Aug 2018 - $50.00
We were last here 5 years ago and were not overly impressed by this large park but wanted to be east of Portland to make the start of our Columbia River Gorge drive easy. We just made the RV age limit and had a level, pull through, FHU with cable site that was satellite friendly. It was near the front of the park and, thus, close to the office, bathrooms, laundry, and pool. As others have noted, the majority of sites are for extended stay customers. Unlike last visit, the bathrooms we used were clean. The laundry was modern and reasonable. I don't understand why a park this big has such a small pool. I did not see any recycling. - Jerry S

This is a very nice park with level sites that are somewhat close, some have shade and others are full sun, full hookups, cable or ota channels, very good WiFi, good ATT cell signal and a nice pool...Check in was very nice and the showers are very clean as well as the park itself...the laundry is excellent as u can use your debit card to pay for the $2 washer or $2 45 min dryer no hassle with quarters and have your cell phone text you when the washer or dryer is done...this is a very large RV Park that is big rig friendly and has 3 different levels...you can also wash your RV for $5, a nice thing if your take the time like we did....a lot of shopping, restaurants near by, close to I84 and a nice drive to the Falls or Mt Hood...sometimes a park like this is nice relief from the dirt and grass of a state park with no cable or WiFi....we would stay here again if in the area.... - smoky40
Jul 2018 - $52.00
Very nice campground just outside of Portland. Excellent utilities, good wifi, OTA channels and satellite tv worked well. Interior roads were paved as well as pads with grass in between sites. A little close but doable. Allowed RV wash for $5.00, a really nice touch. About 20 minutes to Multnomah Falls. Close to Walmart, Fred Meyer and several restaurants. We did not use the pool, but noticed several people enjoying the pool in the hot weather we were having. Very pleasant staff and appears to be one of the better run Encore Parks. - Tomandgloria

As noted, this is a parking lot with RV sites tightly packed. We had site 103 which is a pull through so we had no issue but other sites would have been difficult if not impossible for our 45' rig. Our neighbor's awning was two inches from our side. The positives are that the staff was friendly and helpful and the park has cable and sluggish but usable wifi. They were nice enough to let us check in early. - BigDawg1
Jul 2018 - $44.00
The park is very very tight. Most sites cannot put out awning no space. For overnight OK, but nothing else. Neighborhood scary. Very noisy park, mostly permanents. Make lots of noise especially motorcycles at very early hours of morning on their way to work 6 AM. Worst looking Park on our whole 3 month trip so far. - PJ Norris
Jun 2018 - $40.00
I stayed at this park for the last 7 months and it has been a really great experience. The grounds are kept very clean and maintained. The staff is helpful and friendly. The manager goes above and beyond to accommodate all of the guests and help make your stay enjoyable. Having the river right next to the park is amazing! The restrooms and laundry facility are incredibly clean. I really enjoyed staying at this park. - Travelingman66

The park is right up against the I-5 freeway with no sound wall/barrier. Very noisy no matter where you're parked. Lots of trees where the permanent residents are but not so much in the shorter term sites. Staff keeps the park clean but it is an old park so only so much can be done. For the area the price is fair for the season. - leona mae
Jul 2017 - $48.00
The park has bad water quality, the time we stayed there the manager tried to require my husband to fix the sewage under our site as they have old pipes and get clogged, her problem was that my husband is a Plumber and should have his own tools, the water quality is bad, there is green algae coming out of the water hose connecting to trailers, we had reported this to management as a Plumber is required to report unsafe water conditions, we did so and it seems the water is even worse now, manager has a chip on her shoulder. BE AWARE OF THIS PARK. - karinnagrammer

Very noisy, small spaces, 98% full timers , very little maintenance, management not friendly. Walmart lots could rate higher . - scotwil50

Aug 2018 - $53.00
I would review this park lower, but there is little competition close to Portland, and that's where I need to be when I visit. The parks off I-5 on the Columbia are too hard to get to in traffic, and feature lots of full-timers, plus sketchy neighborhoods. As others have said, the sites are narrow, and the "lawns" sloped, so unusable. With a 40' RV, there is barely room for a toad. If you like to live "outside" your RV, there are a few sites at the bottom, but they are rarely available. I have never been able to get a satellite signal here, due to large trees strategically placed to block the clear sky south. The people that run/manage to place are, to put it kindly, surly, unfriendly and all business. Don't even ask for a late checkout; you won't get one. Plan on reserving two weeks or more in advance, because with few alternatives, this is it for decent RV parks in the Portland metro area. - Pdx discovery
Jul 2018 - $55.00
Beautiful atmosphere but very tight roads and sites - we have 4 slides and there was no room to set up chairs to sit outside - lawn sloped to much. Barely room to park our toad. Good water pressure, lots of cable channels. - travlingtrio

Park hosts are helpful, provided information about shops, laundry, etc located close by. Clean grounds. 30 amps only, electric & water at sites. Dump station close by- easy access. Sites are close together. River view is nice- if you can see it from your site. This is a city park- gates are closed between 10pm & 5am. Overall, average. - TJJones
Sep 2017 - $30.00
We stay at this park whenever in the Portland area. There is not an abundance of RV parks in the area with a reasonable price. For the value, this park works well for us. We like the river view sites for the extra $5. 30 amp electric with water and a dump station available. Sites are close together and on packed dirt. Host suggested keeping things secured outside as there are homeless people in close proximity. Host very active upon arrival and throughout the day . Gate closes at 10pm. - Dick & Bev
Jul 2017 - $30.00
Hard to rate. A bit noisy with the park in front and next to rv area. A good value for location to city. Good place for a couple days. Lots of shopping close by. - Candy pop

A beautiful, very large Oregon state recreation area. There are two campground loops, A loop which was older, sites were closer together, more treed for shade, and no sewer hookups. B loop is newer, sites have a bit more space and have sewer hookups. Less shade in B loop, but there is some. Several miles of pretty walking/biking paths. Very dog friendly with waste stations and large non fenced exercise areas. We loved this park and look forward to a return visit. I think most sites in B loop have clear sky views for satellite reception, but ours was one of the few which did not. - Jerry and Betsy
Jun 2018 - $28.00
Only negative was the amount of continual dog barking. I and others spoke with two of the park host... and much to their frustration as well, they told us their "hands were tied" as the State Park Officials in charge are "concerned" more about hurting the feelings of a few dog owners that cannot control there dogs, than the majority of the campers that are paying to stay and enjoy the State Park as well. - Full Timers 2
Jun 2018 - $1.00
I almost passed this park up after reading the most recent review. Glad I didn't. I suspect the person writing that review confused this place with some other park. There are no long term campers here. The park is lovely, with lots of trees and grass, and well maintained. It's very quiet, being several miles off the interstate. The road in is a narrow two-lane with no shoulder in places, but it wasn't too bad, as there was no traffic on it. There is a nice, if very short bike trail in the park. No wifi, but Verizon worked fine for me in the B loop. Trees might affect coverage in some parts of the park. Got a few local tv stations. Site wasn't too far off level, had barely enough room for slide on driver's side, due to foliage. Very peaceful, relaxing place. - KAP99

Our first stay at this park. Easy access from I-5, can be a little confusing as it is off the access road to the Outlet Mall, but our GPS took us right there. Nice staff. Clean park. Sites are not spacious but they aren't tight either. Quiet. Park provided cable was unimpressive. A few channels were clear, but most were fuzzy. That is my only complaint. Great for an overnight. Just a few miles south of the I-205 interchange if you use that to get around the Portland metropolitan area. We would stay here again. - kandbbrown
Oct 2018 - $43.00
Sites are paved and level, but close. No problem unless you don't care to sit around your neighbors sewer hose. Satellite friendly (No trees). Tables must be requested, they come with a rental fee. The managers were very courteous and helpful. The highlight of the stay was the catered dinner they prepared for us the night of our Good Sam Chapters arrival. We will return. - Old RVer

The park has terrible TV service. The WIFI is also terrible. There are NO amenities. One would think for the price that you could at least have a picnic table. Didn't use the bath or laundry, so I can't say. Many full time campers. Cars in the way of other vehicles. Parked o driveway. - rvfool
Oct 2017 - $60.00
This is a great place to stay while visiting Portland! The campground is safe and friendly. The WiFi is SO bad and is one of the anemities that we expect to be good at all campgrounds or we don't return. It is the year 2017 after all! So if you don't have any use for WiFi this is a perfect campground for you. - Howls_Castle
Oct 2017 - $40.00
Spent a week plus a couple of days at Roamer's Rest. Clean and simple park, with basic amenities like full hook ups, pull through sites, shower, restrooms and laundry. No playground, no picnic tables, no swimming pools or fenced off dog areas. Pleasant walk by the river. Book early - this popular park fills up quickly!
I woud have stayed longer to finish some business of mine, but they were booked over the weekend. Definitely my go-to place when I visit Portland. - HeraSTREAM

The understanding of Elk Lodge camping was for traveling Elk members to have a safe, clean overnight stay stop. This lodge rents out spaces for long term, some even permanent live in year round. No reservations accepted, yet people are allowed to pay ahead for a spot and not actually occupy it. There are unoccupied trailers there that are actually for sale. Members are turned away due to no space available. Very disappointed with this Elk campground. - Followin the Sun
Apr 2013 - $10.00
For Elk's members only (see www.elks.org for membership info). A good, clean, safe place for an inexpensive overnight stay while traveling through the area. Nothing fancy, but pretty well-kept grounds. Water and 20/30 amp electric only. Voltage was on the low side to start with and was easily pulled down to below acceptable with a load applied. There are no sewer connections and no dump station is on site. The sites are off the main lodge parking lot, reasonably level, gravel covered, and close together. You won't be putting out an awning here and wide slides could be a problem. While big rigs should be able to maneuver through the park just fine, fitting into the sites lengthwise could be a snug fit unless you allow the back of your rig to hang over the rear of the site. The camp host present during our stay was very friendly, as are all Elk members! A W-iFi signal was available, but we didn't attempt to use it. AT&T had strong signal strength and our Verizon MiFi worked great. - Gyropilot
