car to be sure you have use of the whole road. We stayed in the California loop with water and 30-amp electric. Tried using one of the full holy-up 50-amp sites in another loop but there was no power at any of the sites. Seldom anyone in the entrance office but rangers do patrol pretty regularly. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Motorhome.

One of the prettiest parks I've ever been in, and the rangers are so kind and friendly. The facilities are rather rustic, but if you're looking for quiet and beauty, this is a wonderful stop along your way. P.S. If you're headed to the showers TAKE QUARTERS!! This is a cute little state park a few miles off of I-40. It is set in a shallow canyon with red rock walls. We stayed in the California section of the park. They had nice large pull thru sites with electric and water. There was also 2 dump stations at the park. The campsite was level and I did not have to unhook my truck for the night. The restrooms were clean, the showers were hot and steamy. There was very little ventilation in the showers so when the hot water came on is was like a sauna. I kept it on Cold water when I took my shower. Oh and bring your quarters, it is a pay shower with the cost of 50 cents for 3 minutes. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

This is not a get away peaceful environment. While the rocks and hiking are neat to see, there is a lot of traffic, sites are not private at all. Lots of cars driving in and out of camping area continuously. There was trash in the creek that backs up to the camp sites. There is a bit of a steep entrance coming in that you need to MAKE SURE no other cars are coming or there will be issues getting your RV in here. Otherwise it's just an OK park. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Red Rock Canyon State Park is near Hinton, Oklahoma just south of I-40. Nice park with nice sites and hiking trails. Beautiful shallow canyon with red rock walls. Be aware the entry road is steep with a couple of tight turns. I had no problems getting in or out with a 38' 5th wheel. We were in site 52 (50A electric and water). They have a few full hook-up sites. We would stay here again. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a two day stay to rest up before the last leg of our journey home. The park is just on the outskirts of the small town of Hinton, OK. This park was one of the cleanest parks we stayed in on our trip. The campground was spotless & very well kept. I will say, there seemed to be a lots of locals camping with their kids for the week-end but they to were very nice.

You do have to be looking for the sign to turn into the park it's rather small and easy to miss. After you check in you drive down into the campsite. Like others said, "it's rather narrow & has a sharp curve, but plenty of room to make the swing. We had a 28 ft TT & had no problems. It's a great park & would definitely stay here again. Very steep windy hill entering. Not sure what would happen if you met another rig going the other way as the roads not wide enough for two. Nice pull through with full hookup. I was looking for a pay station when the friendly ranger pulled up to the site. Lots of hiking and lots of family's in the park. The only down side is the grade in & out. We stopped for the night. We could not find a place to pay the fee and just went into the park. Getting in with a 40 foot fifth wheel is tight and even tighter going out. I will never take a camper that big into that park.

We could not find a person to pay on the way out either. Thr ranger was supposed to stop by and pick up the fee. We stopped to use the dump station and a ranger came to the little guard shack and we paid him there.

This is an older park but it is clean. We camped at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park (formerly Red Rock Canyon State Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
