This is a beautiful city park with electric and water only. There are walking trails, pond with ducks. Would definitely stay here again. Only down side is there is no dump station in the area (including town). Stayed here in a motorhome. Self pay at iron ranger. While here for several days I noticed a couple people did not pay. My complaint is, if you stay in any city park you should pay or these towns will quit offering these conveniences. - goofy50

I have stayed in this spot since I was a pre-teen traveling with my parents in the early 70's and love it. It's even gotten better although it was free in the 70's. $15 is almost free. Great park with walking trail around a nice lake with friendly ducks, geese, and many other water birds. Quiet, safe, great view of lake, and dirt cheap. Only one other camper. Perfect for us. - User2528

Perfect for what we needed, a place to sleep between Houston and Denver. All 5 spaces open when we arrived. Easy to back into space. 20, 30, and 50 amp available. Good water pressure. Picnic tables available. We hooked up and walked over to watch a girl's fast pitch softball game. Bathroom with flushing toilets and clean sink near baseball field. Curtains for doors of stalls. Portapotty in camp area. Very quiet and well lit after game. Cute little lake and nice walking trails. - Debrasjunk

The owner is a sweetheart. We arrived with a 3-day reservation but realized there wasn't much to see or do and she agreed to let us leave sooner or not as we chose. Great spot for a night or more even though the occasional train and highway create some noise. Run a small fan in when you sleep and the white noise removes most of the disturbance. The park is clean, well maintained and all utilities work well. - Stan Steinberg

Overnight during major thunderstorms. Very hospitable greeting from the owner who kept office open for our late arrival. All utilities including cable were great. Some standing water in gravel sites. Very convenient to Hwy 287. Would stay here again. - RVondaGO

For being in the middle of nowhere, Texas, this is a very good place to stop for one or a few nights. We stayed here in February a few years ago waiting out a snow storm in Amarillo and again last week. Lots of contractor rigs parked along the outer edge but they save the big pull-thru sites in the middle for the one or a few nighters. Grounds are well kept and improvements being added. Only thing that keeps me from giving it a 10 is the frequent freight trains whistling for a crossing about once per hour. Will stay here again. - Bojangles

This is no longer called BestWestern; now called RedRoof. 43'Motorhome towing. Did not have to disconnect. Stayed one night passing through. NO WATER, NO SEWER, NO DUMP STATION! Rep at desk did not know what utilities was available! 50/30amp! Grass. Road traffic within 50 yds. Overpriced for the value. Walmart close but not walking distance. About 1/4 mile away. At least we didn't have trees blocking our satellite dish so we enjoyed NLCS! Go Brewers! If there were others here, navigation would be very difficult. Unless you need power, save $26.00 and stay at Walmart 1/4 mile away. - User3126

Definitely a bare bones, no amenities park. Only 3 sites available for transients; the others appear to be permanent residents. Better than overnighting at Walmart. Full hookups and slides can be deployed. Pull through site accommodated our motorhome and tow dolly. We felt safe, and except for a garbage truck at 5AM emptying the dumpster, we were undisturbed. We will stay here again if in the area. - knipp4la

A very low end place. I won't even describe it as a campground. I can't believe Best Western would allow such a place to exist. Only three sites available and they were covered with trash and debris. The few other sites were occupied by run down permanent campers. The promised WiFi did not exist. A scary place to stay. We would never consider staying there again. - Bill In Florida
