This response is with regards to ALL KOA Parks. I cannot understand why the managers, etc. continue to park all RV's next to each other without leaving at least one space between. We arrived at 3:15pm and were assigned space #49. We were in an end space with 7 empty ones to the right of us. At 4:00pm a camper pulled into space 48. Upon examination the other 6 spaces were still empty. And to add to the problem there are 5 spaces across the path with #37 being the end unit. Yes there is a rig in that space when we arrived and the other 4 are still empty. This not the only time this had happened. Along with all the other KOA parks we have had two incidents where there was only one other rig in the entire park when we arrived and, guess what, we were put right next to them. Fortunately we were able to go back to the office, complain and were assigned to another spot. Other than that I have been pleased with all their parks. I just wish they would make that one little change in assigning RV spots. I they fill up fine but at least space the rigs until that happens. - Bill Barnes

Basics: Water and electric at all sites that were open, dump station on the way out. Roads easy to get around on and paved as are the sites. Verizon phone and mifi work but the mifi was slow and the phone iffy. If you go up on the rim you have all the phone and mifi service you can handle. Showers had good hot water, pressure, and were clean. Nice park with shade trees but plenty of clear sky for solar or TV. They have a pet area. There are two C.G.s in Cove Palisades Park. Crooked River CG is up near the East entrance to the park and is close to the rim. The Deschutes C.G. is farther down from the rim. If you come into the park from the West side be aware that the grade doing down into the canyon is probably 10% or more and has some legit 10 mph hair pin turns. If you are uncomfortable on roads like this come in from the East side. Nice hikes to the view looking down into the canyon. If we're in the area we'll stay here again. - pumper9x9
Jul 2018 - $30.00
Clearly a boaters lake campground. Nice clean sites. Some shaded sites in the interior area. Lots of young kids on bikes. Cleared out during the day since everyone is at the lake. I'm not sure which rules they enforce. We saw well over 30 cars and boats parked on the grass throughout the campground and never saw anyone being told to move. Campground really needs to make some site changes. Many sites can't accommodate an RV and car and even a trailer and truck is a tight fit causing some to park very close to the road making it a tight fit for some rigs. They need to add some additional drive way space at the rear or the sides. This was one of the best staffed state campgrounds we've stayed at on the east side of the state. Plenty of volunteer hosts and rangers abound. Even the gate house was open and staffed. I guess they don't want to enforce the rules that they make you aware of when you arrive though. Sites had hookups with 30/50 amp service and good water pressure. Dump station was very clean and modern. Two dump spaces kept things moving quickly. Lake itself is nice though it's very focused on being a boaters lake. Day use area was clean and grassed. Bathrooms were also clean. Keep in mind no pets near the swimming area. There are other fine places for your dog to join you. - Y-Guy
May 2018 - $31.00
Scenic location, atop a Central Oregon high-desert plateau, overlooking Lake Billy Chinook, with views of several Cascade mountain tops. A mix of open and full-shade-tree sites. Many sites big-rig friendly with spacing between sites typically 40-50ft. In summer, CG's lawns frequently watered and mowed Three well-kept bathroom buildings with private shower rooms. Lots of hiking, biking, boating, fishing opportunities within the park. Weekdays CG is often uncrowded. If possible, plan an extended stay. Choose the higher elevation Crooked River CG if you prefer a sunny and breezy experience with delightful mountain vistas. Choose the Deschutes CG if you prefer a generally warmer CG that is closer to lakeside hiking and boating. - Kona Boy
Jun 2018 - $32.00
We love it here - quiet, clean and beautiful scenery. The park is kept in pristine condition by a group of volunteers and the rangers. The road into this campground is along a cliff skirting the river at the bottom of a gorge and a narrow one lane bridge across the river. It is accessible for large rigs - just requires care and slow travel. Dog area in campground is a very nice large grass fenced area. - Jerryandsherrie
Aug 2017 - $34.00
Loops A and C include almost entirely full hookup sites, which is a bargain for the price. The best and worst things about this campground is the drive in. It is 4 miles down the canyon on a road with no guard rails and over a bridge, however, the view as you go down into the canyon and view the reservoir is incredible! However, the distance and steep drive means you cannot run out to a store if you forget something. Campground roads are good, and sites are paved, but when it is crowded, you might have trouble with a very large rig, especially with a toad. Also, the camping pads are too narrow to the point where you step out onto dirt instead of asphalt--another two feet in width would have kept you out of the dirt. Another negative is that the campground is nowhere near the reservoir, so you really need to drive and have a boat or something for swimming. I did not see a beach, although they may have one I did not find. Also, no cell service or data through Verizon available and few spots will allow satellite signals. Price includes $8 reservation fee split between two nights. - judy_online
Aug 2016 - $32.00
This is one of our favorite places to come. We've stayed in both A and C loop and had a terrific time! The staff is super friendly and the spaces are perfect for our size travel trailer. We do not have a boat but we rented at Cove Palisades Resort & Marina - Very affordable and perfect for getting out into deeper water for fishing. Everyone is super awesome and friendly showing how to use the boat features, goes over safety, provides life jackets, etc... The facilities are really clean and we love the little mini 'store' at the entrance gate. We've often forgot something - and they have had ice cream which is awesome on the hot summer days! - WereGoingCamping
Aug 2017 - $7.00
We stayed during the eclipse and it was very busy! The hosts we're excellent and worked hard not only to get as many campers into the campground but keep it clean and orderly. The lake is lovely to look at but was a quite green with algae and we worried for our dog. The campground is on a hill so some of the sites are not level but sites 14, 17, 18 and 22 were quite level and plenty long enough for our 40' MH and car. The only water is in a pull through area and easy for big rigs to get into. The bathrooms are vualts and are kept clean and we'll supplied but still smell like vualts. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to go back. - rhianna
Apr 2017 - $15.00
Typical USFS campground. Paved sites, not level. - Pbeh
Aug 2016 - $8.00
East campground known as "Haystack" is very nice, but only one water spigot. Dump station in town of Culver. 2.5 miles away. Group campgrounds had no water but otherwise were adequately equipped and clean with exception of broken glass everywhere. - Doug Toye
Jun 2017 - $20.00
Full hookups, WiFi, great views, and a nice helpful owner. - summerdude
Sep 2015 - $17.00
Very nice camp and camp hosts. Very clean, park was full. Good water, good electricity, good sewer hookups. Very good WiFi. Gravel, hot water in showers which are clean. Sites are close to Crooked River bluffs. About half residents seemed to be seasonal. - Jim Lee
Jul 2015 - $27.00
We stayed in our fifth-wheel for 4 days. We made a mistake with our reservations and they still accommodated us. Apparently lots of the customers come and stay for 3 or 4 months during the summer, but the park owners are on site at all times and so the sites are clean and the park is extremely quiet. Not a place that caters to children, as no play areas, but we prefer the quiet. Bathrooms are the cleanest I have ever seen at an RV park. Wi-Fi is fine for basic use and they tell you it is not designed to watch Netflix, etc. TV reception is great. Would definitely come again. - mrs-c
Apr 2018 - $21.00
Made reservations 43 days prior to our arrival. When we arrived they did not have a space for us. Sent us to another RV park claiming they were their "sister" park and said we were all set up there and they knew we were coming. That was not true and they told us they had sent other RVers over saying the same thing. Copper Ridge also made an unauthorized charge for a deposit for other people on our credit card. After numerous calls to Copper Ridge with no response trying to get my money refunded I finally turned it over to my my credit card company as a dispute and they resolved it. We had a 40 ft MH and the park is very crowded and small. They did not have a space large enough for us in the first place. There was not even a manager in the park. The other RV park did accommodate us and assured us they are not affiliated with Copper Ridge in any way. Would never stay at Copper Ridge! - Ron Rusher
Aug 2017 - $49.00
This is a wonderful quiet park. The area surrounding the park is amazing. You are close to many things to do. The manager lives on site and it's easy to get information or problems fixed right away. This is a very friendly place to stay. The Wifi was just newly installed and has a very strong signal. There is a very inexpensive laundry facility onsite as well as showers and bathrooms. - Laura58will
Apr 2015 - $33.00
Yes majority were permanent residents. Their sites clean and well maintained. It is an older park but clean and well maintained. Staff friendly and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and would stay again. We have a 31 ft motorhome with 2 slideouts. Site was fairly level and full hook-ups good. - Foucek
Sep 2014 - $35.00
Very friendly staff and large pull-thru sites with full hookups. Office wasn't open when we first arrived, but instructions were clear and had no trouble finding an open site. Some permanent residents which was not a problem. Hookups worked well and were well placed. Will probably come again. - frmOregon
Sep 2018 - $30.00
Crooked River Ranch RV is very clean, well maintained and has great staff. It is a bit off the beaten path, but we explored the area and enjoyed the sites. We stayed 2 nights with our caravan group. They allowed us to use a covered pavilion for a dinner. All of us had gravel back in sites. We had a large grass area behind our sites and it offered some nice shade! - NYParsels
Jul 2018 - $36.00
Stayed in our 43' 5th wheel. It is dusty and you have to drive the dirt road to get to the office. We stayed in the C loop and our site was long enough but not level. Park is quiet. Pool is quite a distance from the park. - KSTraveler
Jun 2018 - $36.00
Nice park with full jookupz. Downside was charge for showers, pool not near campground. Campout with High School classmates and staff friendly and made sure we could all be camped together. Sites were basically level and plenty long enough. Bags available throughout park to pick up after pets. Very quiet. Seldom saw anyone after 8 at night. - Roaming from CA
Jan 2017 - $20.00
We found this park in a snow storm at night. It's a short distance from 97 but noise is no problem. Unfortunately the problem arose when we turned in and soon realized there was no way we could turn around due to the deep knee high snow. We pushed on into the RV park itself where maybe 10-12 fairly permanent RV's are. We couldn't stop so continued and thought we'd turned back onto the exit road but got stuck.
Luckily we could back up enough to connect to a power outlet and as it was a Saturday we had to stay put till Monday when the office opened before we could get help to get out.
After dealing with more snow and freezing rain over the next day I was able to connect with a man who kindly sent out a plow to dig us a path. Several tries and we were free. Thank you!
I'm sure it'd be a nice place during the summer but it would be nice if the they sent a plow through more often during snow events or also had an emergency number during weekends. - Grums
Dec 2014 - $16.00
Rate reflects 30-amp weekly rate. Nearly level, well-gravelled, wide lanes, fenced-in and relatively quiet. Each site has a pedestal grill and small Juniper tree. Largest pet area I've ever seen. Excellent for overnight or base camp. Six pull-through sites, all 50 amp with maybe a dozen more 50-amp back-ins. Scores of 30-amp back-in sites that are "end to end" meaning that if the other end is vacant, you have a pull-through, at least until someone wants the other end. - Old Mountain Man
Oct 2014 - $18.00
Price reflects the Good Sam discount and the 30 amp service. The sites were gravel and level. Each site had a raised hibachi and small trees. There were mostly pull-throughs and some back-ins. We had lots of room to move around our 43’ rig. This park is a good value for the price. We would come back again. - Lollyp
Sep 2018 - $40.00
This is a great park. They have golf carts available! The spaces are tight, and there’s a party vibe here. Not necessarily my cup of tea (or margarita), but lots of returnees and regulars and they seem to enjoy it. - Mtnbchgirl
Sep 2017 - $40.00
What a great park!! This is one of the best parks we have visited. The lake is beautiful. We rented a boat for 1/2 the day and what a great experience. We will be back to this RV park on a regular basis. - TerriJ
Jul 2016 - $40.00
This park caters to monthly & seasonal guests. Its a shame they occupy the prime spots in the park. Many sites are very tight, and grouped very close to each other.
A big rig was parked next to me, and was 10 ft over into my site.
They also had my picnic table.
Advertises free Wi-Fi...but only for 30 minutess, then you pay.
They must not have a leash rule, as dogs were running off leash 24/7.
They have golf carts that guests can use, which is a nice touch, but good luck, as every time I went to use it, it was gone.
I will not be returning. - Mystang
