This is a very large KOA with all the typical KOA amenities plus a few more. Plenty of activities available for kids including an indoor pool and indoor rec center. Parts of the park are shaded and others out in the open. Most sites reasonably level with appropriate placement of utilities and there is good space between sites where we were. Relatively large convenience store on-site. Our initial check-in experience was less than positive and reflective of the often lack of customer focused quality within the KOA organization, but later experiences with this office staff were more positive. We had been staying in Ft. Stevens State Park across the street from this KOA the first half of the week and check-out time was 1 PM. Check-out time at the KOA is 11:00 AM but check-in is not until 3:00 PM. When we checked with the KOA front desk, we asked for an early check-in explaining our situation and were told absolutely not. We were told their maintenance staff needed 4 HOURS to correct any problems at the site. But, during our stay we noted many campers checking in early. All-in-all a nice park if the Ft. Stevens State Park Campground is full, even though the KOA is twice the price. In addition to the daily rate this KOA charges a $10/day "resort fee" for things we did not use. During our stay we noticed the signs on the highway indicated the Fort Stevens Campground was always full the week we were here and the KOA always had vacancies. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Motorhome.

If you have young kids then consider a stay, but if you don't then run away!! They seem to lock the bathrooms in the early morning with a code to keep drifters out, but if you use the washroom at two in the morning the doors will be wide open and you can meet some interesting people. Kids are loud all day because of the many activities for them and then the adults are loud all night. Way too expensive for a couple of overnighters. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Very busy park during the summer months. Lots of kids, dogs and bikes. If you're looking for a quiet get away this isn't the place for you from late June through Labor Day. Very family oriented with plenty of activities for the kids. Variety of sites available. We like the 200 section, especially the back-in sites. About as quiet and out of the way you will find in this park. The 100 section sites are paved and 300 are out in the open with little shade or separation between sites. The 400 section is tightly spaced with not a lot of room. Outside the 100 section all roads and sites are gravel. Sites are generally level. Staff works hard to keep things cleaned up, but there is a lot of traffic. Showers were a mess, but again lots of traffic and sandy dirt tracked in to the shower areas. There is an off-leash dog area. Unfortunately, it is heavily used and not all owners clean-up after their pet. Free pancake breakfast every morning, but be prepared to pay extra unless all you eat are pancakes. We are not fans of the Warrenton KOA, but our grandkids love to visit. Two pools (indoor and outdoor) and lots for them to do. If your goal is to keep the kids or grand kids busy this is the park for you. If you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy the north Oregon coast during the summer months, bring your earplugs and lots of patience. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Fort Clatsop, Maritime Museum and Fort Stevens historical sites are all worth the visit. Great salmon fishing in the lower Columbia in August so be prepared for lots of boats and trailers around. Buoy and Fort George breweries offer excellent beer and good food. Nearby Doogers has outstanding clam chowder. Fultanos Pizza is very good and they will deliver to the park.

Paid a higher than normal rate, probably due to the 7/4 holiday, that being said this is a large, family friendly campground. There are plenty of kid friendly activities; indoor & outdoor pools, activities area, etc. If noise is an issue request a site away from the activity area. Older sites are shady and paved; newer sites are sunny and gravel/dirt. The showers close to our site had dirty floors due to the dirt being tracked in from rain showers. Free pancake breakfast is available and other breakfast, lunch & dinner items for a fee. Laundry was adequate at $3 to $3.25/load. WiFi was poor. Cable TV is available, we didn't use it as we have satellite. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Call ahead if you want to arrive early to make sure your site is ready, otherwise you will be required to wait until check in time at the park entrance. A staff member is stationed at the entrance to ensure you don't enter the park. We would camp here again. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A better than average KOA. There are more amenities here than you can imagine, indoor pool, hot tub, rec hall, volleyball court, etc. The Highway out front has very little traffic or noise. The State park across the street is excellent. It is about a mile and a half walk to the beach, or, a two minute drive. Bathrooms were clean. Showers were hot, cleanliness and water pressure were adequate. We stayed in the off season and paid way less than the other reviewers. We had two disappointments. One, the wifi was very very slow or otherwise useless (T-Mobile cell worked). Two, the KOA allows campfires. If the wind would have changed directions, the fire smoke would have been intolerable. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Motorhome.

Arrived early and told to leave and go across the street and wait until 3pm to check in. Talked to one of the outside greeters and he had me park under some trees in the CG entrance. Very helpful. Very well maintained CG. Lots of families having a great time. Easy to navigate to interior roads. Good location to ride around and see the sights. State park across the street led to the beach. Dogs allowed on the beach. It was a good time. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Motorhome.

Made reservation for a 50amp but they gave us a 30amp that didn't work. Had to wait to get it fixed. The laundry room only had washers. I noticed that there were small rigs in the spaces with 50amp when all they needed was 30. Moved 3 times. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Motorhome.

My family really likes this park, so much so that my kids can spend all day here without leaving. Love the free pancake breakfast, we usually pick it up to go and enjoy in our camper (we also always tipe the staff!). Two pools, ample play space, friendly & very visible staff make this a great place to relax with the kids. We prefer to stay in the paved sites that have great shade tree cover vs. the open field sites. This is where we aim to be when visiting Seaside/Astoria. Overall Rating:

We stayed here as it was one of few parks which had space available without a reservation. Our site was dirt/gravel with quite a bit of slope and weedy grass surrounding the site. Utilities worked fine, placement acceptable. There was adequate space between sites EXCEPT for the neighboring fire rings which were within a foot or two of slide outs. Those that insisted on having a fire (and there were many) choked the rest of us out. Spent most of the time closed up with the AC running.

Being a "family friendly" park there were many activities/play areas for children. This does lead to quite a bit of noise, had 2 nights of kids running around the park throwing poppers until midnight.

All in all a nice place to let the kids run and have fun, not so much if you are looking for a quiet, smoke free park. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Motorhome.

Off season this park could be a 9. In season it is swarming with kids and dogs. We were here Labor Day weekend. The site 313 was very long, level & the width was acceptable. Good 50 amps and satellite service. No grass but that could be due to a long season of kids and no rain. Lots of activities for kids. Great location to visit the beach (you can drive on the beach here and take your dog) and lots of historical spots near by. Personnel is extremely efficient and friendly. A very well run campground. Was able to get a back-in site on short notice. Unable to specify a specific spot unless you pay an additional 10 dollars during online booking? Plus 10 dollars a night "resort" fee. $$$ Was given a spot in the "400" loop. Do not stay there! Site to our left, fire pit 6 feet from slide window, unable to open any windows due to smoke. Sites are too close and recently added tv cable posts at rear of site impede parking units with two slides. Gravel access road was loud and dusty with speeding cars at all times of the day.
