Located about 5 miles (ca. 8 km) off the highway, (Oregon 138) on literally an old bad road that gets to a terrible dirt road in the campground itself. Although a KOA, it is not to KOA standards or expectations. The facility is pretty old and has been around many seasons but it couldn't have been a KOA very long at all. We got no campground map and the KOA signage is pretty non-existent after you turn into the campground. Trees abound and it is VERY TIGHT maneuvering around them. I would NOT recommend any of the really big rigs out there at this KOA! If we hadn't been a 5th wheel I don't think we could have made it to our site. A worker was nearby as we were trying to get safely parked, and we asked about changing to a site next to ours that would have been easier to maneuver to, but he said we couldn't as the still empty site was "reserved." However, in our two nights there, there were two different RVs in that site! The campground and all sites are all covered in fine powered silt dirt, and EVERYTHING inside and out will be covered in the stuff. The sites really need gravel to help combat that dirt and dust. As I have read in other reviews, many of the sites, like ours, have the sewer connection uphill from the RV which made dumping a bit difficult. The campground was actually pretty full and seemed to consist of mainly family groups staying there to meet. The sites are limited, and they mix up RVs and tents. While I love trees, the not well-marked loops are pretty heavily treed for RVs to drive around and through and you can see trees that have been scraped getting around by the too big or too close RVs. I can't see it staying a KOA, and we would not go there again. Our only reason for staying here was the KOA name and the proximity to Crater Lake as it was about a half hour to the North entrance. We camped at Lemolo Lake / Crater Lake North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 6 nights in July. Very remote with no radio or broadcast TV reception but did get 2-3 bars on AT&T cel. Nice RV are with large sites just a quick walk to the lake. They rent kayaks, fishing boats, pontoon boats. Nice little store for emergency purchases. If you come in early summer bring lots of bug spray (applies to all RV sites in Oregon's central Cascades!) Owners are the operators and are very nice. Close to Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. Note that owners just purchased this place a couple of years ago and are constantly updating. We camped at Lemolo Lake / Crater Lake North KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Crater Lake is only a few miles away as is Diamond Lake. Lots of waterfalls to hike to. Many places to fish.

Pros: campground is on the lake, where you can rent a boat, fish and swim. Lots of hiking trails. Close to numerous waterfalls CONS: Sites are NOT LEVEL, and the park is one large dust bowl. Just walking throws up dust, which covers your RV and vehicle. I travel in a 42' class A which I don't recommend that large an RV stay here. We camped at Lemolo Lake / Crater Lake North KOA in a Motorhome.

My site was not level and all sites are all dirt and dust. Sites are quite close together. The main "resort" is across the road. Nice little restaurant with somewhat overpriced food and a nice view of the lovely lake.

Showers cost $0.50/minute, with a minimum of 4 minutes. They are constructed in such a way that you have no privacy when you get undressed and there are no hooks or benches in the shower stall. Weird.

My frozen, pre-formed hamburger and fries at the resort restaurant cost $11.00.

As far as I could tell, there was no one on site to monitor noise and the dogs (lots of very large dogs in the campground) that were roaming off leash. We camped at Lemolo Lake / Crater Lake North KOA in a Travel Trailer.
