Scenic place that was very quiet, beautiful stargazing on clear nights. Inspiration Point trail is worth the hike, and the golf course is really fun. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Watonga, Ok about 8 miles south has plenty of shopping and gas stations. We were here during the annual Cheese Festival, which was pretty cool. Day trip to Gloss Mountain State Park, about40 miles away near Fairview is worth it.

This state park is highlighted by the cold natural springs that flow through the area. This family friendly beauty has something for everyone and is super budget friendly. A well kept golf course, colorful miniature golf, double seat paddle boats, rentals for kayaks and canoes. The large swimming pool has 2 slides, a rock wall for climbing and diving in and a splash pad accessible from outside the pool area. A large lake is great for fishing and boating.

The highlight of this historic park is the natural spring that flow through the entire area. Cold water is a refreshing respite after hiking one of the many trails that wonder through the mountains.

A general store is within walking distance of all the camp sites. Appreciated details are newly renovated bathrooms and showers, friendly park rangers and staff. Sites are everything ranging from tent, partial and full full service. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and small grill. Find a favorite spot while you are there? Make a reservation on the internet. We will be back! We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Tent Trailer.

This park is a "resort" park. We were disappointed in their use of the word "resort". It did have a lodge, restaurant and golf course, but this is a very old park. The lack of signage is really an issue. We had no idea where we were going when we came in and called the park office to make sure we were heading to the campgrounds. The park office is located in the lodge which isn't near the campgrounds. Our site was a FHU with a concrete pad. All utilities worked good. In the campground there was a General Store and miniature golf course but both were closed while we were there. We tried to do some hiking but the trails are not marked at all and there were so many places where the trail took off a different direction that we just turned around and went back. The Xeroxed map of the park and trails was unreadable. We probably wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is located in Roman Nose State Park. We stayed at the campground closest to the lake. The site was a pull through and gravel. We were there over Labor Day Weekend, so the park was very full. Pool was closed, which didn't make us happy. I did get to play golf on their course, which I highly recommend. The city of Watonga is about 10 mins from the park. The park is located approximately 35 minutes from the Interstate. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

Roman Nose State Park is 5 miles north of Watonga, Oklahoma. The park has RV sites (some with full hookups), lodge, cabins, restaurant, golf course, and pool. The featured attraction in the Natural Springs and Inspiration Point. The hiking trails are very good. We stayed in Two Lakes Campground in site 42 (water, 50 amp electric, and sewer) for $30/night. Reservations can be made online for specific sites. Many sites were marked as reserved, but were unoccupied. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

Attacked by a goose! There are lots of those critters. Actually, it was kind of funny. It's a beautiful, well kept, quiet and peaceful park. We stayed in Canyon Vista where the campsites are very narrow, but the concrete pad was big enough for the leveling jacks. The road coming in is narrow, but not challenging. I would definitely stay here again. If you stay here, you simply MUST visit the springs. Beautiful and refreshing. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Motorhome.

Tw0 Lakes CG is a small 9 space campground situated on a spit of ground extending into Lake Watonga. There is a miniature golf-course, a small convenience store, and paddle boat rentals adjacent. Lake Watonga is a popular fishing lake, but no wading or swimming. Our site faced away from the other spaces and toward the lake. This space is right along the path that the people follow along the water to fish, so if you are particular about people crossing your campsite, choose another. The space has paved approaches with concrete pads. Both 30 and 50 amp electrical. This campground has full hookups. There are trees in the area, but not shading the sites. There is no "comfort" facility at this campground, but there is one down the road at the next campground. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

This campground has miniature golf and paddleboat rentals for a fee. There is a restaurant at the Park Lodge, but otherwise little in the area. You will have to go into Watonga for any supplies.

Twenty one per night was with a $2 per night senior discount at the Canyon View campground on Lake Watonga with full hookups. Spacing between sites is generous and most sites are level and have a concrete pad and picnic table. There are trees in the campground but most of the sites are in full sun—two other campgrounds within the park offer more shade. The park is located north of Watonga, which is a sparsely populated area with very limited dining and shopping opportunities. The park itself has many amenities including golf, fishing, and hiking/biking/equestrian trails. We received virtually no cell phone service on our AT&T phone, but we could text. We used our Millenicom jetpack as a Wi-Fi hotspot and it worked very well. We received 16 OTA TV stations including CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, and PBS. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Motorhome.

The staff was both friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery, clean camp grounds. Plenty of family activities: paddle boats, fishing, biking, hiking, horseback trails, swimming, miniature golf, and natural springs. The only downside was the pool was closed temporarily. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Oklahoma state parks are not very RV friendly. The rates are relatively high and rising, they have phased out discounts for longer stays and they do not take reservations so you have to call ahead if you want to be fairly sure to have a space.

We stayed one week at Roman Nose. The staff was friendly and helpful. Access was easy but with a few low hanging trees. Pads are concrete and level. Beautiful views and easy access to walking/biking trails and the lakes. Golf course and horse trails on the park. It was spring break so the park filled up for half a week. If we had not been there early we would have not gotten a space. We could get free WiFi with an antenna boost. Watonga is close and has almost everything you would need. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

Due to bad weather there weren't many campers at the park. We camped down at the larger of the two lakes. The sites are roughly level and quite spacious, grassy and have a view of the lake. The resident yard geese were entertaining, wild Canadian geese came in too. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Great family campground. Had miniature golf, paddle boats, horse rides, trails, fishing, and a huge nice swimming pool. The trails were great with natural springs and creeks that were beautiful. We had one of the few spots with shade. Lake was nice but small, not for big boats. Swimming pool cost $5 for adults and $4 for kids, there were issues with the pool being closed, but it was a very nice pool. Staff was great. We would return. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Tent Trailer.

This is a small park with very few full hook up sites. We did get a good spot with some trees, but they are hard to come by. This park has a lot of activities to offer including, hiking, horseback riding, putt putt, paddle boats or canoes, a pool, and a small general store. The best part of the campground is the natural springs that you can play in. The campground needed some work and the bathrooms were average. Overall this was a good experience and I would go back if we could get the same spot. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in one of the full hook up sites. There are other non-full hook up sites available at a lower rate. There were a good number of sites that had shade. They do not take reservations. Cannot swim in the lake but they have a large pool available for swimming. Great place for a family camping trip. Also the golf course is outstanding. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Travel Trailer.
