This was a very nice Thousand Trails. We stay three nights from September 27th through September 30th, 2019, in campsite D15, the stay was free due to our Thousand Trails membership. Our site had electricity and water hook up. The site was level and backed up to McPhillips Drive, we could hear vehicles passing during the day, however, the night was not an issue. The site was quiet and very private. The tall trees and bushes separated us from our camping neighbors. No Tmobile service while at the campground, so we had to drive a mile down road to Pacific City to make a call. The campground is at an elevation of 75 ft. and our 28 ft travel trailer easily fits with room to spare in our site. Once we entering the campground, the campground roads are all asphalt as we selected our campsite. This is a very quiet campground, activities we found at the campground to keep busy were Billiards, a very nice indoor pool, and a warm outdoor spa. The campground has clean free showers, plenty of hot water and not more than a 5 minute walk from our campsite. Since we arrived on a Friday school day, the campground was not full, there was no waiting for showers. My wife and I enjoyed the campground, we hiked at Cape Lookout and Cape Kiwanda. Had a great time, we will be back to stay at this Thousand Trails. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here on our TT Membership. We would stay here again as its a nice area to be in but maybe on vacation when we don't need to be connected for work. You are literally over the 101 to the beach! You can walk or drive your vehicle down and on to the beach! This is a nice and woodsy spot with pretty good separation or vegetation to lend privacy between spots. The roads are overdue for a repave and are very bumpy and pot holed. Two sets of bathrooms are out of order and they have outhouses for those in need. **If you rely on wifi or cell, this is not the place for you.** We stayed in B loop and I was able to get 2 bars boosted and enough data to be connected. If you are not boosted, forget it. For us, we had to go to Kape Kwanda for Verzion connection. They offer wifi at the family center but it's not very good. The pool, hot tub, and park are nice and maintained. The sites are dirt and not level, with a table and fire pit. The staff was always friendly and had a good presence around the park. This park is in need of some reno and upgrades but it shouldn't stop you from staying here. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Based on other reviews, we were expecting terrible things at this campground, but found that the campground fit our needs fine, and we enjoyed our stay here. We had a full service site with plenty of shade. The site was clean, level and private. True, we were without our electronic devices while we were here, but we just went down and got free movies at the office and watched them. We knew when we took the site we wouldn't be able to get our Dish TV because of the trees and could have chosen a sight where our Dish worked if we had felt that strongly about it. We're self-contained, so lack of a bathroom isn't a problem for us. We did, however, talk to the contractor working on the bathrooms. He has a year-long contract to renovate them, so it will be a while before they are fully restored. The 2 bathrooms on our loop were open and working, though. The only problem we had with this campground was the narrow, bumpy roads. They are REALLY narrow and hilly and need to be widened out. Despite the roads, we will stay here again when we come back to the area. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

A large campground near beach, 300+ sites. Narrow campground roads, quite hilly. There are lots of trees which makes it reasonably nice. It's also nice for walking around. There are several trails and a short trail to the beach. Our poor rating is due to several things. One, cell coverage is virtually non-existent. Two, the campground advertises it has wi-fi at the lodge, but it's a very poor setup -- incredibly slow and half the time you can't get email or access websites. Finally, they had two bathrooms closed with porta-pottys set up outside the bathrooms, and a number of campsites on the lower level were blocked off as not usable. Signs on the bathrooms said "remodeling" but a fellow camper told us later they had heard there was a sewer issue. A third bathroom closed while we were there for "repair" and didn't open again during our stay. My "poor" rating is due to the communication (or lack of ...) on these issues. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Sites were inconsistent on gravel placement. Ours was good, our friend's was not. Damp, wet, leafy...no signs of clean up to make sites accommodate their rigs. Too few sites with full hookups. We drove thru an Oregon State campground and staff was busy blowing leaves from sites. We never saw any staff doing anything at this park to make it welcoming. Lots of signs saying "Pardon our Dust" but no work being done. That would have been so appreciated at this membership park. Disappointed on our first try with our new membership. Hoping other Thousand Trails campgrounds shine. This one did not. It served our purpose but we were disappointed. No phone service, no internet...it was okay, we had fun regardless. Not walk-able town, but walk to beach was great. Sites are scattered in sections as you go up a mountain. Some rigs look abandoned with massive amounts of mold growing on them. Not a lot, but still surprised they are allowed to be there. Even the "rig used by housekeeping staff" was covered with mold. Most picnic table were in disrepair, moldy, or broken. We "borrowed" a newer one from an empty site. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in a 50 amp site with sewer. The site was level and private with the surrounding trees and shrubbery. Our stay was peaceful and quite. The beach is right across the highway. Two sections (A&B) were closed. We didn't use the pool or restrooms. The family center is nice with good WiFi. Cell reception was nonexistent for us but we were able to get reception anytime we left the park going into town. Interior roads are tight but manageable. If I could rate this park in the negatives I would. The ONLY good thing is most sites are private due to trees and vegetation. It is the most disgustingly dirty, filthy place I have ever stayed in. The indoor pool deck is THICK with black mould and algae as are the walls. It was so filthy that I felt it was a health hazzard. The ladies showers at the pool are likewise caked with black mold and grossly dirty; cleaning appears to be a cursory floor wipe and that's it. The pool water was fairly clean but the black algae/dirt was all on the floor of it as it was impossible to get in without getting goo on your feet. Just Gross! Almost every bathroom was closed and replaced with portable outhouses as were the Sani Dumps. Only 1 was functional for the whole park. A small kids "playground" just above our site was partially flooded with what appeared to be sewage seepage and the dry grass there was chock full of these nasty needle like burrs. My site looked like it had some gravel at one time but was mostly dirt littered with old cigarette butts. Only saw one lone fella doing maintenance/cleaning and obviously many more hands are needed in a place this size. The roads are steep and narrow and difficult to negotiate with larger rigs. They won't tell you which areas are full, forcing you to drive all around looking for a spot. Ridiculous system. I am 60 yrs old, been camping all my life and have never seen such a run down filthy place. The Family Center upstairs was decent although the WiFi was very spotty. Mini golf was literally falling apart and rotting, although the grandkids still had fun in it. Will try upload a few photos of the Gross filth. A few minutes drive to some very nice beaches, but would never return or recommend this unmaintained dump to anyone. Too bad cuz it has the potential to be a nice place with some work and upkeep. This is a membership park. It is a great location across the street from the beach and just two miles from Pacific City. The park is very large with nearly three hundred spaces. It is located in a wooded area. Our space was quite private although some were quite close together. There is no sewer in this park but it does have dump stations. They have a pool, hot tub, mini golf, pickle ball and a community center. We enjoyed our stay. On the downside there is no wifi or cell service in the area... it is like a technology black hole. There was wifi in the welcome center that we were able to use. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

Let me start with the positive. We loved our site. Gravel surface, very spacious with high shrubs providing us privacy from our neighbors. I had a great ocean view from my kitchen window while washing dishes. Also, without exception, every staff member we had contact with was super nice and helpful. The park needs some significant help. When we arrived, there were signs posted warning of water contamination. That was supposed to have been corrected several days into our stay, but we stuck to bottled water for us and our dog. We didn't have full hookups so used the restrooms. They truly needed a major cleaning. I went to do laundry and the laundry room was so filthy, I went to town to do laundry. On day 3, we ran out of soap in the restrooms, on day 4, paper towels and on day 5 toilet paper. On day 6 the restrooms were shut down entirely for another 5 days while we were there due to a water main break. It happens, but another restroom was shut down the entire time we were there so with two shut down you can imagine the backup in the open facilities. The park is very congested. A ton of traffic going well beyond the posted 5 mph speed limit. I will say the roads have been paved and the potholes mentioned in prior reviews no longer exist. We are Thousand Trails members and have stayed at many TT's and am sorry to say we will not return to Pacific City. We were that disappointed. Just left what could be a great place to camp if things changed. They claim to have full hook up sites but most are taken by permanent residents. While there, they closed down the nearest dump station but I don't know why they just hung a note on it. With the narrow roads it makes it difficult to go and use the dump station. No dog park or grass to walk your dog. Only the roads that you have to dodge traffic. The garbage cans over ran every two days. Went to use the laundry only half of them worked and no change. Went to the office for change since the store was closed and they only had 2 quarters. It's camping season people! We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

So we checked in all excited about the location and could not wait to go to the pool and then the beach. Well...we were notified that the water was contaminated, so you had to use bottled water and/or boil. Next, they told us the pool was closed because of Algae build up. Half of the laundry machines were out of order. The store was closed and no idea when it would open. These were things we were notified of when we checked in. What a shock! So... we decided to check in anyway and proceeded to find a site. We lucked out and found a fantastic sewer site, private, and large (long and wide). We leveled out, hooked up, and went to check out the bathrooms. Yikes! Very nasty! The dumpsters just outside of the bathrooms were overflowing with trash to the point is was stacked up on the ground and on top of the dumpsters providing a horrible odor. There is NO cell service in the campground. The beautiful lodge offers wifi, so they say, but we could not even get our email or surf the web. A short trip into town was a breath of fresh air. Not good! Not well kept!. Don't go with an RV. Not well maintained! Sick from water! Don't go here! If you like a well maintained campground, this is not it! We will NEVER go back there again. We have a 32 foot fifth wheel. We were there for the 4th of July week expecting to have a great time with full hookups in our new RV. What we found instead was that the roads are too tight, the turns too small, the trees and shrubs not trimmed, the hills too steep, so that it is SCARY trying to get through the campground. Even the map was wrong! No Wi-Fi, no TV, broken table and fire ring. People were sitting in the office to try to use their phones! We could not find the sewer hookup because it was so overgrown. We had to trim back the bushes ourselves to even use it once we found it! Another larger RV tore off their back spare tire in a tight turn on a hill, lots of people MAD! Water bad, and diarrhea to top it off! They sent an email to boil water that we received too late! We had already left early, and we were glad we did! The bathrooms needed to be repaired and updated, gross, broken tiles, etc! This campground is not up to standard! A lot of the sites that would have been available are rented year round with no one there, or there is a cabin there instead, so site choices are more limited. So, if your standards are LOW, go here. We went to South Jetty instead, much better, and finished out our vacation there with Wi-Fi and TV, and good water, etc. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Looks to have been a very popular place in the 90s. We played ping pong and pool in the family center. The family center had board games and equipment rentals but in poor shape. Miniature golf was in very poor condition: falling apart, animal feces, sharp edges. Roads falling apart almost everywhere. Narrow roads and steep climbs to get to RV sites. Closer to the top there are a few good spots to view ocean. Those spots are mostly rented to long stay members and not available to the rest of us. Restrooms were clean and well-maintained. Go for a nice place to park and sit, not for the amenities. We camped at Pacific City RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

When we registered we were given a map and told to take anything open but no purple. The sites were very poorly marked. The sites were extremely uneven. The Class A next to us had the front wheels 6 inches off the ground. All the amenities were at the far end of the camp--quite a hike. Everything looked old and worn, this place needs a lot of updating. No TV or wifi at the sites. Only sites for members had sewers. Stayed two nights. When we left the power was out and the dump site was flooded. Not worth the money. Could have stayed at a stat park Don't waste your money was not worth the asking price of $60. The good: beautiful, heavily wooded sites. BUT: Thousand Trails/Encore never fails to disappoint. I do not complain about too many trees but as they market themselves as a "resort," I expect certain amenities. If you have wooded sites that preclude sat reception and are remote enough to have no over air TV, cable TV service is expected. I do not go camping to watch TV but expect to be able to see the news as I have my morning coffee. If I didn't care about that, I'd be tent camping rather than spending money on an RV. The lack of at-site internet service is also an indication of doing thing "on the cheap". If I want to be cut off from the world (little cell service there, either), I'll dry-camp at a state or national park. No sewer connections at "retail sites" (where non-members are allowed to camp) is another deficiency. Being told to go find your own spot smacks of too few employees to furnish a guide to your site.
The roads are narrow (as are many of the campsites) and the pavement is in need of replacement. Many sites are very off-level and just a truckload of gravel would have cured that and helped keep the dirt out of your camper. Be prepared to do a lot of sweeping. Most sites are only 30 amp service. Luckily for us the weather was cool and we did not need the 2 A/Cs on our coach.
Thousand Trails campgrounds all seem to follow the same business model of "quantity ahead of quality." Most are 300+ site facilities and that apparently is beyond their financial capacity to properly finish the parks. There are many other fine campgrounds in the Pacific City area and I, for one, am sorry I did not patronize one of them instead. Choose wisely. We

Don't stay here with a large RV. Or if you want sewer. For the price it is really sucks. Stay at the Oregon State Park for better hook ups and cheaper price.

Pelican Brew Pub, in Pacific City is pricey, but with a great view, plus they brew their own award winning beers. Typical pub fare, right on the beach. Los Caporales is a good Mexican restaurant in town. Be aware it's closed on Mondays. There is one small grocery store and the prices are what you'd expect in a small coastal town. There's only one gas station too.

Scenic area. Had a good pizza in Pacific City, don't recall restaurant name but on east side of hwy across from beach access. Nice trail at Lookout Cape but was foggy and muddy the day we tried it. Went to Air Museum near Tillabrook, was interesting. WW2 blimps housed in this very large hangar, claims to be largest free standing building in world. Would recommend a visit although the plane collection wasn't that extensive or unique the building itself is cool.

Easy walk to the beach. Several lighthouses to visit. Love the Oregon coast but one has to get used to the foggy, gray skies.

Pacific City is a really cool LITTLE town right on the beach. Climb the sand dune, surf or boogie board. This is a fun place to visit.

Loved Three Cape Scenic Loop, especially Cape Meade's lighthouse. Tillamook Cheese Factory had great cafe and creamery for lunch and ice cream. Further north Ecola State Park overlooked Cannon Beach/Haystack Rock and was great state park. Seaside was nice day trip. Depoe Bay nice little town. Newport Hatfield Marine Science Center was free and really nice. Nice stop going south was Otter Rock. Yaquina Head lighthouse worth seeing as was Devil's Punchbowl State Park.

Pacific City close by with a few interesting stores and an overpriced restaurant/bar as it is right on the beach but such a great view of the ocean!!! There is a great book/thrift store on the main street.
