They said they were big rig friendly. We explained we are about the size of a tractor trailer. They said no problem. Well..problem! First of all it's location is on top of a mountain. Secondly, very low wires hanging down from the main road. And finally, the size. The camp site that we were in was too small for our fifth wheel. We had to get power from another unoccupied camp site. Leaving was a nightmare. A man built a fence close to the road on a slight turn. We would have hit it had he not come out and physically move his post. Even with that being said, i was forced to drive in a ditch and put my truck in 4 wheel drive to make it out of there. And straight down the mountain. It was no way big rig friendly. If you have a big rig, don't stop here. - Paratrooper

We arrived during a heavy rain before the office was officially open. We had to ring a bell for service and it was clear that I annoyed the woman (owner) that helped me who remarked, I can't believe you rang the bell during the rain. (She had to walk across the road in the rain) No escort to the campsite (couldn't find any marker for our site). When we found the site it was occupied by a truck that belonged to a gas line worker who was nowhere to be found. I had to walk back to the office in the rain, find help and had to walk back to the site because the owner passed right by me in his truck and let me walk back to the site in the rain. Talk about hospitality. Nice setting, mostly permanent resident campers, some gas pipeline workers which detract from the camping feel and atmosphere. Recently groomed sites and leveled with fresh gravel. Nice pool, very clean, nicely designed showers but not enough for the size of the campground. Got one cold shower during peak time. Nice lake but 24 hours after heavy rain the boats were still filled with water and unusable till we mentioned it to the help who commented, well it did rain yesterday. Decent game rooms but when we tried to play games the change machine was out of order (probably empty). Overall, nice setting, sites and amenities but management needs to pay more attention to details. - Joe kiesecker

We camped here in a 36' 5th wheel w/3 slides and a F-350 DRW truck. The FHU, pull-thru site was adequate size for the trailer and truck and was level with gravel surface. Picnic table and fire pit at site; 50 amp electric was good; cable TV was good; no satellite reception but over-the-air antenna was ok; could not connect to Verizon WiFi; Verizon cell phone reception was OK. I did not check restrooms/showers so can't comment. The site layout is a little strange; we found ours (#W-2) without too much difficulty but our neighbor really had a problem determining where he should park. There appeared to be a lot of "seasonal" campers. Interior roads are dirt, uphill, and there are a lot of trees but we were able to navigate with no problem. The campground is very rural (approximately 15 miles from I-81); there is a decent sized town (Clarks Summit) about 20 miles away. There are a couple of gas stations, w/diesel fuel, close by. The campground is heavily wooded and is very quiet. Owners/staff were pleasant and helpful. This was a 2 night stopover on our way to southern Pennsylvania. - Moneypenny

Fairground camping is located in an orchard across the street from the fair. I'm reviewing this for one reason: To let people know if they are ever attending the fair camping in the orchard is very safe and secure. No hookups, well lit, on site security and easy access to I-81. If we attend again we would definitely stay in the orchard. - florida08

Big Rig Friendly. This is a trailer park that the owner is adding RV sites. Our site was gravel, spacious and level. The owner was very accommodating. Currently this is a no frill park. Safe and secure, just what we need. Streets are wide. Full time residents are friendly. - Lama79

We stayed as a stopover on our way to FL. Access to the campground was easy, the owner interesting and the campground quiet. The site was pretty level and didn't require much to level the TT. The road in the campground was a bit narrow. It appeared that there were many full time or seasonal campers, perhaps related to work opportunities. I recommend this campground as a great home base to explore the area. - Cherylac
May 2019 - $30.00
This is a hidden gem, not far off the I-81. It is a wooded campground with gravel sites. Amazingly great wifi, as good as at home! Very good cable tv, using a box loaned by the office (we were confused about how to get the channels and entered all kinds of passwords, only to find out that they just come in by themselves!). Sites long enough to stay hitched for our 21-foot trailer. Owners are very nice and helpful. Not much around in terms of conveniences and washroom is located in home at entrance, so those are inconveniences. Good far outweighs bad, though, and we will be adding this campground to our travel route from Canada to South Carolina. - gregork
Jul 2018 - $30.00
Nice place. Shady lots, great wifi. You have to get a cable box from the office, but once you hook up the box, great channels. There's a good restaurant by the interstate called Bingham's. We went to the Coal Mining museum in Scranton, PA. for something to do. It's not alot to do here. Nice owners. Some spots you might want to engage your four wheel drive. There are some steep inclines. - archbarb

We stayed here the last week of August and again early October in a 30' travel trailer. The ranger was very friendly and helpful, and the campground was very nice. We stayed in Sites 46 and 28, at 50-amp sites The drive in was easy. Site 46 was not level but served its purpose as a one-night stop. Site 28 was level and easy to back into. We had good cell phone signal (Verizon 4G 4 bars) at the campsite. We received several channels of OTA TV, but none of the primes (ABC, NBC, CBS). There was no WIFI in the campground. The restrooms and showers are showing their age but were clean and acceptable. There were several trails for hiking, but we were not there long enough to check them out. Since both stays were a one-night stops, we did not take the time to check out any of the local sites. - Capt Gerry
Jul 2019 - $25.00
Eh, It's OK, that's all. If you are a hiker don't waist your time here. Not enough trails and the ones they have are overgrown and just plain suck. Campgrounds are OK and average. No wildlife here. No beach, no lake swimming. They do have a pool but its away from the camping area and gets really crowded by day users. We went down but it was so crowded it was actually gross, so we didn't go in as I will not allow my children swim in conditions like that. We will not return. - GDM
Sep 2016 - $27.00
It was a nightmare getting to this park. The gas took us off exit 199 on I-81 and so does the parks own reservation site, but THE ROAD HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR NEARLY A YEAR. We had to back up about a quarter mile to get back onto I-81 because there was no place to turn around. I had called the local office and was told to check I. At the big brown building, but our rig, which they were told was 40' couldn't make the circle by the offices, requiring another backing up and another phone call. We were told that was the correct building but there was another checkin at the campground. I was told with the senior discount it would be $25.50' but when we got there I was charged a$31 after the discount. We checked in on a Thursday afternoon but the ranger charged us for Friday rates because we were leaving on Friday...then said it was a computer glitch and finally agreed with me. She then said it would be $23 and she would bring the refund to our site. A different ranger came with a receipt showing $27 and stood there arguing with me because the lady had made another mistake and asked to see if I "really" had been charged $31....he wouldn't take my word for it. The woman at the gate told me that based on the price of our rig that $31 should seem cheap to us. Anyways, we got to the site and it was nice, but our experience had already been ruined. - Ginny H

We stopped here for one night as we were trying to make time across Pennsylvania. Passport America rate available so that was the saving grace. This is a tired campground. Upon arrival, there is a tipped over dumpster with trash strewn around. Sites and roads are gravel. Our site was not level and barely long enough to accommodate our rig (32'). Our tow vehicle is parked in the site next to us. Lots of tired seasonal units here. Good AT&T cell coverage, 10 or so channels over-the-air. No WiFi. No privacy from other campers. Brand new composite picnic table. The person who checked us in was friendly but not too knowledgeable about the campground or our site. - MangoandJune

I would like to give this park a zero but the water pressure was acceptable, hence we give them a 1. Park was filthy, silt from a creek overflow was everywhere. You were either in dust or mud. a calcium and/or gravel spread would have helped. Our motorhome just barely fit the pull thru site with nowhere to park the car except in the mud. A tree branch blocked the satellite view. When I asked to move the owner replied, "that's why we have cable", she did offer to move us to a site that was not a pull thru, when there were 5 pull thru sites to our left that remained empty. The park is over run with rules, regulations and fines. We traveled from Florida to visit our family of five and if they wanted to visit for a couple of hours it would have cost an additional $40.00 per visit and the owner would not budge on this issue. If you moved the fire ring they would fine you $100.00 and if you brought your own fire wood It was a $100.00 fine. WI-FI was advertised available but we found it to be only in one location. We reserved for ½ month stayed two days and did receive a partial refund. I honestly could not find any redeeming qualities about this park or staff or ownership. My advice, if you want to enjoy your camping experience don't stay here! - Jim Eason

Warm welcome from the owner and her staff. Clean laundry with new machines. Good arcade for the kids. Nice, level sites with easy back in or pull thru. Convenient to US 6. Beautiful setting by the Tunkhannock creek. We will definitely be back. - Tom Keenan

When checking in, lady said it wasn't paid. Had printed email receipt to prove payment. Site didn't have enough gravel and was water logged and muddy. Also unable to locate black water drain. Swarmed by bugs when outside vehicles. So disgusted we left and went to another campground. Was told they wouldn't refund our other night's stay reserved, would only give raincheck. Have been RV'ing for 9 years and this was the worst site ever. - Tama Tillman
May 2017 - $40.00
Our first time camping here in 2016 with our 'new to us' camper and we had hot water issues. The owner was very helpful and came by to help diagnose the problem. He explained what we were doing wrong and we had hot water in no time! The second time camping here in 2017 with another 'new to us' camper and we turned on our kitchen faucet to find the sprayer had cracked from improper winterizing. The owner came to our rescue AGAIN with a used sprayer and even installed it for us! We also did not realize that the sewer setup we had for the old camper was not long enough for the new one and the owner fixed us up with what we needed. The sites are HUGE and each have a nice picnic table and fire ring. The campground is kid-friendly and has a great playground, pool, and even mini-golf. A nice nature trail takes you to a quiet pond for fishing. The store is stocked with necessities and they have plenty of RV specific items as well. This was a very nice, quiet campground off the beaten path but very close to a town that can provide everything that you might possibly forget to take with you. We obviously liked it enough the first time to make a return visit and we will definitely be going here again! - logcabinnut

We came in late, nearing dark and had a hard time finding this remote campground. Owners very nice and helpful with directions (had to call 3 times on the way). We only stayed overnight and left early, so had little experience, but were told the sites were level. The owner said set up anywhere we wanted, and the site we picked looked as level as others, but it was terribly out of level. However, too late and dark to put any levels under wheels at that point. Otherwise, when you find the park, it is very nice and seems well maintained. We would likely not return, because we wouldn't be staying in the area, and it is too complicated to find from the interstate for just an overnight. We didn't have cell phone service, but surprisingly good TV reception with just our antenna. We paid $30 for just electric/water. - Faun

This campground is in the middle of nowhere. Sites are mostly taken up by seasonal weekenders. The road is steep and gravel. There is one toilet half way down the campground. The only showers were up at the check in. Walked up the hill to them, carrying our stuff only to find there was no water. They were darkly lit and unappealing. There is another campground 2 miles away that is not listed on this site that has to be better than this. Highway robbery for the prices amenities. - PF Churchill
May 2017 - $25.00
Stayed during Memorial Day weekend which was very busy. Overall the park is very rustic but the bathrooms and showers are clean. The pool seemed clean. There's a large playground with basketball hoop, swings & sea-saw for kids. The staff was very nice, readily available and helped as needed. The staff was very easy-going and accommodating to last-minute requests and upgrading.
The site is a mixture of overnighters and people who stay with their RVs for the season. With all the campsites full on the holiday weekend, it was very tight. Power and water are available at many of the sites, and others are primitive.
I think this would be a very nice campsite on a quieter weekend. The game room was older with a pool table, air hockey & pin ball machine. It is not a campsite with Wi-Fi and all the amenities. Don't expect hours of entertainment in the game room. It's the kind of campsite that you would relax by the fire, perhaps read, nap on a blanket in the field, play frisbee & enjoy nature. - CamperKim
Oct 2016 - $36.00
Directions to the campground were confusing, making it hard to find. It is quite a distance from grocery stores and gas stations. When I telephoned for assistance I got a recording. The facilities were minimal, the on-site staff was hard to find, the office was unattended and there was no answer at the posted telephone number, some of the interior roads were very steep, sites were heavily wooded. Our site a pull-thru horseshoe and not quite level. I would say that it was barely satisfactory for a short stay. - tweymouth
