1 RV Park near Greenstone, Ontario
Jul 2018 - $45.00
The price is in Cdn $ before tax. We arrived here after driving all day from Iroquois Falls, ON which is about 550km away. We had no reservation and decided to give it a try based on the reviews we'd read. Leaving the main highway you drive a short way along a dirt/gravel road following the signs. Be careful though as there is another, similar named resort, a few hundred meters before you arrive at this place. Once through the entrance drive up the short hill, following the signs to the office that overlooks the lake. The owner greeted me and offered me a pull-through site for the night. This was sandy soil but fairly level, nestled in amongst some shrubs and trees and between some seasonal residents. Most of the sites here do appear to be seasonal but they also look to be expanding the CG with newer, grass or sandy soil sites. Our site had 30 amp power, sewer and water that was not sanctioned for drinking (according to the notice on the supply connection). My guess would be that it is drawn directly from the lake. It wasn't possible for me to fire up the AC because my PI EMS repeatedly shut down the power due to low voltage - showing 106 or less. Also, there wasn't a breaker re-set on the power post. The laundry had two washers and two dryers, although one dryer was defective. Washing appears to be $2 per load. The laundry was untidy but this may be down to the people using it and not clearing up after themselves. The washrooms were functional but we didn't use those or the showers that are $1 for ten minutes according to the note I read. This is far enough from the highway that traffic noise is not a problem. There is a kids play area as well as the lake to occupy them. - Hutch333id

The park has wonderful scenery. Try to get a site that looks through the trees to the lake. To reach the camp, go past a fishing camp with the same name. Once you're there, go up a steep hill to reach the office. Wi-Fi is usable only very near the office. Satellite TV will work in the few sites with openings in the trees. - Mtmoi

The owner is very welcoming and so very helpful. The washrooms and showers function but are very old indeed. We had site L5 on the lake by the seasonals, only 20amp. There is no Wi-Fi at L5, but we did not care as we wanted super quiet and that is what we got. - eye8ubutler
