This is a basic RV park with gravel roads and pads. Check-in was fast and courteous. All utilities worked well. This is a very friendly dog park with lots of area to roam free. The Alsea river is just a couple of hundred feet away and there are benches at water's edge to sit and enjoy the view. We will stay here again. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This park needs s very small but is a real gem. It's not a resort, just a very nice little park with amazing owners. There is a 2 & 1/2 acre off leash area to walk with your dogs with great views of the river. We saw a herd of elk & seals. The owners will allow you to wash your rig. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Owners are super friendly. Our Verizon cell phone worked excellent. This is the first park where the wifi worked excellent (after almost 4 years of rving)! We were in spot #22.. the honeymoon spot which looks directly out to the river. As others have stated, the area to the river is lovely and much less wind here as compared to being on the ocean. The facilities are spotless and we enjoyed our time here. There is a community fire pit which the owner had lit a few nights when we were there. Would definitely stay here again. This is a small park, 32 sites. It is a couple of miles off the coast, so the weather tends to be much better. You have direct access to the Alsea river, a beautiful area that ebbs and flows with the tides, and host a variety of wildlife. Facilities are limited, but adequate for the size of the park. We used the laundry a number of times. The owners/hosts are amazing: polite, friendly, very helpful. Our gas grill stopped working and Ben the owner attempted to assist fixing it. When that didn't work, he went to his shed and got out a grill for us to borrow. The only downside to our visit was very low water pressure, which I expect is a regional issue. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We booked several weeks in advance and requested site 22 which has an unobstructed view of the river area. Cable TV was provided and the WiFi signal was strong during our entire stay. We didn't use the showers/restrooms but the laundry was clean and reasonably priced. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice, small park, close to many local attractions/ beaches and close enough to Waldport for shopping. The park is neat and clean and the walk to the river front is great for morning and evening reverie. Owners are top notch! We'd definitely stay again! At first look, does not look like much of a park. But it is a hidden gem. Sites are wide and have separate parking for the toad. Clean restrooms. Reasonable priced laundry. FHU's good condition good water pressure, voltage 123v. Site owner very, very nice. This park is very dog friendly, they do not use chemicals on their lawn, just vinegar to kill weeds. The off leash dog area, is actually many connected large areas and paths that go down to the river, nicely mowed with high grasses for "fencing" Park has full time residents, but we found the park very quiet, with no problems. Good Verizon and T-Mobile signal. Park wifi very good at our site (22-honeymoon spot) we were also right across from the dog areas. Site are sat. friendly, and are back-in's, but easy. It is a small park, with wide streets. The park is not fancy, but peaceful and quiet. If you have a dog, this park is a must. We will definitely return to this park for a longer period of time. Sorry we only stayed a few days. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Many things do to do in the area. Stop at the info booth in town. Be sure and go to the bakery just before the bridge in Charleston. Don't miss the water front. Visit the Railway museum (free) downtown. Whale watch.

This is a great little RV park on the Alsea river a couple of miles inland from 101. We stayed overnight and were delighted with our quiet and peaceful site. The on site owner was very friendly, efficient and helpful. Laundry was reasonable and clean. There isn't much to do within walking distance but its a great place to relax. There is also a great lending DVD and book library. The park is very pet friendly with a clean wide walking path to the river and a nice open area that can be leash free. On our 2 month rv trip, this was our favorite park. I wish more parks were like this-not fancy but clean, well managed and inviting. Have stayed here for 3 years now during the month of July and August. As previously stated, owners are very friendly and helpful.

Our site is large enough for our 40 foot motorhome and space alongside for our toad.

Keep coming back as it is just a short walk to the Alsea river and wildlife.

Will be back again. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great prime rib at the local bar on Friday's named Flounder Inn.

Great Chinese food just down the street also.

Has a grocery store (Ray's) that pretty much has it all.

Walmart is 30 miles away in Newport.

We became full time RVers as of Aug. 2015 and this is by far the nicest park we have stayed at. The park is very clean, quiet, well maintained, and very pet friendly. The owners are wonderful people and really do an excellent job of running and operating this campground. The sites are very spacious and wide allowing your RV and tow vehicle to be side by side. We had full hook ups to include WiFi. The WiFi was decent, we only had problems when there were a lot of rigs in the park. There is a large off leash pet area for your fur babies to have some freedom to roam and play which is extremely nice for those of us that travel with our pets. The laundry and bathroom/shower facilities are extremely clean and well maintained. We came with the intention of staying for one month, but liked the park so much we ended up staying two months. This is definitely a campground we will come back to and recommend it to anyone traveling to the Oregon coast. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Motorhome.

One of my favorite places, and the only park I've returned again to since going full time almost two years ago. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. The park is well taken care of and the dog area is great! Each space includes a parking place for your tow. All utilities work well, including the cable TV. Right on the river, there are abundant opportunities for wildlife viewing (and photographing). Rate reflects a combination of one month at monthly rate and one week at weekly rate. We spent a week at this park a year ago and enjoyed the experience so much that we came back this year for a month. We will not return. We have always flown the US flag at the rear of our 5th wheel but at this park, this year, the owner became very angry and told us that we could take the flag down or he would throw us out. He told us that he was concerned about what people would think if they saw the US flag on an RV in his park. This came a few hours after we paid $500 for the month. No refund, of course. Last year it was no problem. Same flag, same flagpole, same attachment to the 5th wheel. Bad experience! The rate reflects a monthly rate. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
