We spent a week at Gettysburg Campground in Gettysburg, PA in our 39' fifth wheel. We were in a large pull-through site that had easy access and exit. Since we were on a curve, there was a great deal of open space on our door side. The hookups worked well and were well positioned. The restrooms were clean and the laundry room, although small, was also clean. The office staff was very friendly and provided us with information on nearby attractions. The campground is only a couple of miles from downtown Gettysburg. We recommend this campground and would return. We camped at Gettysburg Farm RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Kennie's Market is the best place for groceries. Wal-Mart is much farther and is not a supercenter. The battlefield visitors' center and museum are outstanding. We would also recommend the battlefield tour bus.

This RV park is also a working farm. There are chickens and rabbits running around the RV park along with a beautiful petting zoo. This is a great place to stay. We actually added 2 extra nights to just enjoy the amenities at the RV park. You do get to pick your site. My only negative comment are the bathrooms. They were very clean but dated. There was mold and things falling apart. The mini putt putt was also old but we played anyways and figured the lumps in the floor were a extra challenge. We camped at Gettysburg Farm RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Gettysburg was alot of fun to drive. Definitely make your way up to one of the towers in the park. We were out of breath when we made it to the top but the view was amazing.

Visiting the different animals was the highlight for our granddaughter. Scheduled another stay for September so she can visit them again. Great 1000 trails campground and only 10 miles from my house! We camped at Gettysburg Farm RV Campground in a Tent Trailer.

You have a choice of staying at a 50amp site with sewer near the farm, swimming pool, clubhouse, trading post OR you can stay down near the creek with 30amp and no sewer. The 50amp sites appear to be more "private RV park" atmosphere (close by with formalized sites). The 30 amp sites are more "state park" or "corps of engineer park" sites... more room parking on grass. All the sites seemed to have some shade. The interesting fact with this park is that "farm" isn't just part of the name. There are animals here - a petting zoo too. Great for the kiddos. We camped at Gettysburg Farm RV Campground in a Motorhome.

A really nice park. The attention to appearance was evident as we turned in the park. Efficient gate personnel and nice trimmed grass, lots of flowers, antique farm equipment displayed along the drive made a welcoming first impression. All the sites were easy to negotiate. 50 amp service, good water pressure and sewer everything you need this thousand trails park is complete and well worth a visit. White Horse Diner for breakfast, about 6 miles away. Great food and friendly service. Dinner at Menges Diner (about 7 miles away) was very good, lots of food at a good price. Gettysburg Museum and Battlefield is about 20 miles away. We did the self tour.

Overall Rating:

This campground is actually located around 18 miles northeast of the historic town of Gettysburg, but it is, indeed, a farm. There are fields, barns, and lots of farm animals. There are posted petting zoo times for those who want to get up close and personal with many of the animals. We arrived right at the end of the campground's second flooding event of the season. Conewago Creek skirts the campground and with all the rain Pennsylvania has had this summer, the creek has gotten out of hand at times. Most of the campsites aren't impacted by the creek, but one section is right along the creek. It was closed because of the wet conditions. I think those campsites and a few others are the only water/electric only spots in the park. The campground does, though, offer free "honey wagon" service to those without sewer. It was my impression that bigger rigs would fit better in the "city" portion of the campground, wet conditions or no. The majority of the campground is about equally divided between 30 and 50 amp full hookup back in spots, except for one row of back-to-back sites. Aside from the site differences I just described, I felt that the spots in the campground were pretty much equal with an adequate amount of space and level sites. As usual, many spots have been leased out to long term residents. That, along with having many creekside sites out of service, caused the remaining sites to be mostly all occupied over the weekends. During the week, though, there were a few vacant spots for travelers. We arrived the week after Labor Day and the pool was already drained for the winter. There's a cute mini-golf course and nice basketball/pickleball area. There's a small store that also serves food. My Verizon signal was weak but usable most of the time. I had no problem getting satellite TV. This being a nice campground that is near some interesting attractions makes, I think, Gettysburg Farm Thousand Trails a real winner. We camped at Gettysburg Farm RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We had an absolutely WONDERFUL 2 weeks at the Gettysburg Farm RV Campground. There were many, very large, grassy sites with plenty of room to spread out. Full shade was available. If you don't need 50amp, or a sewer hookup (but free honey wagon), there is a huge long side of the campground right on the river that you can practically have to yourself during the week and some light weekends. Very family oriented with all kinds of animals, and weekend fun, but also still quiet and relaxing. About 40% seasonal but that is perfect. The campground wi-fi wasn't too good, but they are looking into getting better service. We just used our Verizon hot spot, and while ATT coverage was spotty, we were still able to do our telecommute jobs. Two downsides: 1) The shower houses need a little updating. Especially the one by the 30amp/no sewer side. 2) The laundry. Oh dear god the laundry. The 30 min wash load takes about 60+ minutes. Apparently the water pressure into the washers is horrible. Dryers were great though. :) NEITHER of these two downsides affected our stay at all. Just mentioning for the sake of information. Cannot wait to go back and spend 3 weeks next time. Absolutely a great campground, with friendly staff, and even friendlier goats. :) We camped at Gettysburg Farm RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This area is so steeped in history and things to do, that you have to not be looking if you can't find something to see. Between touring the Amish countryside and looking at farms, to Hershey Park, to the battlefield tour of Gettysburg, there is so much to do and see you need several trips.

Quick friendly check in, clean grounds, well cared for. Didn't use PAY WIFI (even woman at front desk said it was Tengo and "it stinks" - supposedly they're looking at other options). We used our Verizon Jetpack with 3 bars LTE. No cable TV but we got about 15 stations on the antenna. Our site had a slight grade to it, about 3.5" low in front. Nice grounds for walking and some sites on the water. A fair amount of seasonals like most TT's but most were ok looking. Site was a "double pull thru" and whoever gets there first takes a larger spot and squeezes the other site tight. They really need a divider to set the middle boundry. We camped at Gettysburg Farm RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Large, grassy spaces with plenty of room for chaise and awnings. Spaces with no shade, partial shade, and full shade available. Wifi is Tengo and pretty much worthless. My AT&T hotspot worked fine, but had to go outside RV for phone calls. Plenty for kids, playground, large pool, farm animals and room to ride bikes and run around. Park is well maintained, roads are gravel with no ruts or potholes, spaces are paved with gravel and dirt. Maybe 40% of spaces are filled with permanent or seasonal campers, but still plenty of space available for shorter period campers. Very nice place, we'll come here again. The rate was actual $0 which reflects are TT elite membership.

The place has a farm-like feel, from all the animals to some of the vegetables they grow. The grounds are well maintained. The pool is in dire need of replacing. The water was clean, but there's missing tiles and cracks everywhere. The sites are easy to get into, with plenty of 50amp sites. The power goes out about everyday, but not for long. The people working here are friendly and helpful. I would definitely return if in the area. We camped at Gettysburg Farm RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Office staff was very good and efficient. Ground crew was very good as well, cutting grass in the site that I chose prior to backing in. Overall the park was in very good condition and well maintained. Ice cream social was nice, as well as being on a Farm. Petting Zoo, for the younger crowd as well as the adults. The only "problem" that I found was the signage could be improved when approaching the campground. We camped at Gettysburg Farm RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
