This is a nice Encore park not far from Mt. Hood. We had a large site with lots of shade, so we used their cable instead of our Dish TV. The cable worked well but was missing some of our favorite channels. Our Verizon MiFi worked okay during the times when other people in the park were not trying to access the Internet, too. AT&T cell phones had no issues while we were here. We were disappointed in the lack of activities for adults. Usually, there are things like breakfasts or ice cream socials in Encore/Thousand Trails parks, but we had none of those activities here. We thought that might be because they are renovating the clubhouse, so look forward to maybe seeing more for adults on our next visit. We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Good power and water sewer at site. They seem to be putting money into upgrades which will be nice. The lodge was closed when we were there for remodeling. I went into one of the restrooms which had been recently remodeled better than any rv park restroom I've been in for a while good job on that. The only negative was the abundance of speed curbs (very abrupt speed bumps) one was right behind our site which made for not a single restful night as a result of things in the back of all the pickups banging when the pickups would drop off the top of the speed curb. There is a better way to curtail irresponsible speeders. We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We were somewhat disappointed with this park for the money spent. With all fees, taxes, etc. it was $75.00 per night. No WiFi at site. Cable TV didn't work even after 2 trips to office to inform them of problem. Numbers for sites were not visible from driveway, 2 inch number on post about 30 feet in. On positive side, quiet in park, day and night, clean. Just not a lot but f choices n the area. We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We just weren't jazzed by this place. It's a massive park, with tons of spaces, but they're older, a bit tight, and not well thought out. We got our large rig in without too much hassle, but it definitely wasn't setup for larger rigs. Moreover, the staff was a bit dismissive, closed the store early some days without warning, and we generally felt like they couldn't care less that we were there. We forfeited our last night and left a day early, even though we knew there were no refunds. It was just time to move on and find a nicer place to park the rig. We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Place was quiet. Bathrooms were NOT cleaned daily. Shower water control in men's showers have no hot/cold control and preset temp was border line too hot. Main road leading into camp areas needs another speed bump. Big RVs going way too fast. Campsites were adequate but kind of close together. Store one day closed in the afternoon unexpectedly and on a Saturday, they were out of ice early on.All in all, too expensive for what you get. Likely NOT to stay there again. We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Most of the negative reviews that I saw about this place were avoidable. Don't choose a spot by the highway, Choose a spot big enough for your vehicles. That said, with almost 400 sites, anything can happen. Our site was beautiful, spacious, clean, and quiet during most of our stay. Our water spigot leaked a lot while open so we filled up our tank in our motorhome and used our pump. WiFi was almost nonexistent here. you're supposed to be able to get it up by the lodge but we were never able to. Our LTE on our phones barely worked for some reason? This is an Encore Park, and part of the Trails Collection. Some interior roads are paved depending on what section you are in. Park is Big Rig Friendly and we had no problems with our 40' 5th wheel. We had satellite reception with our DISH Playmaker. Cell Phone Coverage w/ AT&T is good. Most sites are very much shaded and depending on the time of year you may want to choose a sunnier site. Dirt sites that are level and have fire rings. Very nice park and would definitely return! We don't use many of the amenities of the parks we stay at as we usually are out hiking and exploring the areas. Many things to see and do in this are if you like the outdoors. Be sure you load up on groceries and supplies before you go as there is only one grocery store in the Government Camp area and is HUGELY expensive! We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Our site was not raked, fire pit had wine bottle, papers plastic stuff. Was just long enough our 36 5th wheel, had to park along the road. No other area to park your vehicle. Power, water and sewer all good. Except the cable cord was just barely sticking out of the ground next to power center. Almost didn't think there was cable have never seen anything like that. This is also a thousand trails so they stop by to tell you about it. Noise from Hwy 27 is loud as the back in is right on the hwy. Was ok late at night. Site somewhat level. Check in was easy. I did complain regarding the dirty fire pit and they came right away and cleaned it up. It's an attractive location we needed something that had cabins because we had friends staying along with us. Would not recommend the tiny houses they offer our friends not much room. Oh RV site came with stink bugs and were still killing them after 3 days. Which you have no control over this in a forest area. We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was very busy for staying in the middle of the week. A bit nosier then we expected. The spots are not very level, but not horrible. We have stayed at other "Thousand Trails" park and this was a very nice compared to the others. The spots are larger and seemed to be better planned out in the park. The employee were very nice and welcoming. The person at the check in did say that the park was going to get some upgrades but the process is very slow. The showers are on the scary side; inside the restrooms, which did not have a working lock, no lock on the shower doors, shower heads are very old. It bothered my husband so much he stood outside and waiting for me. We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a back- in FHU site. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of our site. The fire ring had a large amount of cigarette butts and other debris. The site was muddy, making it difficult to get into/out of our vehicle. We have camped extensively, but our first at a Thousand Trails/Encore park. We expected a pristine park for the amount charged, which was very high for a weekday stay in the fall. We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Since this is part of our Thousand Trails membership, we stayed at this Encore Park for no charge. Normal retail is $60. Check in is super easy & friendly and the park is massive, with sites for RVs, tents, and rentals of Yurts, Tiny Houses and cabins. Most of the older park is heavily shaded so the new Beaver Valley section is a welcome addition for those looking for satellite signal. This is a full service, gated resort, with indoor and outdoor pools, a large lodge, two fitness rooms, modern laundry, small fully stocked store and cafe on site. There are several paths leading down to the Salmon River and one path leading up to the Cascade Streamwatch, in the Wildwood Recreation Site (don't miss the Fish Viewing Center!). We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Welches is a very small town with a local Thriftway grocery store, liquor store and one gas station. There are a few restaurants and pubs, featuring "resort pricing" for most everything. The town of Sandy is only about 15 minutes away, with everything you could need. There are LOTS of hiking trails and its a short drive to Trillium Lake (stunning views of Mt. Hood) and Timberline Lodge, the iconic National Historic Site made famous in The Shinning.

Unless you have a Thousand Trails membership, I feel this Campground is highly overpriced. The campground is in a wooded area which gives you lots of shade. The sites are uneven, dirt (no gravel) and close together. You get the feel of being in a state campground rather than an "RV Resort." They do have a nicely stocked camp store with reasonable prices. We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Great park near My Hood. Paved roads throughout. Sites available for all sized RV's. Most sites in trees. Staff stagared occupants in sites so people were not feeling close to neighbors. Sites had all amenities in working condition. Pool and hot tub near office area. Well stocked store for campers. Only drawback was the meeting/rec room was not stocked and basically empty. WiFi only at office/pool area We camped at Mt Hood Village RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
