Sep 2018 - $20.00
A bare bones place to stay while exploring southeast Oregon. About 12 miles north of Lakeview, across from the imposing cliffs of the Abert Rim. Grass and gravel pull-through, no sewers , no dump station, no wifi. They only take cash. The owner and his assistant, were friendly and helpful. Lots of room for our dogs to run. Lots of junk on the site, apparently due to some issues while the owner was away. We would stay there again when in the area. N. - JacknLorie
Oct 2015 - $30.00
Beautiful surroundings, enjoyed walking the dogs. I'd stay again. Full hookups, showers, laundry, bathrooms. Easy to connect to electric and water. - yama
Jun 2015 - $20.00
A small RV park just south of Valley Falls and north of Lakeview. Beautiful view of the magnificent Abert Rim, and its grand canyon style colors as the sun sets. Larry and Linda are very nice and dedicated Hosts who will do anything for you. Level pull thru's with 50 Amp & water and a few dry camp sites for $15. Only reason it was not rated a 10 was that it did not have a sewer hookup. (One available 2 miles north). No store or fuel but one 2 miles north. Highly recommend for a couple day stop point between Bend, OR and Reno, NV. - Country Coach RVer

Nov 2018 - $35.00
Very convenient to town, and reasonably quiet though located close to Hwy 395; which makes it a good overnight stop. Friendly service. Park is located on the edge of a huge pasture on one side, hills across the highway on the other. Very rural feel, nothin' fancy, not a resort, but well-run. - Tin Teepee
Jul 2018 - $35.00
Very nice owners. Basic camp with everything you need. Was a little tight for our 42' Allegro bus but it worked out great. - lilimo
Jun 2018 - $35.00
Good overnite stop. Friendly people and level dirt full hookup 30/50 amp pull thru sites. Great wifi. No cable or over the air but can ask for satellite friendly site. Watch closely for signs, not many turnarounds on U.S. 395. - teepee51

Aug 2018 - $5.00
Price reflects dry camping. W+E is $25. No sewer at sites; there is a dump station. Showers (2 count) are $3, change machine on site. Dirt/gravel parking lot with dry to the right of the shower/bath house and hook ups to the right. - MichelleKry
Jan 2015 - $15.00
Campground is self-serve. No one on-site, you pay at the kiosk. Six W & E (30 amp only) sites with a dump station. Water is shut off in the winter. A few more dry-camping sites that are five bucks a night. All sites are level, dirt & gravel with not quite enough gravel. It's a cheap place to spend the night before making the long, desolate haul over the hill to Winnemucca, NV - a trip you do NOT want to start any later than mid-day - and not much more. - Old Mountain Man

Name: Cottonwood recreation are / cottonwood meadow lake Forest: Fremont - Winema Closest town: Lakeview, Oregon Directions to campground: from Lakeview drive west about 21 miles to fs road 3870. Turn right and drive ~ 10 miles to campground. Cost: $6/night No reservations 21 sites for tents /RV's up to ~ 30 ft Vault toilets (in good condition) and water spigots situated around (no water directly at each site) Garbage must be packed out. Open early June to mid October (weather permitting) Road is paved to campground. Narrow but with turnouts. Cottonwood meadow lake is a no motor lake (electric OK) so it is very peaceful and quiet. Camp host - however, host is far removed from campsite so we didn't feel very safe there. There are a few sites for horses also. Elevation : 6130 ft Do not confuse cottonwood reservoir with cottonwood meadow lake. The lake is spring fed and nicer than the reservoir (subject to algae blooms). Campground is also mentioned in "Oregon's Quiet Waters" by Cheryl McLean and Clint Brown. - theresal58

Goose Lake State Park is literally on the Oregon/California border. It's a very small state park just a mile off US Hwy 395 and 15 miles south of Lakeview, OR. The CG is older, but well-maintained. All sites are back-in, with black-top parking pads, have water and 20/30 amp service, and are well-spaced and shaded. An RV dump station is located on-site. Besides relaxing, birding, and watching deer graze, the CG offers little to fill your day. Impression: Well-maintained and safe CG to spend a night while traveling north or south on US 95. - Kona Boy
Aug 2018 - $24.00
Very well maintained! You feel you are in a park not in a campground. Spacing is very good with trees between the sites. Campground was once an old homestead with some apple and other fruit trees still here and producing fruit for you to pick. Remote location so you don't need a reservation, plenty of spaces always available. - Charlie M.
Jun 2018 - $24.00
We enjoyed this small campground. It is dated but so good for being out in the middle of nowhere. The sites are all back in, some are longer than others but because it is so quiet and remote, I think you could fit anything in even if it stuck out the front a bit. There are mosquitos. There is a long trail that has been mowed, through the wildflowers and grasses. We were not able to access the lake, but from the highway, it looks like the shore is shallow and weedy. There were lots of birders in the park. The bird songs were numerous. My husband would give this an 8 because of the remote location, but I would give it a 5 because it is so dated. Sometimes, I wish campgrounds would just move the cement barriers back about 5 feet and make each site longer. - saturn7

Great place. Lots of trails to walk. If you are planning to use the lake call ahead because sometimes it is shut down because of algae. - Jim Legoullon
Sep 2018 - $40.00
This is a gem. First do not leave the hiway until you see the park's very large sign. GPS took us off and up a rough dirt road at another ranch! When you see the park's sign, turn in and drive about 1 mile on a dirt road. They have signs to guide you. The park is set up in two concentric circles. As you enter, you will see a large sign giving instructions or you will be met by the camp host. Moving around the park is so easy. You drive in (one way)on the inner ring and pull straight in to your spot. When you leave, you pull out right onto the outer ring. The camp hosts were helpful and friendly. Each site has a tree that separates the sites. The sites are pull-through and they are angled so that there is a feeling of openness (no issues such as extending awnings and intruding upon your neighbor. The utilities were located perfectly for my fifth wheel. Beautiful facilities an beautiful bright green lawns and landscaping. Good wifi. Nice club area. Off the beaten path yet close enough to freeway for this area. This is a working livestock ranch with a lake stocked with fish. Very nice place to sit back and relax. We will definitely be back. . - JanneC
Jul 2018 - $38.00
This is our second time staying at this campground and we will definatley come back of in the area. It's a little off the highway but that's a good thing. It's quiet! Hosts were super polite when we arrived. Large, pull-through sites are level and wide. Great for a single-nighter like us....we didn't even bother to disconnect. The large grassy area in the middle of the campground is great for a kid to keep up on their soccer skills while on vacation! - RMKKPark

This is a remote campground. Gravel 1 lane road with turnouts for entry. A couple sites will hold a 40ft RV. Tight turn for 40ft but doable. Very quiet and close to a lake. Clean restrooms,, no showers, sewer or water. We will go back. It is halfway between Lakeview and Bly. - hdrider
