We spent a week at Gettysburg Campground in Gettysburg, PA in our 39' fifth wheel. We were in a large pull-through site that had easy access and exit. Since we were on a curve, there was a great deal of open space on our door side. The hookups worked well and were well positioned. The restrooms were clean and the laundry room, although small, was also clean. The office staff was very friendly and provided us with information on nearby attractions. The campground is only a couple of miles from downtown Gettysburg. We recommend this campground and would return. - Phil G

This RV park is also a working farm. There are chickens and rabbits running around the RV park along with a beautiful petting zoo. This is a great place to stay. We actually added 2 extra nights to just enjoy the amenities at the RV park. You do get to pick your site. My only negative comment are the bathrooms. They were very clean but dated. There was mold and things falling apart. The mini putt putt was also old but we played anyways and figured the lumps in the floor were a extra challenge. - RV Path chosen

Visiting the different animals was the highlight for our granddaughter. Scheduled another stay for September so she can visit them again. Great 1000 trails campground and only 10 miles from my house! - Frankk

My wife and I stayed here mid of Oct 2019. We found this to be an excellent campground. The staff were polite and very helpful. The location is well placed to see and enjoy all that Lancaster County offers. When entering I was put off by the entrance gate which is behind the building and not immediately visible. It looked tight but I was able to get my 42' fifth wheel thru without any difficulty. Full hookup site was very spacious. Mostly level, but I did use more blocks on my door side. - Bob and Karen
Oct 2019 - $1.00
We stayed at site S1, which was right on the river. This was our first outing with our new camper and the staff were exceptional in helping us to get us into the site and settled. The park was clean and we had no issues with the facilities. AT&T signal was excellent. OTA TV was poor at our site. - BillU8
Jun 2019 - $1.00
This place is pretty crowded with the FHU sites all around each other. It is surrounded by the Conestoga River so there is not much land around for trails. We took a site along the main road and there is not a lot of room for the truck. WiFi is sketchy, have to pay for cable but got the best OTA stations with antenna toward Harrisburg. The water quality is good; electric good. Lots of activities such as pool, basketball, etc. There are sites along the river, but they are just W/E. There is a large ball field down near the river to let the dogs loose to get some exercise. There is a trail along the river. - Kerch Family

Lovely small private campground. Currently sitting out under the awning listen to the crickets enjoying a glass of whiskey. Quiet and peaceful. Close to York and the sites. Right on the York Heritage Rail Trail...a must do if your into rail trails. Manager recommended riding into downtown York (4 miles) and going to the farmers market and have lunch at White Rose Bar and Grill....both excellent recommendations. Check out the Harley factory tour. Lots of wineries around here so tomorrow we'll be wetting our whistles. Staying here on site 22 with out 36ft pusher, plenty of room and height. 20 amp electric may be a downfall for the novice camper but if you know how to do it there is no problem. Running our rear AC with no issues. Beautiful scenery and peaceful spot...grab some ice cream at the dairy as well. - Leon Condor
Jul 2015 - $30.00
Just a basic CG. On the plus side, it is right next to a recreational trail that runs from York to the MD line. Gravel roads and pads are in fair condition. And it is quiet. On the minus side, not much for services. Unattended registration (at least on Friday). Very wooded and Not suitable for a tall rig (too many low-hanging branches for my 12.5'). There are only a couple sites with 30A electric and those were filled by what appeared to be long-term campers. The rest of the electric was 20A NEMA 5-15 (household type) outlets. The sewer connections were unusual... coming out of the ground at a 45 degree angle (not sure how I would connect my 90 degree elbow to that). Needless to say, we did not stay there and because there was essentially no 30A service, we will not be returning. If you are tent or TT camping and looking for some quiet, this might be your place. - User3802
Jul 2012 - $35.00
We planned on staying here due to access to parks in York. However, after driving through decided to stay in Elizabethtown. The park has several old RVs (not sure if they are occupied). The restrooms are quite old (require security code to use), the connections are quite a distance from the sites. Wouldn't recommend this park. - Softball29

First Impression: Small but spacious. Tiny "office" for registration only but the real office is further in. Safety: No concerns. Access: You want US-30, west out of York to left on Trinity Road then an immediate left again onto Woodberry Road, straight to CG. Woodberry Road in fair condition, CG access road asphalt in good condition, good signage, Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Husband/Wife team runs the place, nice people. No store. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations available. No price discounts. Facilities: No pool, spa, fitness room or rec center. Big meeting room. Small, clean laundry room. Restrooms/showers pristine, modern, clean, no mold. No propane sales. No playground (CG does not cater to families w/children). No off-leash dog run. Campground: Not in a flood plain. Use office and restrooms as storm shelters. Lightly wooded. Interior roads are wide asphalt in good condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Big rig friendly. Long coaches should not have maneuvering problems. Tent areas, no yurts or cabins. Sites are all nearby-to-spacious, level, grass/gravel, all back-in, grass between. Pedestals at rear of site with electric 20/30/50; metered for seasonals. Adequate water pressure with good taste. Sewer pipe is 4" unthreaded, about 2-4" above ground level. No patios or picnic tables. Fire rings. Good satellite views. No Free cable TV. Free Wi-Fi with excellent coverage but weak bandwidth. Verizon phone at 5 bars; 4G at 3 bars. Recycle bins. Noise: No railroad or aircraft but very loud traffic noise from US-30. Bug Report (late July): no insect issues. Runners: CG roads good for running. Yoga: area around sites plenty big enough for your mat. Conclusion: Score 6-Nice. A good one-night or destination CG. - StephenK
Apr 2019 - $35.00
Needed a last minute place near York that was reasonably priced and Ben Franklin met our needs. Owners seemed very friendly, the Campground is small and the neighbors are quiet. It is right next to RT30 and there is road noise. But with the fan turned on in my camper my wife nor I felt it was a problem. Location is great! near York PA and within a hour of Baltimore Gettysburg and Lancaster PA. I would agree, most if not all the sites could use more gravel. A little bit of gravel would make a big difference in the appearance of the campground. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area. If you are looking for a secure overnight stop or a place to park for a week while you go sightseeing the area this place is perfect and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a “resort” then you may be disappointed. - Greg2787
Oct 2018 - $28.00
Traveling full-time in a 38-foot coach we stayed 10-nights in a site for big rigs (site # 00). Pd $28 night. This park is a small well-maintained family ran park. The owners are very friendly and fantastic hosts. The good....if you desire to stay close to York this would be an excellent choice. The residents occupy most of the sites so this is a very quiet park. If you have a dog there is ample area to walk your pet. We give this park 5-Stars for the fantastic WIFI. Our AT&T phones worked great here. Our satellite did not receive reception (would guess if you had a site in the middle of the park you would be ok), but you will not receive reception on the outside loops because of all the trees. After 10-nights, the dust on our coach was minimal compared to many other parks. Big coaches need a gravel pad, so we give this RV Park a 5-star rating for the thick gravel pad. Each site had room at the side of the coach for sitting and relaxing while BBQ'ing. The bad...if your site is right next to the freeway you will hear trucks especially when they use their exhaust brake. We had a site on the other side of the park and the freeway noise did not bother us. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this park. - JDC10

This campground is as basic as it gets, besides just going out in the woods. It it mostly for scuba divers. This was a large rock quarry that has been filled with water for scuba diving. They have sunk a few neat things, like a bus, to make it interesting. I stayed here several times for my scuba certification. You basically just pitch a tent or pull your RV into the woods. No electric, no water besides at the main bath house. The biggest complaint is that in the middle of the night, there is a train that comes right through the middle of the campground, usually blaring its horn. It is very scary to be woken up by. The ground shakes and it feels like the train is going to run right over you. But, if you are there to scuba dive, you don't have much of a choice for places to stay. - justthe6ofus

Wow - just really wow. What a beautiful campground. Acres of rolling hilly grassy areas. Great dog park. Great kid parks/areas. All kinds of activities. Camp "snack bar" with sandwiches, burgers etc. Beautiful lakes, pool, just all kinds of things and all in a beautiful setting. I will say - on the road here off 15 - don't give up, you'll get here, but does seem out of the way. Stop in a town first if you need supplies, cause you might not want to ride back out and back again. - Dixies Mom
Sep 2017 - $50.00
Nice campground. Large majority of sites are taken by seasonal/full-time campers. I'd estimate 80%. Staff and campers were very friendly . Nighttime was quiet with no issues. Lots of golf-carts zipping around but they were courteous. Roads are a little tight at times for long trailers though just take your time. All spots are back-in, but room to maneuver so even us novices had no issues. GPS has us go route that had a bridge closed (about 5 miles from campground) for construction, so check road closures. Nice place, would definitely stay again. - StonewallFarms
Sep 2017 - $60.00
This is by far one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at, the grounds were impeccable, beautiful lake, nice pool, clean grounds overall, the staff was incredibly friendly, activities for both adults and kids. The staff seemed to always be working to improve on something and could not do enough to help you out, stopped by our site a few times just to make everything was ok. Awesome, we will most certainly be back again! Manager Jaron was fabulous and Bonnie at the desk was most friendly as was the activities director!. Can't say enough good things. Seems they plan some upgrades as well. - cbushneck

I love this park. Beautiful views and some of the nicest people I ever met. Everyone treats you like family, The owner goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We had spot 57 which Is by far the best site there, right by the falls. Great fishing, ducks, wild rabbits, deer, and we even saw a mink. New showers and bathrooms, plenty of hot water, green grass that's kept very nice. Really, I can't say enough good things about this park. I wish we could have stayed longer. I understand the bridge is new so if you had heard the bridge couldn't withstand certain weights, that's no longer true. I don't know why this park isn't packed every weekend; except maybe its Dover' s best kept secret. We looked at all campgrounds near here and this one is top notch. - gypsysoul
May 2008 - $25.00
Beautiful scenery...the bathroom facilities were unacceptable. There were wild rabbits running all around this place...even through the big puddles that were created when it rained. The man staffing the office was really nice and helpful. There is also a newspaper article hanging in the office about how the campground needed to be evacuated a few years back due to both creeks cresting their banks...interesting story, but questionable marketing practice to have it hanging in the office. - Dan Holdt
Apr 2008 - $30.00
We stayed here when we visited hershey Park. The sites are grassy and a little hilly. They are close together with no buffer. Some of the tent sites are very close to the highway so request one not near the mini golf. The kids loved the mini golf even though it was a little run down. They also loved walking to the camp store and buying .25 ice creams. The store is well stocked with anything you may have left at home. We did not use the showers but the bathrooms were okay. Nothing great. They are centrally located. There is no hot water in the bathrooms. Each site comes with a fire ring and a picnic table. - mastro

Bathrooms are falling apart and floors are very dangerous! Slippery as an ice rink... Plus the lights are only on a timer, no way to turn them on! It's dark in there even in the daytime! I fell and hurt myself, even with 3 shoe options and being very careful. Same goes for the men's and women's. And you can hear guns going off. Why would a state park allow hunting is beyond me. (even if you are a hunter, that's not the place = go into the woods!) - FunfinderXYZ
May 2019 - $41.00
We stayed in a nice full-hookup site in loop B perfect for our 36 ft travel trailer. Lots of space in the cite. Park rangers drove around every day to make sure everything was running smoothly. The park has lots of shade. The trails were very nice, though some have some steep hills. We’ve camped here many times, and plan on returning. - LolaAndPappy
Oct 2018 - $45.00
Site Details: We stayed in the Dragonfly camping cottage (quick weekend trip without the husband, and I'm not quite up for towing and setting up the popup by myself with 3 kids!). It was a standard rustic-type state park cabin, with one double bed, one single twin bunk, and one regular set of bunk beds, so it sleeps 5-6 comfortably. There was also a sturdy dining room table with chairs and an oscillating fan inside. Electricity/lights and heat, but no AC. Very clean inside. The cabin also had a really nice front porch, picnic table, and fire ring, and was situated with a beautiful lake view. The area we were in contained both rustic cabins and yurts (which looked really neat). Facilities/Overall Park: Multiple bath houses were scattered among various loops, and each one we visited was very old, dim and drab, but they were also spacious and reasonably clean. Showers all had old rust and water stains. However, it was nice that there were so many of them, because this is a very large state park with multiple camping loops. Most tent and basic RV sites were shaded and private, while the newer FHU sites were more open (but still nicely spaced). Hosts and rangers were nice, but not very helpful or proactive when my family members arrived to find their reserved site occupied by someone else (ended up finding a solution, but not the best way to start off the trip). There is a beautiful lake with a really nice day area in the center of the park, with a great playground and concession stand. The lake is popular for fishing and swimming, although there is oddly no sand beach; swimmers just entered the water straight from the grass. Overall, this was a very pretty park with site options for every type of camper, but certain elements are in need of updating. I don't think I'd go out of my way to make this park a destination, but it's a nice option as a base camp for visiting the RV show or other attractions. - Jenventola

Aug 2019 - $60.00
If coming from the Pa Turnpike, use the directions provided by the campground that goes to Rt 743 and turns right on Market St. My 36 ft travel trailer negotiated that route no problem (follow the KOA signs). The campground is clean and the owners and staff are absolutely top notch. I bought discount tickets for Hershey online that had to be printed and since I was at the campground I had no way of doing that. The staff took care of that for me. They provided a shuttle to Hershey Park and back which was very welcome not requiring me to drive and park there. I would definitely stay here again. - HighCountry_trio
Jul 2019 - $65.00
Stayed 2 nights in July 2019 in a "Full Hookup/PullThru" site. Paid $65.25/night ($72.50/night less 10% KOA ValueKard discount). There were no additional fees or taxes. If you're big or tall, suggest using Newville Road to go between 230 and Turnpike Rd. This is as opposed to using the GPS result which is the combo of Bossler/Zeagler/Deodate/Toll House streets. If you happen to use the GPS method, it is do-able for big rigs. You'll just have extra hill-and-dale country road diving. I love the KOA online reservation system and was happy to get into this park at the last minute (we landed in the area for an unexpected repair issue). Check in was easy. Office staff was pleasant. The grounds are very pretty and clean. Site was a long, gravel pull through with better-than-average space between rigs. Hook ups were placed well and worked perfectly. Clear sky for DirecTV satellite signal in our section. There are lots of trees in other sections so I imagine not all sites have clear sky. You might call the office if this is important to you. They offer cable with 28 channels but we did not use it. Verizon voice and data worked well. Did not try their wifi. Did not use amenities but they looked nice. Campground store was large, organized and likely to have anything you might need including a good selection of souvenir items. Very quiet and dark at night for restful sleeping. A few gripes - 1. Park brochure has ENTIRE front page FILLED with "Park Etiquette & Rules". I find that a bit off-putting. Normally it's the inside, back cover or on a separate sheet. 2. I specifically asked our escort about trees because we are tall (13'0"). He assured me all was fine. We brushed FOUR different tree branches going to site (no damage done). I made escort aware and he immediately had someone trimming. 3. Site was unlevel side-to-side so much so that our auto level system couldn't level without manual override. Overall this is a nice park and we would consider staying again. - GottaGoNow

We stay at Codorus at least once a year, it's an easy drive from Northern Virginia, and is a fairly large campground, so you can usually get a site even the week of your stay. Like most Pa state parks, it only offers electric sites (no water). We usually stay in Loop C, which is pretty heavily wooded and very shady. The bathhouse is a little old, and could use some updating. Some of the sites are a bit tricky to back in to because of the numerous trees. Loop B is pet friendly, and is much like Loop C. Loop D, which is newer, has only a few young trees, but a newer bathhouse and nice, open sites. - TimInVa
Aug 2019 - $29.00
I'm so glad we canceled our reservation at a commercial campground in Gettysburg and stayed here instead. Less than half the price and infinitely nicer - but of course you have to be able to live without water and sewer. Easy to do because of the dishwashing station and clean showers. We stayed in Loop B because we have dogs and all the sites are shaded by beautifully tall trees except 59 - 63. Our site was level, all the sites looked pretty level to me except maybe from front to back. Nice bike riding but the hill to the guard shack was too much for me! Unfortunately we were not there long enough to enjoy the lake. We would definitely stay here again and allow more time. - janci
Aug 2019 - $29.00
When we arrived, someone was still in our site (they left at 5). The rangers were very accommodating and moved us to a bigger/better site (159). The campground is extremely clean and fairly quiet. The bath house was the cleanest that I have seen during our many travels. The nearby lake is absolutely gorgeous and super clear. Amazing days kayaking! There are boat rentals and a swimming pool here as well. Sunday worship services if so desired. - Jo-Jay
