2 RV Parks near Fort Frances, Ontario
Aug 2018 - $26.00
It has been awhile since our last visit to this park and I had forgotten that trains go by here quite often during the day. There was no staff on site and it was self registration. I had to supply my own envelope for the money because the park had none left. It appeared to be cash only. Sites 1-6 have 30 amp electric, while the rest only have 15 amp. I was lucky to get the last 30 amp site since the rest were occupied by long term residents. Sites are divided by concrete border lines and offer no privacy at all. There is barely enough room for a slideout or awning and not enough for both. Hookups are electric and water only. They were located near the middle and worked fine. There is a dump station at the exit. Tables included as well, but no fire ring due to "health and safety reasons" according to the park website. That didn't stop someone from leaving the remains of a fire behind our site. I was told by the camper next to us that the campground shower house was closed, but I noticed another one closer to the day use area. I found 6 OTA TV channels, all American public and educational. No Wi-Fi at all. The campsite is part of a public park that has a beach. It was very popular during our stay due to the heat. If we are ever in this area again, I will look for another park well away from the train tracks. - Onemoretrail

This is a fishing camp on Red Gut Bay. Most of the RV sites are seasonal; phone to see if there are any overnight sites available. From Fort Frances, proceed east on Highway 11 past the Highway 502 turn-off and the iIdian reservation to Pearsons Road; the camp is 4 miles north on this wide gravel road. - Neil C.
