The campground is right on the lake so wonderful for coastline walks. We took a walk along the coastline towards the lighhouse and and on the trails in woods. That said the campsite itself was pretty basic and the neighbors not particularly quiet or considerate of their neighbors! We had to negotiate their laundry to access the shared electric box and then listen to them late into the night as they partied. The one night we were there it poured with rain for hours and we were seriously concerned we would get bogged in so left at 7am. The dirt ground was huge puddles. Did not get a change to use the showers so cannot review. Nightly rate included Admin Fees and Taxes. Our site was dog friendly. We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

We paid $44 US, the road was a little tight for our 32 ft. camper and they were not marked too well. The had just had some roads wash out, but our site was OK. The neighboring campers were very friendly and we enjoyed our 1 night stay. It was a little buggy, but there were many birds and a beautiful view of Lake Ontario. We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

If you have a campground reservation, the park entrance staff will direct you to the campground office further down the road. If you need to fill up with water, it's at the dump station between the two offices. The park has 3 campgrounds with electric sites with most of them in High Bluffs. This review is for High Bluffs. The road around the campground is a one way loop. Some of it is gravel while near the water it is paved. Three smaller loops of campsites veer off from the main loop. Our site was on the bend at the north end of the water view sites. Our rig is less than 30 ft long and backing into our site took some maneuvering. The site wasn't level, so it took a few levelers. It had a fairly large picnic table that needed a paint job. The fire grill was too close to the road. Being on the end and having trees as a divider gave us some privacy. The only hookup was electric and the pedestal was around 25 ft away. That's close considering some electric posts at other sites can be 3x that distance from your RV. Electric pedestals are shared and they have 2 30 amp and 4 15 amp plug-ins. We received plenty of OTA TV stations, mostly American with a few Canadian. No Wi-Fi found. A small laundry with 2 washers and 2 dryers is located over at the Maples campground. Across from our campsite was the start of the Owen Point trail. It leads to a series of lookouts and also to the beaches. It was a weekend, so the usual amount of noise from kids having fun. On the way out, we used the fairly new dump station. It had two lanes and it wasn't crowded. Definitely a better experience than other dump stations I have been to at other Ontario provincial parks. If I am ever in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again. We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the lighthouse at the end of the peninsula. It was under renovation during our stay. There is a visitor information center with a gift shop on site. The offshore islands are home to 40,000 nesting pairs of sea gulls and other birds as well.

This huge Ontario provincial park is located on a narrow, hook shaped peninsula in Lake Ontario. Our spacious, level campsite was right on the water. There are beaches, trails, opportunities for boating and a lighthouse here. Price quoted here is in $Canadian. We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the Bluffs section site 62. were across the road from the waterfront sites but was still outstanding. Grass with shade, level and what a view! Most sites the same. This is the best section of the CG. Brand new bath and showers(free)which I think is the same in the whole CG. Could not control water temp though so on the 90 degree days it was a bit warm but plenty of it. Sites along lake book early (90days) so don't wait and they are all great. Sites are very spacious and many are open but still lots of privacy. Some of the sites in other sections do have very nice water views and access but are not right at the water's edge like in the Bluff area. A bit pricey for just electric but the views are worth it. Beach is OK and very long but lots of birds and their droppings everywhere. CG tries to rake the beach regularly. Great biking and birding here. Free shuttle into town. Definitely will return and stay longer and hope to book a water site. Only reason for a 9 is that water is not that easy to get in the CG. We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

A beautiful park on Lake Ontario. There are a wide variety of sites, from heavily wooded to wide open. If you're camping in a trailer or motorhome the CGs of choice are The Pines and High Bluffs. There are many activities within the park, and a lighthouse and interpretive center as well. We usually avoid the beaches (there are three) because they collect algae and sometimes there's a strong smell. Swimming can be had off the rocky shores on the south side of the park. We've stayed here many times and will keep coming back. We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

There are several campgrounds in this park. The High Bluffs Campground has a number of large level sites along an 8 foot high bluff overlooking Lake Ontario. About half have some shade, the other half are open. Every second site along the bluff have 15 and 50 amp service and some have been provided with 50 to 30 conversion cables. Sites 71, 75, 79, 97 and 100 all have 50 amp service. In general all sites from the entrance down to 63 on both sides of the bluff road are suitable for large rigs. Sites that are further away from the lake are typically small and some have a significant slope. After the May 24 holiday weekend the bluff area quickly filled up with large trailers and motor homes and almost everyone had dogs with them. Its a very popular park: reserve early for a good site. We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Another reviewer seems to have mixed reviews on Presquille because of the fact that it is heavily wooded. People should take note that Presquille is a "Natural" provincial park and as such is this way quite intentionally. Not all RV'ers enjoy the sterile atmosphere of an RV park with paved roads and little forestry. For what it is, Presquille is one of the premiere camp grounds in the Ontario Provincial Park system and it's level of occupancy attests to it's popularity - if you want a site during the prime summer period, you'd best reserve! We typically visit Presquille at least 2 to 3 times per summer staying an average of 2 to 3 nights. Negatives are many low level sites - wet weather can unfortunately have negative effects on some campsites, but again, this is little different than almost any campground. Presquille is located in a naturally wet woodlands area and as such there are issues that come along with that. There is only one fresh water fill and dump station, but again, this is typical or almost all provincial parks. Extra large trailers (ball trailers in excess of 28' or Fifth Wheels in excess of 35') may have some problems navigating the roads in some of the campgrounds so it may be wise to stop at the main road and plan your entrance. Overall, we love it! We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is Presqu'ile Provincial Park. We paid way too much for our non-prime electric site - about $34 a night for the campsite, $11.85 for the reservation fee, and $5.48 for the GST tax for our 3 night stay - for the jungle-like atmosphere we got. I can't remember when I've seen denser shade. The sites have privacy but the vegetation is out of control. The electric hookup for our site was ten feet into the jungle and shared with the neighboring site. There were no showers in the Trail's End section where we were. It was muggy and there were lots of mosquitoes. The best sites would be the prime ones directly on the lake which have a breeze to keep the bugs down and have more sun since they face south. Thank goodness we had only one light rain shower during our stay - a hard rain would have turned the place into a muddy swamp. There is a single dump station for the entire campground and only one water source to refill our tanks. This campground is really for tent, pop-up, and smaller trailer campers although there were a few smaller 5th wheels and motorhomes. It was very full for a weekend in late August so reserving in advance to get a site in the sun would be required. However, we won't be back. We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Now this is a camp site. We pulled up unannounced without reservations for a one night stay on our way back home. We were able to rent a site with hydro for the night and since check out is 1400 gave us plenty of time to enjoy the almost full 2 days we were there. The kids 7 and 9 enjoyed swimming in the big lake Ontario waves and our site was big enough again to let me drive my truck and trailer around with ease. There was lots of shade as well as nice bike trails. The staff was great and tried what they could to accommodate us in the best location and they did a great job. We camped at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.
