You will be near the freeway, train tracks, and airport. Expect a lot of noise. Spaces are very close together, but all paved. Staff was efficient, but not overly friendly. There are many signs telling you what not to do. The bathrooms near us were under construction and the walk to the open ones was a bit of a jaunt. I will not stay here again. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We are full timing it and are Thousand Trails members and this is one of those Encore$ parks so we had to pay $20 a night. This is a very large park which is 90% capacitated with full timers who all have some nice (big) rigs and maintain their sites impeccably. I get the impression the people here probably work in the city (Portland). They put us in the transient section near the road where traffic noise started around 5am lasting all day and into the evening. Then there is the air traffic noise starting at around the same time as the Portland airport is not far away. With all that said, if your coming to relax and get away from it all, this is probably not the best park to do so.We did not use the shower or bathroom facilities because a hot water pipe was broken when we arrived (but was repaired the next day) and also because every site is provided with full hook ups. The grounds are very well maintained and each site is on a concrete pad. My husband took advantage of the fitness center, which is kind of rare for Thousand Trails, he said they had updated equipment with a nice variety. Love the people here, everyone just seems more relaxed. We would stay here again as we have friends and family in the area and would be convenient for our rig and less expensive than staying in a hotel. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We chose this park because we wanted to spend time and get to know the city and also take some day trips to Mt. Hood. Which is a lovely drive along the Columbia River and the city isn't far away.Shopping all around you here, Costco, Fred Meyers, Walmart and lots of eateries, especially in downtown Portland. Portland is a wonderful city with super fun food options. Though it's quite a large city you still get a small town feeling. Also the city of Hood River is very quaint.

Parked on top, FHU, had satellite although there are lots of trees around, level spot, good wifi, very pretty around, little pond with ducks and a small gym, heated pool, grassy areas to walk the dog. The pool was small. We never use the pools though and I suppose it would be good for kids. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Our site was right off a major street, which resulted in a lot of vehicle noise throughout the night. The site had a table and a cement pad, as well as full hookups. Bathrooms were a bit dated and too small for the size of the park (over 140 sites). There was a small pool, which was pretty full during the time we were there. Park was clean and the staff was pleasant. Unfortunately using the air hand dryer caused all the lights in the men's restroom to go out. There were several "Full Timers" at the park, however the facility was clean and landscaping well maintained. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very clean and well kept park on the outskirts of Portland. We felt very safe, the neighbors were quiet and respectful. The laundry was clean with a ton of machines and easily accessible and the pool was clean. Very easy access to Portland and surrounding areas. The wifi was strong. The park is in the path of the airport but we didn't notice the planes at night. Negatives - we were one row away from the main street and even ear plugs and the AC fan on high didn't drown out the road noise. The parking sites were also extremely tight for large (dually) tow vehicles - we had an electrical box on one side of our parking spot and our RV on the other. We couldn't open our outdoor kitchen while parked in the space - dual slides would have been impossible. Each parking spot had a light pole with large metal sign you have to maneuver around. It wouldn't be an issue with a smaller car, but pickups beware. We saw some sites that had more room than ours, however. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here six years ago and it has certainly gotten better. I probably gave it about the same rating this time. It is much cleaner and neater in the back area. We stayed up front in site 5 which was barely big enough for us. That left very little room to put chairs out. WiFi was ok at times but evenings almost shut it down. No password so it is not a bit secure. No paid improved service is available. Hookups were set nicely with enough room. I needed two boards under one wheel to get level. Cable was fuzzy but usable. Noise was a factor as our site was adjacent to the busy roadway. It really was no big deal to us but if you are bothered by noise . . . . The sites in the back were well set out but the train that runs through there good be a problem. Actually, several trains. The park is well located for touring, good food and some shopping. It was easy to. Get in and out of. Maintenance is ongoing. They were assembling new picnic tables while we were there. The laundry was clean and reasonably priced. Trash is taken to a central dump station that is a bit of a mess but not too bad. They have a pond with a seating area next to it but the water was a bit scummy. I would use it again and hope further improvements happen. Not a real winner but certainly not a loser. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an Encore Thousand Trails park with 285 sites. We stayed two nights although we are not Thousand Trail members. The entrance to the park is not very large. There was already a motorhome towing parked at the office and we parked by them then another motorhome with tow pulled in and was barely out of the road. There wasn't any room for another MH or 5th wheel. The interior roads are hilly, winding, narrow with a lot of speed bumps. Our site was FHU, level concrete pad slightly wider than the MH with small patio and weathered wooden picnic table. The cable connection (49 channels) is fuzzy but don't know if that was us or them. Verizon had one bar but enough for e-mail and phone service. Park said they had Wi-Fi but we didn't use it. The fuzz from the cottonwood trees was like snow falling and laying a carpet of the white fluff on the ground. There is a train track that runs directly in back on the park. Our site was in the back just across the interior road from the tracks. They ran day and night. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed 7 nights this time. We have stayed here a couple if other times. They have really upgraded the park. Wifi was very good. Sites are wide with enough room to park vehicle next to RV. Didn't use the showers. Good cable hookup. Couldn't get satellite to lock because of southern trees. Staff very friendly and helpful. 50 amp work as it should. From my notes about this park: Big place, lots of sites, popular. Site 28 was not level even with two leveling blocks under the tires. Good WiFi, no password needed so use a VPN if you have one. No problem to connect to it. Sites close together with asphalt base. Good interior roads. Cable TV & over the air signal available. 24 hour laundry. Seems kind of pricey though. The riverboat cruise at Cascade Locks is very good. About $99 per person for a four hour cruise with a lunch and dessert. Local beers available for purchase.

Overall Rating:

The Portland Fairview was unexpectedly nice. The park is larger than expected, with the back half typically reserved for long term residents (of which there seems to be many), and the shorter term guests near the front of the park. The staff was very friendly, Access to Portland was easy, either by driving or Uber. We were originally concerned about the proximity to the airport, but the airplanes were never intrusive. They do accept packages for short term guests, and Verizon signal was good. Our site 17 was quite cramped for the 38 foot 5th wheel and dually truck, and road noise was a little loud being so close to Sandy Blvd. The site came with a new picnic table. I might ask for a site on the other side (in the 60s or 70s) and further from the road. Although they have no dog park, there are plenty of grassy areas to walk your four legged friends. Especially due to the proximity to downtown Portland, I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is more concerned about grass than anything else. The one good thing is the WiFi is excellent. The pads are level and only just large enough for a modern big rig with slides and full size tow vehicle. They have painted the rocks and posts since I was there last. The pads are narrow. At least the interior roads are almost wide enough with the curbs to maneuver with a tow. Cable TV is basic and satellite reception good. It does have easy access on and off I84. Portland city traffic is another issue. The long term residents are migrating to the short terms (overnight guests) area. In a few years this park will be only for long term residents. There isn't a dog park, nor dog waste station or bags. I'm not sure the grass is even being watered where the dogs are being walked. With the resort fee being charged for a few years now, a few things should have been improved for the overnight guests. There are a limited number of RV parks in the area. Most cater to the long term resident. If I can't stay anywhere else, I will stay at another park. If not, then I guess I'll return. At least nothing was stolen this time. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart and Camping World was 1 mile away and easy drive. Office provided good information about the area. Bus stop was three block walk to transfer to MAX station to get to downtown Portland. Senior ticket was half price on the bus or at a transfer MAX station. Multnomah Falls, the second tallest waterfall in the US, was beautiful and an easy 20 minute drive.
