Jun 2018 - $10.00
This is one of the nicest, quietest COE's we have stayed at. The sites are level, spacious, grounds immaculately kept with huge expanses of open space for kids and adults to play. All the sites are either on the water (although the water level was down at the time of our stay) with huge trees for shade or with views of the water. Restrooms and showers were immaculate and cleaned daily. The host/maintenance team was outstanding, helpful and friendly. The campground gets full on weekends but during our 2 week stay, there were only a handful of campers. Ponca City, only a few miles away, has everything you need and has a history of its own. The only negative about this campground is that there are a lot of spiders, but of course you are in the great outdoors and that is their playground! We will definitely return when in the area for another great stay. - Budmobile
Jun 2018 - $10.00
An off the state road 11 COE CG in North central OK with 54 widely spaced lightly unlevel gravel sites most with nice large trees by the beautiful large Kaw lake reservior. EW at sites with a metal shelter over table and bench, lots of well mowed grass fields with a frisbee golf course, a nice playground, a boat launch ramp and dock. There is a dump and trash dumpster at the entrance. The bathhouse I looked at had toilet, sink and shower. This day after weekend crowd so some cleaning was to be done. We really liked this CG. - 210jem
Jun 2018 - $10.00
Medium sized, well maintained COE park on a large lake. Sites are all back-in, large and very well spaced. Some sites are not level front to back, but are generally level side to side. Most are in partial shade, however a few are in total shade. Most sites are gravel with a gravel sitting area, but some need to be refreshed with new gravel. Site 44 is muddy when it rains. Sites 31-35 are surrounded by large trees and are exceptionally nice. Wind is present in this area frequently and can be a challenge at times for campfires, tents, awnings that are left out, and even just sitting outside comfortably. The sites in this CG seem to be laid out in "clusters" with large play fields between them. Sites have a covered picnic table - nice in the hot summer sun when you can't put the awning out when there is wind. Plenty of modern rest room facilities in the campground. Basic dump station. - Bama Camper

May 2017 - $50.00
Since we were 40' we had to park in the back where it was more rustic, which was fine for us. There was no firepit or picnic table. Unfortunately there was a torrential downpour and we had "rivers" through the campsite. Dried out by morning so it was not difficult to get out. Sites were gravel, spacious and mostly shady. - Betsy_02
Oct 2016 - $25.00
We stopped here on our way back south. It is a small campground with several sections. The park has shaded and non-shaded sites. The sites are mostly gravel with a section that has concrete pads. FHU, Verizon has decent signal, some TV channels on antennae, no discounts and laundry. The WiFi was very weak. There is a section of back-in sites right behind the office which might have better WiFi signal. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. - TexasRVer
Oct 2013 - $25.00
Nice, safe campground just off US 77 south of the Arkansas River, south edge of Arkansas City, KS. Park is still growing with new sites being added. Shade trees throughout the park. Every site is 50 amp. Good easy hookups including cable hook up.....I didn't have to use my cable. Hard packed gravel roads and sites...no need for blocks to level. Russ (owner) very obliging, hospitable. Russ helped us with a mechanical problem with the 5th wheel and would not accept any pay. I would have had to pay a service call if he hadn't jumped in with some tools. Really liked the "family" atmosphere.....if you camp there, you become family. We will camp at Cherokee Strip CG again when in the area. - D Curf

Sep 2015 - $7.00
The prior two reviewers did a good job of describing the strange set up in this little campground so I'm not going to go into it. But what I do have to comment on is the appalling filthiness of the grounds. There was trash everywhere...in every fire pit, on the lawns, on the road, even in the bushes despite the fact that there are three dumpsters readily available on the grounds. There were hundreds upon hundreds of cigarette butts all over the ground. I can't comment on the restroom because after seeing the state of the park itself I was afraid to even go in them! Who does this? Was there a slob convention here this last weekend? Or does Ponca City just not care that what would be an otherwise nice little camp at a great price is ruined by the trash heaps everywhere? What kind of disrespectful low-lifes use this camp? We were the only ones there on this Monday night and I was glad because judging from the way the people around here treat the place I don't think I would want to be around them. Is this typical behavior of Oklahomans? Our first night in the state we stayed at a lovely state park that was perfectly clean and now this. I just don't even know what to think. If you are looking for a cheap place to spend the night when you are passing through, this might be worth checking out and seeing if this is the typical state of affairs, but I would never stay here again unless they cleaned up their park! - Pdxjoanne
Oct 2013 - $12.00
OK for a night or two. Nothing fancy but the price is right. The spots are kind pf like a parking lot -- the pull throughs are like if you just pulled over on the side of the road. Others are like a parking lot. Gravel and pretty level. You can't see the lake from the sites - lots of trees. Although Ponca City has free WiFi, it doesn't extend to this park but would probably work if you had a booster. We do not. Dog-friendly with lots of grass. Fills up on weekends, but during the week it is pretty private. No water at the sites, but several taps located throughout the park. - Runamokdog
Sep 2011 - $12.00
Weird sort of park. There are 3 sites that are back ins, others are pull up and figure out where you fit. Payment is on the honor system. 3 miles east of US 77. Good for an overnight stop - noticed a couple of people who were probably there for an extended period of time. Water is available if you have long hoses - water spigot for every 3-4 sites. - PugetSound

Sep 2016 - $25.00
All utilities worked fine, no sewer smell, good wifi. No trees above 6 feet - no shade. No train or traffic noise. Park is overgrown - needs mowing. The only place to put our trash was a big open construction bin at the west entrance. We would not stay here again. Everything was OK but there is no ambience. - SusanRon
Mar 2016 - $15.00
Like this park, plenty of room between campers, all sites pull-thru. Dirt/gravel base, graded level. 50Amp, water, sewage, $100 deposit for a cable box with good selection of channels and the option to rent a router from the cable company for hardline internet for those working from 'home'. Lots of workers here, employed at refinery or wind farms, but no noise problems noted. Storm cellar for emergencies - gun range - rental cabins border two sides. Nice people to deal with. Plan to stay there again! - Ditchdoc
Oct 2015 - $30.00
Long gravel/rock/grass/mud sites with wide grass separation. Good electric. Far distant train and highway sound. Dogs didn't seem to get any burrs in their feet while being walked. Good cable TV with $100 deposit cable box. That's where the good ends. Extremely slow WiFi/Internet. Hose bibs are below grade and at our site the dirt hole was almost too small to connect a hose and then filled with water. Other reviewer commented about smell of distant refinery but it was more likely the odor given off by all of the upcapped sewer connections. Placed a chunk of concrete over those on the adjacent sites. No picnic tables. Office doesn't open until 11 AM so must wait until then to obtain $100 cable box deposit refund. Showers cost an additional $5 at the office. Site surfaces vary from smooth to rutted with 3" rocks. - Markk

Apr 2017 - $9.00
This park is off the beaten path but it is on a real nice lake. The campground has numerous poorly maintained sites. The whole park needs some TLC. We got one of the best sites number 12. You have 30 amps electric, no water on site and no sewer. There are a very few water faucets to fill your tank or you can bring in your own water. There are no dumpsters in the campground; they are outside the campground at the dump station. The dump station is well designed. We would stay here again. - Kent and Margaret
May 2013 - $15.00
A well maintained Corps of Engineer Park overlooking Kaw Lake. Sites are large, paved and have privacy. Most sites are sloped front to back, some seriously. Many sites are on the Arkansas River/Kaw Lake. Restroom and showers are clean and reasonably maintained. No hand soap in the men’s restroom. Cell signal (Verizon) was weak. Not all sites receive cell signal. We received DTV signal on our site (61) but the shady sites make DTV reception a challenge. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The only negative is the trash bins are not kept closed. - johnrobertpowers
Apr 2013 - $18.00
You have to travel pretty far back along Kaw Lake to find these COE campgrounds, but they are well worth the trip. Very large sites. Most are not level, but some are. Good Verizon service. Tables, grill, fire pit. This park was built in the 60's so the roads can be a little narrow but easy to manage. The restrooms were old but clean. Only one restrooms with flush toilets per loop, the rest are pit toilets. Water is available but not at the sites. 30amp electric was reliable. Not busy in April, but I can imagine in the summer with the beautiful lake it can get busy. The gate closes at 10pm, but arrangements can be made with the hosts to have it opened. We paid 1/2 price for old age so $9 was well worth it. We would definitely come back and stay longer. - rhianna

Mar 2016 - $20.00
This is a quirky little place but we liked it. There are about 8 RV spots behind a neat&tidy motel and several tidy mobile homes. No restrooms or showers here. There aren't a lot of camping choices that had TV along this part of 35 and we needed to monitor road/weather conditions as there were snow storms and tornados in surrounding states. The manager assisted us in getting the cable box hooked up, she was very helpful! Winds were gusting over 50 mph and this park was more sheltered than those along the interstate as it is located in a residential area with large trees. If you have a big rig it may be easier to enter on Cherry St right before the motel courtyard (we pulled into courtyard without problem but did note some lower hanging wires coming off the light pole back by the office in the courtyard. We are 12'7", anything higher should watch those wires) You will need to unhook your tow vehicle to stay here. We backed our 36' MH into a space on Cherry st. As mentioned, the sewer is way at back of spaces so back up as far as possible and you will likely need extra hose. - Nautical Wheelers
Mar 2016 - $20.00
Quiet small park behind a small extended stay motel. Mostly extended stay workers but still very clean and quiet. Beautiful trees. - $hide
Nov 2011 - $15.00
This is a clean park. Website stated $15 a night, but I was told by a camper it had been raised to $20. Sewage was way back of the site and couldn't be used without additional hoses. Was very quiet. Not easily accessible for big fifth wheels. Would stay again. - From the Kites

Jun 2017 - $35.00
Pulled into this RV Park first week of June, just as it started to rain. Check in person was pleasant and stated no showers or restrooms on site. Also warned that water pressure was high and that I should use a pressure regulator. Hookups were located near middle of site. Voltage was good. Site was gravel and long enough for my 5W and truck. We were the only camper there except a couple of old long term units on the other side of the park. I would stay here again. - campingdog
Dec 2016 - $35.00
This park has one main attraction, it's close to I-35, easy on/off. No bathrooms, no showers, no Wi-Fi. And since it's Winter, no water at the camp spots. Water was available at a hydrant if needed. Office is not staffed until 5:00 PM. Sign in the office says to pick a spot. Watch out, some of the spots have serious potholes. But the nightly rate is too much for so little. $39 with no discount, $35 with Good Sam. This will be out last stay at this park. - D-Lo
Dec 2016 - $35.00
Right off I40 but far enough for no highway noise. Stopped because of freak snowstorm and very high winds. No one else camped there but we were very glad to be able to stop. In the middle of farm fields. Hard to rate as there are few services- no showers, no restrooms, no laundramat, no WiFi but owner really pleasant and helpful. Good electric and great water. Several frost proof water lines still open. - NanciRV
