We have been here 4 times before and have always found this basic park to be good because of the location and cost. As usual we had a FHU that was satellite friendly. We found the bathrooms to be older but clean. I was able to get on the Wi-Fi long enough to check the e-mail and do a little web surfing. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice staff but....this is just a clear gravel area with an old but clean restroom and laundry with ancient machines. Take care, dryers overheat. Best to do laundry in town. Sites are very narrow and most are for two campers back to back with their rear ends a few feet apart. You definitely feel like a sardine in a can. Wifi is terrible. Hard to connect, very slow and you do not stay connected for long. Anyone who doesn't have a satellite dish might be able to get two TV stations using their antenna. Dogs? Check their coats for burrs every time you go out. The burrs can get under their skin and get infected. This park is close to the beach but just not worth the price. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great park that is within walking distance to the beach. We were in space G-4 in a 39' toy hauler. It was after dark when we arrived. Host got in his truck and lead us to our site. He then took a flashlight and helped us get situated. Our reservation was last minute on a holiday weekend, but we were lucky to be accommodated. The site has 30 amp electricity and water. There is a dump station for our use that is easily accessible. The restroom/shower building is centrally located. Although older, the showers were clean with plenty of hot water for three showers running simultaneously. Local shopping is limited, as the town is smaller. The local jet boat tour company is very close by, as is the boat launch that gives direct access to the Rogue River. The town has the only hospital on the southern Oregon coast from the border until you get to Coos Bay to the north. We will definitely return again in the future! We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great location with 360 views of the mountains and the beach. Easy to navigate with decent laundry facilities. Great stop if you can't get a state park spot. Had sewer and water but dump station is available and easy to use. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice RV park with partial or full hookups. Located on the jetty between the Rogue River and ocean with walking access to both. Close to town but wouldn't know it. All gravel and sand with good roads and wide level sites. Good free wifi and good cell service. No trees, but plenty of ocean breezes. The staff was nice and helpful. No store but very close to town. Will stay there again. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

As the name suggests, this RV park is near the ocean. It is located on a jetty next to where the Rogue River runs into the ocean. It is an open area with no trees and little vegetation. The area is covered with beige colored crushed rock. Both back in and pull-through sites are available. There are relatively few long-term tenants (some are staff as was the lady that I spoke with in the office). Since the whole area is covered with gravel, navigating is a little strange, but the directions to our site were clear -- and another staffer appeared as we pulled up to direct us into our assigned spot. (Since we use a class B with no toad, we selected a back-in space). Services were at the back of the site (but no problem connecting). Our space in Row C was water/electric only. A clean looking dump station was near the laundry building. (We did not use it.) Typical early summer weather with late afternoon overcast and breezy conditions. The park was relatively empty, but we noticed several arrivals after 8 in the evening, just before dusk. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Gold Beach is a typical Oregon beach town. Prehistoric Gardens ("Dinosaur park") is about 20 minutes north of town and is well worth a visit. For those who are seeking more stimulating adventures, "jet boat" trips on the Rogue River are available from docks near this RV park.

We chose this park because of its location: the view from my front window was the dunes, beach and jetty. The sunsets were stunning and there were seals in the surf every time I walked the beach. This beach is covered with driftwood and, since the Rogue River exits right there, the rock collecting was super great on the beach and along the river (including a lot of agates). The sites are only 30 amps, and have no sewer hookups, but the dump station is an easy reach. Be aware, the wind is mighty brisk right on the beach. We had to bring our satellite dish down one night. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

About 10 miles up the Rogue River, in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, there is a marvelous hike through an old growth forest (search for Francis Shrader Old Growth Trail).

Big rig friendly (63'). 30 amp, no sewer but dump station, pull in site with distant ocean view. Maybe 10 others here late September. Great location for visiting the area. Other than bathrooms and laundry, which we didn't use, I didn't notice any other amenities - but then you don't have to pay for what you don't use anyway. My kind of place. Nice guy who runs the place. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were happy to be able to get in here during the "eclipse" frenzy. This park was far enough south that there was some availability during the eclipse. I think this is our fourth stay here. See my 8/16 review for a more detailed review of the park. Once again we had a pull through near the office that was satellite friendly. There is no cable TV and I did not try the antenna. The laundry small, but cheap and the bathrooms are older, but clean. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It's a 5-10 minute walk to a breakwater/pier and a small stretch of beach next to it. Jerry's Rogue Jets, gift shops, and a restaurant are also only a 5-10 minute walk away. You have to drive to get to the main part of town.

What a find! We were only here for 1 night but wished we could have stayed longer. The staff was so friendly, parking was easy, and it was right across the street from the beach. The park is right between the ocean and the Rogue river. It is behind a small airport but we never saw or heard a plane take off or land while we were there. We did hear the fog horn but it blended into the ambience. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Its not fancy, but a great place to stay. Stayed here in a Class A Motor home the last week of May 2017. This park is located right on the ocean with river / bay on one other side, and airport behind you. Stayed there for 4 nights and only saw a couple of planes land and they were all small so no noise problem. Spaces were level with Sand, Gravel, and Grass. Had Water and 30 amp power. Voltage was good at 120V steady. Water pressure was also good. Dump station was clean, worked well and had water for flushing. Did not use bath rooms but I saw them being cleaned every day and manager was very fussy about how the place looked so I am sure they were in good condition. Friendly, helpful people. Reasonable rates. Spaces were mostly right next to each other and fairly tight, however if you reserve early or come at the right time some spaces were vary spacious and had bushes and trees between spaces. My Dish worked just fine here. I would stay here again anytime. :) We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.

$31 W & E This private campground is located right next to the ocean and where the Rogue River meets the sea. Walking distance from the campground there is a breachway, fishing, boat launch, Gold Beach and the Coast Guard landing strip. One can walk to the town or even closer about ten minutes away along the harbor to the Old Cannery where the Port Hole Restaurant, a coffee shop and the Fishermens' Direct Fish Market is located. The Jet Tours of the Rogue River start at the harbor. You can see all these buildings from the campground which has about 100 sites with full hookups, w & E or even no hookups. The older man managing the campground is very nice and works hard to keep this older park going. Bathhouse is clean and there is a laundromat with some older machines. Every site has a picnic table and there is a group building with a BBQ area. This was an overnight stop for us the Thursday before Memorial Weekend and there were only about eight RV's there so it was very quiet. The wind was blowing when we arrived but at night calmed down. Gold Beach is known for its winds. We did enjoy staying here watching the seals swim and play in the ocean and walking over to the harbor there had to be over sixty of them laying in the sun on a small island. We enjoyed our stay here at an older park and if in the area would return. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Motorhome.
