We've stayed at Armitage County Park twice before, and we'll stay here again the next time we visit Eugene. The sites are large and roomy. The grounds are well-kept with lots of trees and shade. It's quiet even though it's located near a busy road. The internet was a tad slow in the evenings but that's to be expected in my opinion. The cable TV hookup is a great bonus not found at many county or state parks and there were a large array of channels. This is such a great park. We love it. We camped at Armitage Park in a Truck Camper.

We like this park. We have stayed here before. We were put in the only spot that had all sun and no shade. It was 97 degrees that day. When we arrived we were greeted by a nice lady. When we went to do our hook ups there were no cords for the cable and no hooks. I called her she said she would be about an hour and she would be at our site to fix it. We waited 3+ hours and she never showed up. We missed our meeting with our friends because we were waiting for her. I tried calling her with no answe we didn't know if she was still coming. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED! We drove 3+ hours each way for this gathering. In the heat, TO BE DISAPPOINTED! We camped at Armitage Park in a Motorhome.

We have camped here several times when visiting relatives in Eugene or on our way home. It's a very nice county park with a lovely rural feel even though you're not too far off I-5. The sites are roomy, level, and well-spaced. The restrooms are older but pretty well maintained. My only complaint would be that when I had to change days, Lane County charged me a $5 fee on top of the $30 rate and the original $10 reservation fee. That brought the total cost to $45 for one night, which is pretty high for a park like this. Still, we will probably camp here again. We camped at Armitage Park in a Truck Camper.

Stayed one night here. It was our first time. We were very surprised at all the campground offered. Nice large sites, good wifi, and cable tv. It's a county park, not typical private RV park, so it has the "feel" of a state campground. But is a great place to stop for a few nights. Only down side is that there are a number of run-down RVs in the campground. They're not long-term residents as the county won't allow it. But old stuff around. We camped at Armitage Park in a Travel Trailer.

I stay here often whenever I am in the area or passing through because I like the large sites and pleasant atmosphere. Also enjoy the clean laundry room with multiple machines And yes, there are very occasionally people walking through the campground, but none have hung around or bothered me. (They are apparently homeless people camped in the woods area farther down the river, but not close to the park to my knowledge.) If you have been here before, you will be happy to know that there are new, less-grumpy, camp hosts. We camped at Armitage Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very close to lots of RV and truck repair facilities just a couple of miles down the road in Coburg. I have used the REV factory service facility, the Cummins factory repair facility, and Camping World. There is also a Freighliner service facility and several other facilities RVers may need.

As an overnight stop, on our way to our destination, this was a very nice park. Paved roads, trees, grass, clean sites, good utility hookups. We had FHU pull thru. As others have said, staffed office hours do not coincide with check-in times. That being said, we arrived around 3:00p and had absolutely no issues driving right to our preassigned site and setting up. I only have a couple of "nits". First, the shower/laundry facility is kept locked. Since there is no one to check you into your site, you'll need to track down the host or office staff to get the code. Second, there were a few transient individuals roaming through the park. One came traveling through out of the bushes behind our site. We didn't experience any issues, just a little unnerving when you don't see them coming. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Armitage Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Small campground consisting of 32 FHU RV sites with cable, 2 group camping and 8 tent sites. RV sites are a mix of back-in and pull throughs, nicely paved and spacious with a picnic table and fire ring. Interior roads are paved and easy to navigate, although a bit narrow. All of the sites are accessed by a one-way loop, and we had no issues backing into our site (#32) with our 40' fifth wheel and tow dually. The entrance to the park diverts you through a parking area before arriving at the camp office. As others have mentioned, the office has strange hours, especially since they are closed 2-4 p.m. but check-in is 2 p.m. or later. We arrived at 1:30 and had no issues checking in, but we also had reservations. No information (i.e. map, cable channel list, etc.) was provided at check-in except the bathroom/laundry area code, which we were told not to disclose to anyone who asked. Presumably to prevent homeless people from accessing the facilities. The park has a day use area and our site was the closest to the parking area. We noticed one guy parked there every single day and stayed in his vehicle (in 100 degree temperatures!) until they closed the gate at dusk and he left. Some sketchy people rode bikes and skateboards through the campground, which put us on alert to lock our bay doors and not leave anything out (read previous reviewer's posts). First park we have stayed at that gave us an uneasy feeling, which is sad because this is a nice park. There is also has a boat launch and you can easily access the McKenzie river to fish, float or swim. Lots of blackberry bushes and you can pick as many as you want. Bathroom/laundry area is newer, with 4 private unisex toilet/shower combinations and 3 washers and dryers. All were kept clean. Utilities worked well and Verizon service was fair to good. Free wifi provided was slow. Ice and firewood sold at the campground office. Although this is a great park, we would probably not stay here again. We camped at Armitage Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A diamond in the rough! Very nice park away from the freeway. Small but clean and quiet. All paved interior roads and sites. Cable TV and Wi-Fi. Laundry has 3 washers and 3 dyers. All newer large capacity machines. Easy to navigate inside park. No long term allowed. Yay! Very woodsey. We camped at Armitage Park in a Travel Trailer.

The only positive I can say is the dog park was awesome; however, it is not part of the campground, but part of the city park. We paid for three nights but left after only one. Host was probably the rudest person I ever met. Managed to pick up a brochure on my own since none was offered. Was greeted by several large piles of dog poo at our site. The site was filthy with oil and grease. The fire pit was full of ashes. The service pole was full of cobwebs where you plug in, the cable connection has a bare wire so had to get a connection from host. The water connection spigot leaked. Never connected to sewer because we left. Worst part was the amount of shady characters going in and out of the campground and park. First time we have ever locked all our bay doors when in a campground. We camped at Armitage Park in a Motorhome.

This park is part of the Lane County park system. It appears to be well maintained and clean. Roadways and sites are paved. Most sites are back in with a few parallel-to-the-road, pull through sites. It appears all sites are full hookups with 30/50 amps. If reserving online, add $10 transaction fee. Office hours are as noted by other reviewers. Check-in is noted at 2pm, but the office closes at 2pm. We checked into the office, but really didn't need to as we had our reservation and knew the site number we had reserved. You'll need to see the camphost to get code numbers for bathrooms and laundry if you plan to use them. We didn't have any problems with non-campers as mentioned in previous reviews. This was our second stay and we will stay here again. We camped at Armitage Park in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground but it appears that the staff is not in sync with each other. We arrived at about 11 AM and was told that check in was not until 2 PM. Since there is not enough space to wait you have to physically leave the premise. When the other host was on duty he had no problem letting people go their sites before 2 PM. The office hours were a little strange. 10 to 12, 1 to 2 and 4 to 5. However check in was at 2 PM. How does that work? Most of the sites were back-ins and all had FHU. The interior roads and sites were on asphalt. The sites were long enough to accommodate a large rig and tow and were mostly leveled. The electrical voltage was good - hovering around 120 volts. There is a fire ring and picnic table. There is also a large dog run. The bathrooms near the entrance were not very pleasant looking. Steel sinks and toilets and no doors. The floor would use a high pressure washing. The other bathroom was located near the group sites. There are 2 private bathrooms in the front and the other 2 in the back of the building. Next to the bathroom was a laundry. Washers cost $2 and dryers were $0.25 for 14 minutes. Both the laundry and bathrooms had a keypad lock. Wifi was available and somewhat usable. Verizon air card was slow but the cell phone worked well. There is a huge day use area and boat ramp behind of the campground. The gate to this area is closed at 8 PM to prevent people sleeping in the park. There is some road noise from I-5. Overall this is not a bad campground. We would come back to this park if we were in the area. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel. We camped at Armitage Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived after 5 p.m. and there was no camp host on duty to check us in. We were able to find the site fine, but eventually needed to track down the host to get the code for the laundry room (he was cagey about giving it out; apparently they have had issues with the homeless and others using the facilities). The park is spacious but very open without much privacy. Higher-numbered sites seemed to be more in the woods and maybe a little more private (plus closer to the laundry). We camped at Armitage Park in a Motorhome.

We return to this park whenever we are in Oregon. Their online reservation is user-friendly and their cancellation policy is fair. This year we were in SITE 5. It is a back-in with plenty of room for our Big Rig and our towed with full hook-ups. We discovered that we were unable to get the satellite tuned in due to a large tree on the driver's side. We used their local cable. The campgrounds are well kept and the park provides beautiful walking trails. Usually you can just find your reserved site and park. They mark the sites with reservations but make sure you check-in with the ranger to get the codes for rest rooms and laundry. They are a bit picky about giving them out after. We camped at Armitage Park in a Motorhome.
