Very nice, fairly new RV Park. Nice wide paved roads and pads, good utilities, nice landscaping. It's well located for exploring the Medford/Jacksonville area. It would be about a 1.5 hr drive up to Crater Lake. There's a nice wide paved bike trail right at the entrance to the park. You could bike the 20 or so miles all the way to Ashland. Also the park is surrounded by ponds which are stocked for fishing. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stay here when in the area as there aren't many options in the area. This area was in desperate need of a new park, but due to the design layout and development of this park it fell far short of filling the need. The rating continues to decline with each visit. This time the cause is a change to the reservation policy. The reservation policy posted on the website shows a fee to make reservations on line ($8) or by phone ($10) so we usually make reservation in the office for our next stay to avoid the fee. When we made reservations in the office for this stay, didn't notice that a fee was charged for the reservation ($10). When we called to question the fee, the employee claimed that all reservations have a fee. When challenged with the website information, the employee claimed that last person not to charge the fee when the reservation was made in the office was a 'seasonal' employee who was unaware of the policy. Since the website information was not accurate, the employee was going to have the website changed but didn't offer any adjustment to the fee as compensation. But there is a FEE FOR ANY RESERVATION. The park is visible and a short drive from I-5 (Exit 33) along a secondary street. The problems begin upon entering the park. The office is past the entrance & several rows of campsites with registration parking on either side of the office which could result in extra passes thru the park to reach your site and exit. The interior roads & parking pads are paved. The roads & turns are sufficient to maneuver larger RV's but there are tire tracks in the grassy areas along the sites and signs warning to stay on the pavement. The sites are a mixture of back-ins and P/T's. The P/T sites were long enough to say connected to a toad unless you want to connect to utilities & don't have long cords/hoses. Sites had sufficient room for opening slides but there will be some vegetation encroachment. Most of the premium sites are closest to the interstate but surprisingly quiet. Reservation fee: $8/online & $10/phone (or in person). Laundry: 2 washers & dryers - cost was $2.00 for washers & $1.50 for dryers. But couldn't extend drying time a quarter at a time (2018). We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

The lady that checked us in was very nice. Our site was long enough that we didn't need to unhook our toad. All the sites are paved, beautiful grass. We didn't notice noise from I-5. We will stay again in the future. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

Very clean park. Each spot has its own grassy area, picnic table and fire ring. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers on site. $2.00 a load to wash and $1.50 for 30 minutes in the dryer $0.25 for each additional 5 minutes. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We really enjoyed our stay at this park while touring the area. Close to Jacksonville (which we love) and the wineries (which we love, love). Folks at the reception desk were quite friendly and helpful. Everything was quite clean. Very nice, well maintained, green areas. Nice area to walk our pooch. Our pull through gave us plenty of space. Will be returning this Spring as we pass thru to a trip to the southwest. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed in a back-in site, J3, at the back of the park, which is quieter and not a problem for us to back our 31ft 5th wheel trailer into. Spots are on a diagonal to the park road, and do not feel too close to neighbors. Some bushes between sites. Rows L and K are closest to I-5 and highway noise. This park is operated by the county park service and is adjacent to several public fishing ponds that are pleasant to walk around. The park is next to county fairgrounds, within walking distance if there is an event happening while you stay. BBQ and Brew event while we were there. Excellent wifi, no cable TV and we could get only a few OTA stations. Clean and well-kept grounds. Quiet at night. About 7 minutes north of Medford, in the town of Central Point. Would stay again. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent Southern Oregon Park. Very friendly office staff. The trees and bushes are growing up very nicely. I had planned to stay 2 nights but the smokey air was so bad we left a day early. This park is 7 hours from Sacramento so a perfect days drive for us. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

We arrived unfortunately during the fires so we decided to stay only one night. We had reserved 3 but were told everywhere we wanted to go had a fire so there was no point in staying longer. Visibility was terrible. The staff when we checked in was very sympathetic and we were told our next two nights would be cheerfully refunded; which they did. The sites were clean, new and nicely maintained. The restrooms were clean. We didn't take in much else because the fires had almost burned to their property liens. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Park is next door to the fair grounds Park will NOT accept mail or packages for RVers. This is a beautfiul park right on Bear Creek with a nice big pond. Very well lined up with nose and tail of the RV facing East and West. Park was built in 2017 so trees are small but each site has large grass area on each side and beautiful landscaping. Access of Hiway 5 was easy and entrance to park is by gate 5 of the fairgrounds. Park is close to Hiway 5 and an airport but not too much noise from either one RV pads are black top and level. Sites are very wide so no problem with big rigs opening slides and awnings. The electrical utility box (20/30/50 amp) and water are located in the middle and the sewer connection situated at the back of the site. The voltage was good - hovering around 120 volts. The premium sites are the back-in rather than the pull-thrus. Each site had a concrete patio with a picnic table and a fire ring. Free WiFi that actually worked. Verizon air card and cell phone reception was good. There is a dog run and 2 fishing lagoons. The street lamps do a good job of lighting the roads around the campground. There are no bugs in July. We will definitely return to this park. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Located north of Medford at the county fairgrounds this park is by far the best in the Medford-Ashland area. It's a relatively new park so the trees have yet to mature so there is no shade which will improve in years to come. Access is good right off I-5 with a Pilot-FJ at the exit. Did not us use WI-FI, or bathrooms. Sites were large enough for our MH and toad. Services and restaurants were nearby. The park was well cared for with maintenance and staff very friendly. Two lakes with fishermen were right out our windows. Crater Lake less than two hours away. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Motorhome.
