All the reviews mention a staff member who runs the park and what a hard worker and nice guy he is. Well, everyone is absolutely telling the truth! He is so helpful and nothing is a problem to him He is always available and willing to help. The RV camp is pretty basic but we just wanted a base to work from. We have had a wonderful time and a lot of that is from the ideas the staff member gave us. Great cable TV here also. A staff member even came in and helped us hook it up. Didn't use the showers or bathrooms. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Tillamook Cheese has a wonderful tour. The next day we went to Astoria and toured the Flavel mansion in Astoria. Well worth the time and very inexpensive. We then went up to the Astoria Column which was about a mile from the mansion and the view was AMAZING ($5 parking). Then to Cannon Beach to see Haystack rock which words can't describe. Then we got back to the camp. A staff member told us to turn right out of the camp, go about 4 miles to Oceanside Beach and WOW!

The best part of this park is the cost and the owner who is super friendly and helpful. If you are here for fishing and crabbing this is the place. The turn into the park is on a slight downgrade and it is a tight turn inside the park. The sites are very very narrow. Our neighbor on the passenger side had to pull his awning in so we wouldn't hit it while pulling into the site and again when we pulled out. We didn't fully extend our living room slide for fear it would hit the neighbor on the driver's side. We were in site 1, a pull-thru, and it did have full hook ups and no issues with the hook ups. Very little place to walk dogs, unless you cross the street and go to the boat dock area. There is no WiFi, Verizon signal was good. You are not far from Cape Mears Lighthouse or Cape Lookout State Park and the food at the Upstairs Bar and Grill across the street was good. We stayed September 20-23, 2017 and paid $17 a night with our Passport America discount. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a fish camp. It is not glamping. If you want a reasonable price, with all the services available to crabbing and fishing, this is the place for you. If you want to try a different experience, this is the place for you. Yes, you are very close to your neighbor. Yes, when it rains, you might be parked in mud. But they do a very good job, catering those that want a good value, and want to enjoy some bounty from the sea. Many large rigs and 5th wheels are camped, but, it is tight. It just depends on the experience you want. Very reasonable and clean laundry, baths were clean, but dated, and a great fish cleaning station to keep the undesirables smells away from the M.H. (there is a rodent problem near the cleaning station and trash cans, but, again, I saw staff laying out poison, not a place to walk you dog, but, its clearly marked) I was skeptical when I pulled in, but was totally won over by the staff, the people and the ocean. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For a different experience, rent a crab pot or two, buy a license (Oregon sells a one year non-resident license for $9 more than a three day license $26) and go crabbing. We went to Garibaldi pier, and had a great time.

It is a nice park for the price. Only $15 with Passport America (cash or check only for this rate). Full Hookups, cable, wifi. The wifi was excellent. Spaces are small if the lot is full (they put two RVs side-by-side in a pull through space), but if it is not full, the lots are pretty wide. Close to the beach, Tillamook, etc. They also rent crab and clamming gear here. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I called the park at 9:00 am on a Friday and we were immediately accomodated for the weekend. Our host was friendly and helpful with all our needs. When we arrived he let us chose the site we wanted and helped guide me in. Easy with 32' mh, could be tougher with larger rigs. Unhooking a tow'd before entering the park would be helpful if arriving on a busy weekend. This is an older park but seems nice and safe. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Price reflects Passport America discount. All hookups worked fine, WiFi was excellent. Owner is very friendly and accommodating. There is a small laundry but we had no need for it this trip - but it was very inexpensive. We stayed here for three days due to a medical emergency and thankfully the hospital is only about five miles from here and was excellent. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Friendly and helpful staff. Older park with 20 + RV sites in front and about 18 mobile homes in the back. Power is fine, WiFi & cable are trouble free. Spaces are not large but sufficient. Some are deeper, others not very deep. Although near the road, it is quiet at night. Cell phone reception is fine. Because they rent crab fishing boats, this is an active park. We would stay here again. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

The small overnight travel section was full of Passport America refugees looking for a good deal. The $13 rate (with tax) makes this an okay short stop. Be warned you can't have a really big rig, will need several sewer hoses, leveling jacks, and preferably no need to use their tiny showers. This is a small run down trailer park with a side business for RVers, plus small boats for fishing, crabbing, etc. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good Wi-Fi mostly and 60+ channels on cable TV. Rate is based on Passport America! This is a Crabbing Rental park so be prepared for the boats & people with Seagulls. Dirt/rock sites with mud if raining and medium sites! Not made for large rigs unless you are a really good driver! We camped here with a 31' RV with a 25' tow rig and managed getting in & out without much problems. The staff are friendly also! Would stay again in dryer weather! We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

I have to agree with maneuvering in this park it is tight. Long term residents could be a little neater. I would say this is a Blue Collar camp ground. It seems multiple couples come for crabbing: the aromas! Wonderful. I have been in more expensive and larger parks and did not get the value I received here. It is a good park and I will return in the future. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here based mostly on the price (with Passport America discount), and for $13 for a site with full hook ups, we didn't expect a whole lot. Entry off the narrow, two lane road is very tight. The whole park is tight, and we needed to disconnect our toad to make it in our site due to small radius turns and other vehicles (our motor home is only 31 feet: good luck with bigger ones). Staff is very friendly and helped us with parking. The whole place has a "fish camp" kind of feel to it, with crab boats, cookers, etc. available at extra cost. Showers weren't dirty, just not what I'd like to call clean. Leave your flip flops on. Wi-Fi worked fine. I'd love to come up again as a "guy's trip," and do some crabbing (they say September is the best time), and for that, I'd stay again. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park was a good surprise. It is about 6 miles from the town of Tillamook and easy to drop in on the French Cheese Company, and the Pioneer Museum. Many of the people at this park reside there full-time but it wasn't a problem and the telephone pole is not a problem if you swing to the right side of the driveway. Best of all you are 2 miles from Oceanside and meals at Roseann's are the best. For the price we would stay here again as it is quiet and the owner/manager is helpful and friendly. This friendly campground is right on US HWY 101 across the street from Netarts Bay. The campground is not large and some of the interior turns are tight, but can safely be done with a large RV. For us, this proved to be a great location to branch out and see much of Oregon's north coast. The other campers here, as well as the manager/owner were friendly and helpful when we asked about local attractions. Big Spruce Campground is clean, quiet and we felt safe for the three nights we spent here. We will look forward to returning. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

The access for large rigs is inadequate! Maneuvering for large rigs is poor due to the way customers renting boats park while doing the required paperwork, and the way the rental boats are parked. The roads are gravel sites are dirt, narrow, and not very level, The access is very narrow, entering from a busy narrow road. We were told that 3 coaches in the last week had been damaged by side swiping the telephone pole on the right side of the entrance. I can not recommend this park for anything over 30'.
