Have stayed there overnight a few times going to New Mexico. Only dealt with the Park Ranger to check in. Nice park with full hook ups. Close to Woodward. Will certainly stay there again. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We were looking for a CG in the general area to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a Friday night in late October in our 25 foot MH. This is a very nice State Park with 2 CGs across the road from each other. Whitetail has full hook ups and pull thru sites. Spring Hill has water and electric sites and are mostly back-ins. We stayed in Spring Hill. The generously sized sites are gravel and level, arrayed around a loop surrounded by grass and some trees for shade. The utilities work well. The grounds are clean and well maintained. There's no wifi. There's good ATT and Verizon cell coverage. There are coin op showers which we did not use. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

There are only 10 full hookup sites. We stayed in site #2. The sites were clean and well mowed. Concrete picnic tables at each site. Some sites had a tree for late afternoon shade. Though the sites are not large, it was fine. Cell service isn't great, but isn't a complete blackout either. There is a pool onsite. The pool cost are not included in the camping fees. So, for our family of four it was $30 for camping and $16 a day for swimming. Well worth our stay. I would stay here again. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Woodward is 20 minutes away, driving slow. There is a Wal-Mart, fast food and gas. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area; Woodward, Alabastar Caverns, Little Sahara, Gloss Mountain, Fort Supply, etc.

We arrived on the 16th and pulled into sight #46 in the older section of the park. The site was littered with egg shells, corn cobs, and corn husks. The grill had not been cleaned out and was full of ashes along with the fire pit. Garbage was all over the woods next to the site also. I checked the fire pits and grill at the next site and that was not clean either. We packed up and moved to the new section at a rate of $30 dollars a night, about $8.00 more then the older section although cleaner. The grill on this site was not any cleaner. Was very disappointed in this park and will not return. We go to Woodward twice a year and this was our first and last time staying at Boiling Springs. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Mostly empty when we stayed here midweek in October. There are two loops, one with 50 amps and full hookups and another with 30 amps and water (no sewer). We stayed in the simpler, cheaper, and older loop. Lots of trees here must help with the brutal Oklahoma summers, but the trees are not trimmed well. Look before you park! A major train line is not far away so you hear the horns multiple times a night. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Boiling Springs State Park is near Woodward, Oklahoma, and built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. It is a beautiful park.
The boiling springs are not really boiling, but bubbles up through sand to give a look of boiling. The park has nice hiking trails and a swimming pool.
It has 10 full hookup sites in the Whitetail campground and 20+ 30A electric and water sites in Spring Hill and Whitetail campgrounds.
Nearby attractions are Alabaster Caverns State Park, partially restored Fort Supply and Little Sahara State Park.
We were in full hook-up site 7 in Whitetail Campground. Rate $30/night. We did not have a reservation and got a site over Labor Day weekend. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here one night and it was different and nice. We read all reviews prior to the stay which helped set the expectation. Only 2 other families were here which was to be expected since it was a HOT August Oklahoma evening. We'll stay here again en route next trip out! We loved this park. Large spaced sites, lots of open space, deer wandering through every night, wild turkeys, trails to hike. Quiet...peaceful. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We found this to be a lovely campground, complete with friendly deer. Big rig friendly, the full hookup sites are concrete pads. They do not extend the full length of the site, but our 45' parked with all wheels on the concrete. Some sites, as mentioned earlier, have trees overhanging, which we avoided and opted for a treeless site. It appears well maintained, a camp host lives on-site. There are ample trash dumpsters, easy access to bathhouse and toilets, although we did not use them. Trains do pass on the side of town the park is on, but we did not hear whistle blowing, just train rumble now and then. Very nice and we would return. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Above rate reflects full hookup, 50a site with 10% "Senior Citizen" discount. Some trees could bear trimming on roads and sites, but are still passable with big rigs. Our pull-through site is NOT pull-through except for very small rigs due to a medium sized bushy tree too close to the pavement on the exit turn. We backed out and hooked up the toad on the road behind us. Always a peaceful stay here, and the strictly enforced stay length limits are what keeps it available for travelers. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

This was a peaceful camping experience, offering fairly large pull through sites. My site was a level, gravel site in the electric area. The sewer sites seem to be concentrated closer together so a bit smaller, but offer concrete pads. I found the rangers hospitable, and the family who took over as hosts this year absolutely delightful. Showers were nice and hot, and restrooms kept very clean. There are nice walking trails, although in the early spring some cleanup still needed to be done from fallen trees, etc. The rate reflects a Good Sam discount. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Rate reflects disabled discount. The only redeeming factors about this park are the level concrete sites in the pull throughs, and the plentiful deer. The majority of the people are rude, but we found that through the entire town of Woodward. The only friendly employee was the clerk who checked us in. The ranger was a total jerk. The women's shower was broken, so we went to the office to see when it might be fixed. Nobody in the office knew anything about it, even though there was a sign on the shower door. The ranger snapped and very rudely said "I'm only one person and can only do so much and you can bet it won't be today." We were visiting a friend in Woodward and this was the only spot available. All other campgrounds were full due to the pipe liners and the locals that were displaced during the tornado in April. If it weren't for having a friend in Woodward to visit, I would never go back again. But I probably will out of necessity. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground host tells me the entry sign was knocked out recently, and state is deciding how to replace it. So entering from the East is an adventure. Head for the "historical marker". We liked this place as its quiet, deer and turkeys wandering through. The pull throughs with 50 amp and sewer service are close together, but our back-in with 30 amp was level and large. Couple of nice short trails nearby. Great stopover campground in a pretty remote area. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice state park, has a 14-day limit. Has new playgrounds built around the park in the past year, we have stayed here before for a week at at time and will again. There is a nice swimming pool a mile or so from Whitetail campground (this is where the 10 full hookup sites are). Our only complaint this time was the loud music (pounding drum and thumping bass guitar) from the nearby "group area" every day from 8-8:30am and again in late evening: normally during posted quiet hours of 9pm-9am. We camped at Boiling Springs State Park in a Motorhome.
