Aug 2019 - $35.00
Best campground we have stayed in recently. Cowan Gap CG is large, spread throughout the forest surrounding Cowan Gap Lake. Our site was so private and a great location. We walked the Lakeside Trail completely around the lake. It was 1 1/2 miles of easy walking. The lake is small, but very pretty. Lovely park area. It had rained earlier in the day, but out site was not wet and no sites appeared mudding. - classylady45

There is no water or sewer through the entire campground. We had to pass the cul-de-sac and fill up our water tank and circle back around to get back. There is only one dump station in the campground, and it’s in the middle. The cul-de-sac is all gravel, and there is a water runoff going along the side. While backing in our camper the left side of our truck hit the edge where the runoff is and the tires slid right down into it. Our truck has 4 wheel drive and we were still not able to get out. The truck sunk up to the axels. Since the truck slid, the front of our camper was bent down and the left stabilizer jack was up against the ground and our right one was digging into the ground. Luckily there was a park ranger nearby so we found him and he began to try to help us. Nearby campers also tried to help. No matter what we tried, the camper would not come off of the truck. The park ranger called a towing company to get us out. It took about 30 mins for the towing company to come and 15 minutes to get our truck out. The tow truck driver offered to park the camper for us, and even he had trouble trying to avoid falling back in to get our camper into the site. After that, the camping trip wasn’t too bad. The lake water was nice since it runs off the mountain. No one with a camper should go into that area, but other than that area, the campground is nice. Camp area A also has a lot of hills. The B area is nicer than the A area. - LolaAndPappy
May 2019 - $35.00
Great late spring weekend. The bigger loops in Area A were closed, so there was hardly anyone else there. Pros: great hiking and biking (with kids), no bugs. Friendly host. Almost no cell coverage. Just enough to check in, weak enough to disconnect for the weekend. Heavy rain, but the site drained really well. Fishing was great. Cons: Spot was a little tight, dump station was REALLY tight. Area A is a pretty good walk from the lake. If you want to fish a lot or kayak, Area B would be better. - Used Crayons

This is a campground that sits next door to a real working water powered grist mill also owned by the family. Owner checked us in and is very pleasant to deal with. Pull through FHU sites are the back to back in the middle with back in sites, water and electric, along the outer edges. I had two problems with our site. The neighbor next door had probably the most trashy site I have ever seen at a campground, with cans and trash strewn about and nonburnable trash in the fire pit. Good news was that his site was our hook up side so after getting things set up, we just pulled our shades down and the mess was not in view. Unfortunately we had another problem on the other side. There was a full time kennel set up with two large dogs that barked at everything that went by, that included us as we entered or exited our trailer. Rules we were handed prohibited that, so I was surprised this was allowed. Had I known how bad it was going to be, I would have asked for another site and I am sure the campground owner would have let us move, but we were all set up when we realized the full extent of the problem and only being here for one night, we decided to just put up with it. Bathrooms were in desperate need of renovation. They were clean but toilets were cracked and showers were dark and dingy. The PA turnpike runs right beside the camp but it is elevated higher than the campground so road noise was not as noticeable as it could have been. There was a bridge over a creek and some trails to walk in the shady woods with a table for a picnic as well. They had a very nice playground for children and a few other games as well. This campground would get higher ratings from me if some sites would be cleaned up and they did not have a "double standard" for dogs. I would stay here again but would pick my site more carefully with the help of the owner. - Trainspotter
May 2019 - $30.00
This is the trashiest park we have been in so far. Old, rusted campers, grass and weeds everywhere. Trash just is thrown around the various campsites. The "general store" had moldy bread on the shelves and would have been a hoarders delight. I was terrified to leave our motorhome because I just didn't feel safe there. I can't think of a reason anyone would stay at Ye Old Mill campground. - Peggy coffey

Weekly rate $230. Easy to find, close to good motorcycle riding roads. Campground was close enough to family we were visiting. Owners/hosts friendly and helpful. - NMarlin

Very nice, helpful staff. DO NOT follow GPS, follow the website directions. Very hard to find. Nice large lots. Lots of space. Close to town. Nice creek running through. Check out our Rvacationer video on You Tube. - rv retirement
Jun 2018 - $35.00
Choices for campgrounds in this area are few. Needed a place for one night and this fit the bill. Campground is a bit of a drive from the highway thru town. Check in at the office, which is near the house and barn, was easy and the man at the desk friendly. Our site was in an open grass field that looked liked it was used more for rallies. Utilities at this site were on the wrong side which made for a awkward parking position. There are sites along the river that have trees and are more like a campground. Lots of families and kids having fun in that section. Restrooms and showers are basic and could have been cleaner. Okay place for a night stay. As I said before choices in this area are few. Would probably continue on or stop earlier somewhere else next time. - 21fbrs

Located in the gorgeous mountains, this place is a gem. There are many seasonal sites here, and that does not detract from the quality and friendliness in the least. The owners are superb. Our power and water were adequate. Our site was gravel and level. There is a nice pool and a little store. - LittleCastle
Jun 2007 - $30.00
Saunderosa is a very nice campground. I have always enjoyed camping there. There are some very nice spots by the creek. The kids especially enjoy playing in the water all day. The pool is adequate but you have to pay extra to swim in it. Saunderosa could use more weekend campsites as most sites are permanent. And the bathrooms also need more attention during busy weekends. - GaryKPA

Great location for us, 6 miles from Whitetail ski resort and even closer to the golf course. It's back in the middle of nowhereville, but a nice quiet campground. Did have a playground that my kids loved. Didn't look as pretty as the web site pictures, employees were VERY friendly and saw them driving around camp ground a lot, which makes me feel better. There are a lot of live ins and a lot of people that leave their camper for part time visits but its was quiet. On the Saturday night that we where there we did hear some load music and people but it didn't last long or late, not sure why it stopped but it did. (not sure if employee stopped it or it stopped on it's own) WE WILL STAY AGAIN AND WILL UPDATE AS NEEDED. - suzipittard

Jun 2015 - $23.00
We have stayed here a couple of times as it comes at a convenient stop time in our itinerary. The place is really an RV dealership with some campsites in the back. A trucking company is adjacent which has noisy all night operations that can affect some sites. Our last visit occurred when the dealership seemed to have an overstock of units. Most sites and access roads were being used for storage. We arrived around 2 p.m. and only one site was available. Staff was friendly and diligent in making sure we could fit into the space before we paid. No sewer at site and the dump station was positioned on the passenger side of the rig on exit. We didn't bother to try to use it. We would strongly recommend that anyone planning on staying here, call ahead to be sure there will be sites available. - halfdimes
Apr 2014 - $1.00
Sites and common road were somewhat tight for our larger RV and is a muddy mess after any rainfall. Appreciate being able to stay for free to have some service work done on the RV but truly felt like it was only adequate for the price (not) paid. If I were paying to stay here I would deduct a rating point for every dollar per night they charged me. - Snidely Whiplash
May 2011 - $23.00
I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. Not many places honor the Passport rate over a holiday weekend but they do. Lots of noise from I-81. The campground is in one part of the storage area for new and used RV's. I did not see any units that could have been considered used for parts. A short walk found a dumpster to dispose of trash. There is a complete RV parts and service dept. It was an adequate place to stay. I didn't feel like I was locked in or unsafe at any time during my 3 day stay here. - mrracechaser

Sep 2019 - $75.00
We stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend as we traveled through the area. The folks at the store/check-in were nice. As others have mentioned it is crowded on weekends and very much overpriced, but they are the only game in town. Cramped site not enough room (or level enough) to put out chairs. We had a pull through which wasn't long enough for the truck and trailer had to park the truck at an angle beside the trailer. No wifi available at site. Very sloped and did I mention cramped. Limited analog cable TV. Basically no bang for the buck at this campground. We would never stay here again. - jtl2
Sep 2019 - $53.00
We’ve stayed here many times because they’re the only game in town but it would be nice to see some improvements. Only a few sites have sewer and but maybe the campground is prohibited from expanding it. If you are parked in the pullthroughs you have to go thru the entire CG to reach the dump station while exiting. The cable is still getting analog channels and only about half of what’s listed. No satellite at site 18 for rooftop Dish. The escort pulled us so far forward in the site that we had to unhook and backup to reach the connections at the very rear of the site. They do have pizza and other food available. The road to the CG is narrow. Could be hairy if two big rigs meet. Follow the website directions to get off on exit 24 and NOT 18. You’ll see the one lane bridge that you avoided just as you enter the campground. - Team Asphalt
Aug 2019 - $56.00
The road into this campground is narrow and, at times, very rough. The campground is very busy on the weekends. Water and electric worked as required. Sewer inlet was on the same level as my outlet, so getting a proper drain was a challenge. The provided cable TV had a limited channel selection but does include a PBS station. WiFi worked well during the week but was close to unusable on the weekends. Verizon voice and data was excellent. Kamp workers are super nice and made our week here very enjoyable. We will return here if we return to this area. - moderate camper

Oct 2019 - $44.00
Great state park! The sites are difficult for large rigs to back into, but it can be done. Our trailer needed 3 leveling blocks for it to be level. The site had lots of space. There is a smaller playground at the top of a hill around the loop. If you take the walk to the main area of the state park, there is a larger playground and pool. The park is very beautiful in the the fall. Will definitely be coming back! - LolaAndPappy
Sep 2019 - $33.00
Camp site had 30 amp Full hook up but were small and ours was not level. Bathrooms and showers were new this year and very nice and clean. Dump station and water lines to site also appear to be new. - packman52
Sep 2018 - $35.00
This is a pretty State Park campground in the woods, with trails, nearby streams and waterfalls. Electric only; water at dump station and spigots in campground. Unfortunately, it has the worst campground layout we've ever seen, and we've camped in many State Parks across the country. Campsites consist of cleared sections of forest at the side of the road, with several electric posts arranged in a semi-circle. Our space was possibly long enough for 2 larger rigs, and they had it marked off for 3 sites. Our neighbor was so close our slide-outs almost touched, with no room to lower our awning. This campground would be OK for tents and small campers, but its not big-rig friendly! For this reason we would not stay here again. - FranM
