Apr 2018 - $11.00
Nice little campground and well maintained. - PegL
May 2011 - $11.00
I gave this COE park a middling rating but it has some excellent aspects as well as some not so good. We stayed in the Juniper Road camp area. It had level, concrete pads with very nice picnic tables also on concrete pads (superb). The hosts at the gate were hospitable and helpful. The downsides were that the park rangers did not enforce the park rules - people parked their vehicles partially on the one lane roads (very inconvenient) and dogs barked early in the morning as well as often during the day taking away from the experience. The camp areas had grass or gravel pad sites and even narrower roads. All back-in sites. - PapaDG

Quiet lakeside spot under lots of shade trees. Could be iffy for big coaches and large 5th wheelers working your way through the trees on the bumpy uneven roads. Only half the bath/shower facilities were open and the water could have been warmer. I was there early in the season so it may be better later on. I'd stay there again for the night. - Traveler John

Quiet and peaceful, dogs are allowed, but must be attended when outside. Laundry is available. No showers. Nightly pull throughs and monthly rates. Beautiful lake, free fishing, full hookups and Wi-Fi. Cell phone service is iffy. True southern hospitality. - Robyn Witt
Jun 2012 - $25.00
Stay for three days a this park. Most of the guests are full time. They allow them to keep dogs tied up out side. So when you are out side the are always barking. On the third day, I said something to the owner and he told me that If I didn't like dogs I should not stay at the park and that he didn't want to say anything to a good guest about his dogs. It is a great park except for the this issue because you can't walk around without them barking. There are no public restrooms or showers. - Hico Frank
Sep 2011 - $25.00
We stayed here for 2 months and loved it. There are pine trees that shade all the areas. There is a pond out front under pine trees where you can fish the stocked pond for free (keep what you want). Wi-Fi had excellent reception, owners were friendly and kept the park well manicured and clean. I would recommend this park to anyone traveling through or long stays. They do not have a laundry mat and the closest laundry mat is a few miles up the road but I was told he was thinking about putting laundry services in the park. - MeAndMyCamper

Great overnight stay, older park but clean and friendly host. - Carl Lance 1995
Aug 2010 - $9.00
Nice park but when we go back will go over to Hugo Lake COE in Oklahoma. - glbaker44
Feb 2010 - $7.00
Older Corps of Engineers park. Not much room between sites. Some sites were blacktopped, but most were gravel and in need of some work. Bathrooms were clean but older and not too appealing. Nice view of the lake. You are camping in the woods and it it hard to get DirecTV because of the trees. No WI-FI or cable and not even any antenna TV. We stayed overnight and didn't unhook. Would stay again for an overnight. For the price we did not expect much. The cost quoted above reflects us using our Senior Pass and got half off the regular price. - mtg46

This RV park (advertises as being in Sobol,Okla OR Broken Bow which is 30 plus miles away) is in a very remote area-Poor/NON EXISTENT cell access and the wireless promised in the Park's website is mediocre at best. No cable. If you have medical concerns and need ready access to medical care you may want to think twice about staying here. Well water has a strong odor; bring bottled water for drinking/cooking. Sites are not level and set on a slope-Park is clean but offers nothing in the way of amenities. WORST OF ALL is the conduct of management. Petty malicious AND OPEN gossip with other guests about where and how I make my living. That "I am dealing drugs. That I am drunk, I had my trash rummaged through (The owner's answer was to remove my trash barrel), my trailer vandalized and the contents of my vehicle scrutinized. I am a single female traveling on my own. (Keep to myself, don't drink or do drugs) and have just returned from Iraq. All I wanted was some peace and quiet and NOT to be bothered. (The trailer that I have is older but is my home for now). What I GOT WAS HARASSED. NEVER, ever will I return to this park. Would I recommend this place to anyone? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! - peppy2

My family and I pulled in overnight, it seemed like a nice place. We had been there for a hour or so, when the lady that was running the office went over to a group of gentelmen that was quietly grilling. The lady yelled at one to leave then started yelling at the other two. she was cursing and waving her hands around wildly about how hard she works. She flipped off both of the gentlemen and left. After she left my children asked me what some of the swear words ment. I would not recommend this place for anyone with a family. - camper 13

We overnighted here on our way home from a trip. This is a very good place. Very neat with rock roads and level rock sites. Easy to maneuver with our 40 ft 5th wheel. Convenient hook-ups. Utilities, cable and wifi worked well. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely stay here when we're back in the area. - bb6306
Sep 2014 - $30.00
This was our second stay here. The first time, we had a site with lots of grass. This time, the rigs were so close together that if I jumped out of the door, I could jump into the rig next door. We had even more electrical problems than last time, the 50 amp service loosing power quickly in the hot weather. The park maintenance man said there was nothing wrong with the park electricity, but when we got to the next stop, strangely enough, we had no problems whatsoever. The park's power supply simply cannot handle the load. The AT&T and Verizon signals were good and strong. The water pressure was very good. The sewer system, however, had some problems. When emptying our black tank, water bubbled up from the ground about 20 feet from our service outlet towards the head of the rig and water was also backing up the next site over. I do not think that we will be staying here again. - Greyt-Parent

Half price with your Golden Access/National park pass. Quiet, beautiful, spacious sites. Some have low branches so be careful pulling in. Lots of water views, wildlife (armadillos, herons, ducks, squirrels, etc). We are so happy to be here, a few other campers but it is very open. - CMD
Apr 2010 - $18.00
This is a quiet campground. The site I had was not level, but that's because it was close to the water and all of the land runs toward the lake. The employees were are nice and there were picnic tables and fire rings at every site. I graded the park down a bit because the bathrooms could have been cleaner and the sites are a little narrow to back into. We would stay here again. - BrianNShell
Jun 2006 - $15.00
We love this lake because we it is beautiful, peaceful, quiet and not crowded, with a lot of open space for walks, bike riding, etc. Most of the lake has a sand waterfront, so it's easy to get in the water and on this trip it was actually quite warm. At night, you can hear the critters, rather than a lot of vehicle traffic and partying. We camped at Pat Mayse West but there are also campsites at the smaller Pat Mayse East. Like most Army Corps of Engineers sites, there are no frills here. The bathrooms are pit toilets, and only Loop A has showers and they were not tidy or fancy. However, if you are self-contained this is no problem. You can make site-specific reservations in most cases. Ours site was on the waterfront with lots of privacy and an awesome view but like many of the waterfront sites, not level, not wide, and difficult to get into. So, read the site descriptions carefully and call if you have any questions, especially if you have a large vehicle. Our site was supposed to be good for 45' and under, and our hybrid trailer is only 19' before opening the ends, and it was tough. - Lucydog

We were transferred here with my husband's job not knowing how long we would be here. The management has been very friendly, helpful, considerate and more than accommodating! For instance with my husband's work circumstances we have to have three vehicles on site and the manager walked out with us and guided us to the perfect spot, one in which we would not inconvenience anyone else. This park experience is truly like being in a campground and not in a concrete, with no trees, RV park! Most all the spaces are oversized in comparison to many other parks with wonderful huge shade trees and always clean. Actually, I can't say that I have ever seen any trash on the grounds! There is a strict 'no noise' policy, no constantly barking dogs, no loud music, and no boisterous campers, which makes staying here a dream! The free cable TV and WIFI are a plus! We have been here a year and a half and are still as happy as the day we arrived, and have not had a single negative experience! The park is on a major highway, but the traffic noise is minimal, especially at night. Shopping is only 6 miles keeping us out of the 'big' city but close enough to run to the store! We love it here and we love that the owner and the manager are both hands on and very caring! - Sharon Henderson
Apr 2013 - $25.00
Park was easily accessible from the highway with level, well-shaded pull throughs. Very friendly manager. More than adequate for an overnight stay. No credit cards accepted. We stayed here in a 30 ft motorhone and did not have to disconnect our Jeep. - dulce

Park is all gravel and in need of an overhaul. Many cable posts were broken and wires were across the road. Sewer pipes were broken. Our Bishon got a flea infestation. Owner was friendly. - matparis

We stayed here for 5 nights early in the season so there were only 3 other rigs on our loop. The concrete pads are level but the roads are very narrow for big rigs. The loops have vault type toilets but there is a new shower and restroom facility at the entrance of the park along with the dumpsters. Our space was right on the water so it was convenient if you want to fish. We camped here in a 45 ft motor home. - Vstarrider1946
