Very well maintained park with generously sized grassy sites and level concrete landing pads. We had water and 50 amp at our site. There is a dump station. We were met on arrival by the camp host and made to feel most welcome. We had no trouble navigating with our 40 foot motorhome. It's in a nice location on the waterfront with access to the marina, a park and walkway along the channel. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a nice little park. Very well kept - the lawns are beautiful and the roads and sites are asphalt. Huge amount of space between each site. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit water and electric. There's only a few sites you can see the water from, but the surrounding area is very pleasing. There doesn't appear to be wifi, but Verizon cell signal was fine and it was easy to get satellite dish signal. It's a very quiet park and we would come back. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

First Impression: Municipal road in dismal condition but CG is very attractive. Safety: No concerns. Access: I-79 north off I-90 to Bayfront blvd, past town to Port Access Road, turn left. Access road in poor condition, poor signage, Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Small office rarely manned. Camp host will find you. No store. Reservations required. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations not available. No price discounts. Facilities: No pool, spa, fitness room or rec center. Small, clean laundry room. Nice restrooms/showers, clean, modern, no mold (score "A"). No propane sales. No playground. No off-leash dog run. Campground: Not in a flood plain. Use restrooms as storm shelter. Lightly wooded. Interior roads are narrow asphalt in good condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Big rig friendly but long coaches might have maneuvering problems. Tents allowed but no yurts or cabins. Sites are all spacious, level, asphalt, all angled back-in, nice grass between. Pedestals at middle of site with electric 20/30/50; no meters. Adequate water pressure with good taste. NO SEWER; use dump stations. Nice, asphalt patios with nice picnic tables. Fire rings provided; buy wood at office. Good satellite views. No cable TV. No Wi-Fi. Verizon phone at 3-4 bars; 4G at 2-3 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: No railroad, aircraft, traffic, or interstate noise. Bug Report (early June): CG borders a swamp, providing numerous flying bugs of different species. A nuisance. Runners: CG roads excellent for running. Yoga: patios are plenty big enough for your mat. Conclusion: Score 7-Good. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Erie borders the Presque Isle Bay (not the lake, itself). Museum, marinas, water taxi, Presque Isle State Park (must visit). UPMC hospital complex, churches, but didn't see a lot of national restaurant chains. All of the typical fast food eateries. Diesel in the area is $3.459 per gallon.

Overall Rating:

Nice clean campground right on Lake Erie. Good utilities - no sewer but a dump station. Very nice bath/shower facilities. Paved roads and pads and nice grassy areas and plenty of space between sites. No cable but a number of channels on the batwing. Traffic was a little crazy coming in but found out there was a special event going on causing traffic issues. Little traffic leaving in the a.m. It was quiet at night until about 4 a.m. when all the nearby industrial businesses kicked in then there was lots of noise. Main gates close about 7 p.m. But there is another gate through the marina parking lot to your right that is always open if you're late. Not too crowded when we were there but understand it often is and reservations are recommended. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Overall, the park, which is on Lake Erie is a nice small park run by Port Erie, so convenient if you like to fish, boat, etc. The park, however, doesn't appear to be managed. There is an office onsite that is not staffed; there is a phone number to call if you need to check in that no one answered and the phone had a full mailbox. No directions on what to do posted, and no site assignment on the confirmation. When we arrived called the number four times to no avail so we had no idea where to park, so we just picked a spot--of course finding out the next day that we needed to move. We arrived at 3:30, so it was not like it was late. One of the other visitors had flagged down someone in a golf cart doing a round to finally open up the office to do check ins (they had been at the campground for three days). Park is convenient to Presque Island and other waterfront activities. Nice bath house, but no other amenities. Good verizon and AT&T and easy to connect DTV satellite. Wide sites. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground run by the city of Erie. Bathhouse and restrooms were new and very nice. Hookups were new. No sewer. They have a laundry. The campground is adjacent to a public marina. The campground is surrounded by a chain link fence and the gate is locked at night. Very close to town. Our site was double booked over the holiday so we had to leave earlier than we expected. But the ranger was incredibly nice and we managed to find another location so it was not a problem for us. Normally, the place is very busy - not surprising. Great spot for fishing. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground run by city of Erie. The sites are spacious and several around the bathhouse have lovely views of the bay. I was really surprised at how nice and clean everything was and wish I could have stayed longer. They were totally booked up for the weekend and lots of kids on bikes. The office is closed at 4 and I am not sure if the gates were ever closed at night so be safe when camping there. Our site was paved with 50 amp and water. Jack pads are required and the office will end them out. Two dump stations on the way out were in good shape and very clean. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Motorhome.

We had a nice stay at this urban oasis on the Bayfront in Erie. While you can't really directly see Lake Erie, you are right there. If you are a boater this is ideal. It's a flat oval with all back in sites. Some are longer than others . Great city water and electricity with 3 positions on 2 dump station. Very convenient to shopping and the state park / amusement park on the peninsula. Lowered rating because of lack of full hook up. Directional signage driving in is poor. Very family oriented. Price is average of weekday and weekend rates. No sewer or Wi-Fi but good power, satellite, and phone reception. Large paved pad sites well spaced. Close to many area attractions, including the large and very beautiful Presque Isle State Park. We were here over the local 'Roar On The Shore' Harley-Davidson weekend in town so there were a lot of cycles in the campground but for Harleys they were pretty noise considerate. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Motorhome.

Best campground on our trip from Dayton, OH to Poultney, VT. On Lake Erie, we camped here on a Sunday night on the way home and we wished we could have stayed longer. No sewer at the sites, but the dump sites are very easy access. If you have DirecTV or Dish, they would be easily set up. No Wi-Fi, but had 3G Sprint connectivity. Witnessed a dual mast passenger sailboat come into dock. We researched it and plan on going back up and going for a day cruise. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We were very pleased to find this fairly new park right on Lake Erie. Small campground has few amenities, but they aren’t needed with the setting. Paved road and sites, which are easy back-ins and all level. Laundry room, and clean bathroom/showers. No sewer, but three dump sites. No Wi-Fi or cable, but good TV reception. Weekends are $35. We would definitely return. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Motorhome.

You might ask - "How can it be a 10 without sewer hookups?" Easy -- sites are spacious, paved, and wide enough to park your car next to your rig. At least 20' separation between sites, and landscaped mounds and to the feeling of privacy. Close to downtown, yet on the water. Good over the air TV. Well maintained, and the lady who checked us in could not have been more helpful. The kind of park where we wished we could have stayed a month. We would go out of our way to stay here again. The campground is owned and operated by the Erie-Western PA Port Authority, a government agency similar to a municipal government park. It is a very nice park with good 50 amp power at every site. There are actually 3 dump sites, but one faces the wrong direction on the roadway. The showers and restrooms were very clean and well maintained. All the sites were very wide and covered by asphalt. There was chain link fence all the way around. There are no amenities within walking distance, unless you want to fish off the pier walkway along the channel leading to the lake. Appears to be a popular fishing pier for the locals. Good Verizon G3 signal. The trees between the sites are still growing. We camped here in a 36' motorhome diesel pusher and still had lots of room on the site for the toad. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Motorhome.
