Wife is currently a camp host. Park is spacious and well taken care of. Some campsites run along the river. Row River bike trail is nearby. Very scenic area. Only downside is lack of hookups. Clean restrooms and free shower facilities. Boat launch is nearby. Volunteer sites have full amenities. Remaining sites are dry camping only. Water, rest rooms and showers are available. Cottage Grove is a town of 9800, 4 miles away and has all necessary needs covered. We camped at Schwarz Park COE in a Motorhome.

Great camping facility. Loved our campsite and the river behind us. I sure wish there was a way to completely eliminate generators. The camp across from us ran a contractor grade generator from 6 am to 10 pm. Sometimes, they weren't even there but left that very noisy, very disturbing generator run the entire day. It really ruined our experience and we wanted to leave but weekend spots are hard to find last minute. This campground is amazing, clean and family oriented. We camped at Schwarz Park COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Loved the Row River Bike Trail which we biked to both ends. If you like riding bikes, take advantage of the Row River Trail. Its beautiful and paved and a lot of fun. Really enjoyed our time on the trail.

Very nice. Tall trees. Our site was in first loop to left as you come in. Spacious sites but were nearest the road and was quite a bit of traffic noise until around 9pm. Even with this it was just a nice site, nice park. To much shade for our Tailgater satellite. We camped at Schwarz Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a lovely park in the forest but with both shady and sunny sites. Paved, level sites and great woodsy hiking trails. Only got a weak 3G on my Verizon. Will definitely return. We camped at Schwarz Park COE in a Motorhome.

About four miles from Walmart on the same road. Cottage Grove has all the usual restaurants and malls. Nice town.

Overall Rating:

I normally love staying at COE campgrounds, but this was an odd one. First of all, it's dry camping, which is the first COE I've come across like that. Second, a COE campground usually means a water view, but the spot they chose here is away from the lake and no water to be seen, it's placed instead in a pretty open meadow area. It came close to feeling like a grassy parking lot. Sites all come with a fire pit and picnic table and the pads are concrete and flat. There is a section that is near the creek so if you can get a reservation, it would be worth getting one of those. The bathroom was in pretty bad shape: one of the toilet bowls were completely broken, the showers had no curtain between the shower and dressing area. They were the push-button type so you could only get about 20 seconds at a time, and less pressure/time if someone was flushing the toilet at the same time (I couldn't believe how constant the toilet flushing was when I chose to shower in the afternoon!). We have to work online as well, so Verizon LTE data coverage is a must, and though we could get a strong 3G connection, LTE was intermittent and couldn't keep a reliably fast enough signal. Fortunately, this stay was on a Saturday so we didn't have to worry about this issue. For an overnight stop, it was fine and since the gates lock after 10pm, it's a secure place. But for a COE, this was the worst I've been to. We camped at Schwarz Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Cottage Grove is just a couple miles away and you can find anything you need there, including Walmart on east side of interstate just as you get off the exit. I even found a car/RV/boat/doggie wash at the end of Davidson Ave past the Chevrolet dealership on left side of the road.

Most of the interior roads and some of the sites are on asphalt. The rest of the interior roads and sites are on packed gravel. Some of the sites are leveled but most are not. The length of the sites also varies. Some sites can accommodate a large class A.

There are a few sites that are not under a canopy of trees. The campground would be pretty crowded if all of the sites were taken. There was one bath house with 2 showers per sex. The bathrooms and surrounding area were very clean. Every site had a picnic table and fire pit.

The COE is a dry campground however there is a dump station and fresh water available at the entrance of this park. Verizon air card and cell phone worked well in this park.

It was very quiet at night. We would definitely come back to this campground if we were in the area. We stayed at this COE with a 32 foot 5th wheel. We camped at Schwarz Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects Nat Park Senior discount. Wonderful, cool, quiet park. Almost full shade in some sites and full sun in others. Paved road and some sites are paved and level. Would definitely stay again We camped at Schwarz Park COE in a Motorhome.

What a lovely park. I can't believe that it hasn't been reviewed before. Run by the COE, it is very clean. Sites are very large; some in the sun and some in the shade. Verizon service is OK but need the amp for the internet. Restrooms are very clean. The only draw back is the NO ALCOHOL rule, even at your site. The ranger made DH pour out his glass of wine. We camped at Schwarz Park COE in a Motorhome.
