The park itself was not reflective of the very well made website. The main advertising part of their website was a diner up the road which we visited before hand, and was very good! We had a choice between a gravel lot between long term occupants and a shady area. We opted for the shady area only to find that the shore line wouldn't reach and the water didn't work too well either. There were ants anywhere you stood/sat and no facilities at all! We left after an hour or so when the toilet backed up!
We were given a very warm welcome and the host was helpful with a shore line extension but that is unfortunately the only positive. - Tracy86

This is a small, gravel, parking lot style campground right off I-40. It is not an RV resort or a state park. Self-serve registration envelope & instructions available at the office. Cash or checks only. No one is there to take a credit card.
There are many permanent residents and some live in older RV's. It is the only campground in Weatherford and the next closest one is in Clinton. We two 60-something seasoned lady travelers found it to be quite satisfactory for an overnight stop.
The perimeter grass was cut, the place was neat with no trash and the sites are level and mostly pull-thru's. There were no security issues. We felt safe. There are no bathrooms or showers, but the available sites all had 30 & 50 amp electric, good tasting, clear water and sewer hook ups. It's just fine for a quick overnight. We would stay again. - DebInIndy

Thought we would stop by and update the 2010 review on this park. If anything it's worse than it was. The only thing new was the "Tinsey's Old Route 66 RV Park" sign. NO one on site to check-in. NO rate chart. NO registration forms/envelopes. NO effort toward overnighters. NO response on the "if no one is here call.." number. COULD NOT leave even a message. NO call back on a missed call on his phone. He offers nothing to the nostalgic Route 66 traveler. He has a nearly full house of long term residents and apparently that's enough for him. It is not even worth the effort to pull off the Interstate unless you are desperate. - CharlieB

Fabulous. Really nice new RV Park with very friendly staff and a cute store. 1/2 m off the freeway, level cement pull thru pads, picnic table, fire pit, super clean bathrooms/showers. Open, so pretty views, excellent DISH and Verizon Reception. Very quiet. Will definitely stay here again. - Cindy Sue
Nov 2018 - $40.00

Nov 2018 - $50.00
This place rocks!!!! They maintain the campground immaculate. They have thought of everything. A dedicated dog wash. Kids area. The water hook up insulated so it doesn't freeze. The sites are spacious. Could accommodate our 43' motorhome and tow with no problem. Easy on and off interstate. Front office very professional and friendly. The entrance is so pretty with a cascading koi pool. Well lit at night, secure and quiet. - NPC

May 2014 - $1.00
This is a free site, no charge to park. This is in the parking lot for the casino. There are utility poles on either end of the lot with numerous hook ups, 50 amp, 30 amp, regular house hold plugs. The lot is on a pretty good slope so we could not get level but we got close. We tried backing in with our head down but it would take too many blocks to level. We ended up side on and got close to level. No water or sewer hookup. This is a first come first served type of set up. The lot is monitored by security camera and a regular drive through. They knew we were there right away and a lady showed up in a truck to see if we were doing OK and to offer a ride to the casino, just a short walk away. We were made to feel very welcome and we told we could stay as long as we wanted. Would use this spot again if in the area. - BMain

The Lucky Star Casino is located approximately 1 mi off I-40 and provides an overflow paved parking lot for RV parking. Access to the casino is easy and we used N2274 Rd from the interstate. Actual address of the casino is 101 North Indian Hospital Road, Clinton, Oklahoma 73601. The overflow parking lot is paved and approximately 200 yards from the actual casino. There are many "dry" RV sites available. At the east and west end of the parking lot are located very large grey electrical boxes which supply 50 amp power for at least 2 backed-in RVs each, however the slope of the pavement is significant and we had difficulty leveling. As no other RVs were in the area we parallel parked at one of the boxes and had no leveling issues. The casino offers the RV sites for free and thus it is a good overnight stop. Staff were very friendly and security patrols were evident. A shuttle service will take you to the casino. The casino also provided my wife and I each with a $10 gambling credit. - Darrell M

The park is a bi-level park and entrance into each area is separate from each other. Check-in is in a boutique store and the clerk is the store/park owner-manager. If the shop is closed you have to self register. The grounds are not well kept and this camper did not try to use any of the park facilities. There isn't anything for families and children, but the park is pet friendly. It's adequate for over night parking if you're self contained. - Oddyssey
Jul 2016 - $33.00
The location for this campground is wrong. It is located in Clinton just South of I40.
The WI-FI worked OK. It's coverage is aimed behind the building. Many sites are shaded. Laundry room is clean. Machines were inexpensive and worked well. Showers were simple but clean. Saturday and Sunday you have to self check-in. - CharlieB
Oct 2015 - $30.00
Good for an overnighter. WiFi didn't work. Trees need to be trimmed for larger rigs. Had limbs on the roof. Would consider another stay. - BL Ford

Scenic place that was very quiet, beautiful stargazing on clear nights. Inspiration Point trail is worth the hike, and the golf course is really fun. - Bob806
Jul 2017 - $22.00
This state park is highlighted by the cold natural springs that flow through the area. This family friendly beauty has something for everyone and is super budget friendly. A well kept golf course, colorful miniature golf, double seat paddle boats, rentals for kayaks and canoes. The large swimming pool has 2 slides, a rock wall for climbing and diving in and a splash pad accessible from outside the pool area. A large lake is great for fishing and boating.
The highlight of this historic park is the natural spring that flow through the entire area. Cold water is a refreshing respite after hiking one of the many trails that wonder through the mountains.
A general store is within walking distance of all the camp sites. Appreciated details are newly renovated bathrooms and showers, friendly park rangers and staff. Sites are everything ranging from tent, partial and full full service. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and small grill. Find a favorite spot while you are there? Make a reservation on the internet. We will be back! - Suzyrenee
Nov 2016 - $27.00
This park is a "resort" park. We were disappointed in their use of the word "resort". It did have a lodge, restaurant and golf course, but this is a very old park. The lack of signage is really an issue. We had no idea where we were going when we came in and called the park office to make sure we were heading to the campgrounds. The park office is located in the lodge which isn't near the campgrounds. Our site was a FHU with a concrete pad. All utilities worked good. In the campground there was a General Store and miniature golf course but both were closed while we were there. We tried to do some hiking but the trails are not marked at all and there were so many places where the trail took off a different direction that we just turned around and went back. The Xeroxed map of the park and trails was unreadable. We probably wouldn't stay here again. - jacknpeg
