$38 (with GS discount) and no wifi, no cable and no way to get satellite. As you drive in you get the impression of one of those RV places where people have parked their RV's over the years and forgot about them. There are RV's in there that have green and/or black uck covering them and they date back many, many years. They have their 'stuff' outside all around their RV's and it just looks bad. Our site was 83, all the way in the back. It was a 90 degree back in with a tree stump on one side to avoid and a tree on the other side to avoid from a very narrow gravel road with woods on the far side. Very difficult back in. The lot was as uneven as it could be and still park there. It felt SO tippy! We had to put 3" under the low side tires and the jacks were still extremely extended. We tip-toed around in the RV because we felt too tippy. There really wasn't a good place to set up a chair and/or table outside because of the slope. Outside our back window was a Class C that belonged in a junk yard with crap piled all around it. We closed our blinds so we didn't have to look at it. Never again! And....this had a 6.3 rating when I booked it. Unbelievable!!! - jomark
Oct 2018 - $43.00
Stayed here because everything in State College/Bellefonte was full on home coming weekend. The park is pretty run down, which I would expect if it was the end of the season, but they're open until mid-December. Water pressure was so low we filled the tank and ran off our pump instead. They say there is WiFi but nothing showed up. Verizon signal is marginal. Dish on the edge of no signal. Site sloped downhill to the point of having the front wheels of the ground to level. - jplante4

This campground is under new ownership. We used Holiday Pines as a home base while attending a nearby event. So, from that point of view we had no problems. Park was clean and quiet. Owners were friendly. The sites are a little tight for larger units and not very level but, we managed without too much trouble. - Mardet

We stayed four days & enjoyed the park. The showers in the (oak loop) are in extremely bad shape. They need to be cleaned up, as repainted with shelfs, etc. With the remainder of the park being in great shape, it's a shame something this minor gives a negative. We have camped in many other Pa parks & enjoy our stays. Hope this will be a positive review to improve this problem. Thank You. - walter emmert

This is a return visit and one night stop on our way east. CG was not full and we had our choice of sites. Had to use the self check in since we arrived after the office closed (16:00 Hrs). It was an easy process, but I screw it up (can't read)- but thanks to the host - it got straighten out. It looks like water activity is the main attraction: boating, fishing, canoeing, etc. Not sure I would stay for more than a day since water activity is not my cup of tea. While the RR/shower were fairly clean, they are dated and need some TLC - mainly paint and floor mats in the shower. Benches would also help. Access to the park did NOT require an extra fee. (that's a plus) We will return if we're in the area. - Dennis D

We decided to try this park because the nearby state parks and Corps of Engineers parks do not allow pets. Most of the folks staying in the park are working on local construction projects. Many others are seasonal. Only a few campers are vacationers staying a week or less. The negatives I read in other reviews are true. There is noise from the highway, a train, and from construction vehicles on the property. There is generally a run-down feeling due to the age of many units and restroom / shower. We were here Monday - Thursday, so weekend rowdiness was not an issue at all. But there was also much we liked. In fact, we ended up staying four extra nights. We stayed in the lower loop, which is used by the short-term visitors. Our site was right along the Susquehanna River. Our view were of mature trees and the river. It was very relaxing and peaceful. We used two of the owner's kayaks and thoroughly enjoyed an easy-going float along the river. We found the people here very friendly. I would definitely stay here again for these reasons. The scenery was really very nice and having easy access to the river for swimming, boating or fishing was a plus. Also, our dogs were welcome here. - Carolina Girl
Aug 2009 - $16.00
After making reservations at this campground, I read some not so great reviews. But we kept an opened mind, willing to make the best of it. However, when we arrived we found the house at the main entrance is run down with broken windows, the entrance driveway is over some very rough train tracks, many of the sites down in the campground have junk and scrap all around, and the whole feeling of the place is just plain scary! We turned around and left immediately. (We did not stay at this park.) - sssunshine

I just stayed at this campground, and as the previous review stated, it was seedy. A broken down refrigerator sits in one site with a lot of junk around it. It is very run down. I wouldn't want to stay in a place like this alone. This is not a place for a large RV. - PattyRVer

We chose this place as it would be close to the jobsite. We were told it was in good condition despite spring thaw and would have no trouble getting in an out. It was extremely muddy and required 4-wheel drive to negotiate. Also, you couldn't get to the RV without wading through mud. The job requires the boss be able to get in touch anytime. This was not possible even though the park personnel said AT&T would not work but that Verizon worked well. (We got a Verizon phone for this reason). Phone and computer access are required for the job as reports have to be submitted. The gentleman next door also could not use his phone or computer. There is virtually no lighting. The cable TV did not work. They knew that because the person before us also had problems with it. They did offer another site, but with the mud and no assurance that anything would be better, it seemed to be a lot of effort and muddy mess for little or no benefit. We were forced to move after 6 days so as not to jeopardize the job. We tried to work out a reasonable settlement with the owner for either the daily rate or 1/2 month to no avail. This disastrous park costs us $500.00 plus electricity for only 6 days. We felt that since the park did not live up to their end of the contract, there should be some refund. The owner was extremely rude and belligerent about the whole thing. We have stayed at many parks from rustic to elaborate and never had such poor conditions and service. - bw09
Jul 2008 - $40.00
I went to this campground because of good memories of camping there as a child. I wish I had gone to Little Pine State Park across the road. How much sense is it to charge $0.25 for a three minute shower? Especially since the showers lasted for only two minutes (this coming from more than one person). There are no temperature controls and sometimes the water is very hot, sometimes cold and rarely just right. There are also no changing areas with each shower stall so undressing and dressing takes place out in the common area with no privacy. The coin machines are also on the opposite wall from the showers so after putting a quarter in you have to cross the room to get into your shower. If the shower stops while you are halfway through with your shower you have to cross the room again and insert another quarter. After confronting the owners about paid showers, all they could say was "It has been that way for years". No explanations of conserving water or anything else. I require a breathing machine at night so we requested a tent site with electric and water service. Our so called tent site while big was all stone! The grass tent sites didn't have electric service. Some of these tent sites could only barely fit a two person tent and didn't have any fire rings or picnic tables. It seems they are concentrating on their cabins and yurts rather than their tent or RV sites. We stayed there for five nights no other tent or RV site was occupied except for the one next to ours which happened to be my parents! Only one or two of the cabins were filled during this time. For those of you with allergies to certain pool chemicals beware. They use Bromic acid in their pool. There aren't any signs stating this and my daughter got a rash from the pool chemicals. I would not recommend this campground to anyone and certainly will not go there again. - stnkds

This is the second campground where I have camped (new RV owner). I picked one of the best spots that was close to the dam and backed right up to the creek. Showers and bathrooms were nice and clean. I WILL come back here again. This was a very nice experience - leversole

Even with just a 24' TT, site #52 wasn't easy to back into. Gravel site with firepit & table was convenient to water source. No cell service but we managed a weak signal along the power lines at intersection of Boiling Spring and Overlook trails. A recent storm has brought down many trees along the trails and roadways but staff is working hard to clean up. Park rangers were diligent with visitors to adhere to park rules. One rule I don't get is not allowing dogs AT ALL in the no-pet section of the campground. How is one supposed to get to the trailhead that begins at the end of the campground if not permitted to walk a leashed dog on the road to get there? Very quiet area, very small lake with good fishing. Trails are short but maintained. A nice campground for a short stay. - nature girl
Sep 2018 - $34.00
Large sites but very tight roads driving to sites, trees close to road. Driving a 37 ft Motor home with a toad - difficult, narrow one way roads, very hilly, tough to find a level place in road to unhook toad. Gavel sites. Paved road in campground. Picnic tables and fire rings.Very wooded (really tall trees), no satellite. No cell reception. Beautiful area, but you better have dvd's or other entertainment if you are going to stay long. If booked in advance, just go to site, no need to check in at office. Sites well marked. Roads leading to campground are 2 lane and rather tight. Our site was a 45 ft site, with 50 amp power, no water or sewer. Some sites had water but many are 30 amp. - A Adams
Jul 2016 - $24.00
This is a very nice state park, IF you have a smaller-sized rig. We stayed here for a couple of nights in a 40' fifth wheel. It was difficult getting our rig backed-in to the site. The roads are narrow (beautiful roads through the forest) and, of course hilly. There is a separate camping area for those with pets. We love this state park. Unfortunately, our rig is too long for us to utilize it again. Beware: cell-phone service is non-existent. This is a dead zone. Antenna tv service is not available. We were here for three nights while visiting relatives. It was nice to be off the grid for a bit. - oldbluejay

We joined KOA & have stayed at many of their campgrounds. For us, with no children, they are all over priced but usually the only decent choice in that area. This campground has all the amenities for the kids. The spaces are very tight, you'll get to know your neighbors. We were here just one night. 50 amp electric worked fine. Did not hook up water or sewer. Our back in site was just long enough for our coach & towed parked sideway in front. Small concrete patio area with table. Gravel site & gravel (narrow) roads. 20 minutes to State College. We would not stay here for an extended stay. - Ketelhut

Second time we've stayed here. Excellent and friendly staff. CG is on a hill so there's a problem with roadway erosion, but they're trying to keep up with it. Several full-timers, but they're also friendly and great folks. MUCH better than saying at a KOA! - Walt Bennett
May 2019 - $55.00
The best word I can think of is "Ramshackled". Add this to the list of campgrounds that might have been nice once but suffer from lack of maintenance. The roads were dirt and stone and terribly rutted from all the rain. These were not little ruts. I was afraid to drive our toad in and out for fear of bottoming out and damaging the suspension. The sites were hilly and difficult to level on. We used every bit of apparatus we had including the hydraulic levelers and all of our blocks. We had to convert to a 50 amp connector. The post was too low to the ground to allow us to use a surge protector with the 30 amp adapter. Under normal circumstances not a big deal but given the rundown nature of the campground it made us nervous. The advertised Wifi didn't work at all and the recreational amenities listed were mostly not usable except for the "water lagoon" which is relatively new. There seemed to be one very pleasant lady working the campground for the holiday weekend. She did everything. State College is neat and there is a lot to do in the beautiful area but maybe stay at another park up the road instead. - Mr October

Deciding on Haleeka was purely because of the very positive reviews here on RVParkReviews. Unfortunately, we had a very, very different experience. First, we have a very small motorhome (23-feet) and the entrance to the the park was quite small; our sides rubbed on plants on both sides as we entered. It is also directly on a 2-lane highway, making me a bit nervous to have to slow down enough to get straight down the narrow driveway. When we arrived an older couple said their son usually takes care of the park, but he was out of state. They showed us the site we were supposed to be in, but the person in the run-down trailer next to it had quite a bit of trash and it had cascaded over into the site. Instead, I was shown another site. In this one, the sewer pipe came out of the ground and extended for about 10 feet and ended in a pipe opening that would not take a thread and, because it was pointed along the ground rather that straight up to the sky, just placing our sewer tube into it would have caused sewage to leak on the ground. Then I discovered the water faucet was dry, and told him that the site was unacceptable. He then offered to put me into another site with only electrical and water and would tell the run-down trailer person to clean up his trash. All of these things caused me to just say, no thanks, we'll be moving along. While the park landscaping looked nice, all but 5 of the sites were occupied by other very trashy, run-down trailers that looked like they hadn't moved in many years, and I just didn't feel comfortable. Also, when I asked about the WiFi, they first told me they had no idea what that was, and then said their son took care of that sort of thing. Overall, this RV park was not for us, so we moved on and found another park in the area. - RobtL

Small park on a small creek north of Williamsport PA. Resident manager. Our 37 foot 5th wheel just did fit into largest available site. Very quiet, most RV sites are wooded, about 1/3 are located along the creek. About 2/3 of sites appeared to be seasonal campers with a few apparently permanent residents. Water is lightly sulfurated, use bottled water for drinking. We stayed about a week and found the facility clean and relaxing. No satellite friendly RV sites. - jwkinneyjr

Campground is NOT big rig friendly. Thought I might be in trouble when I pulled in and the mirrors on my 38' DP would barely fit between check-in station and building. 1'st attempt they tried to put my 38,000 lb coach into wet grass spot next to locations closed due to 'soft grass'. 2'nd attempt tried to put me into spot on top of steep dirt hill with multiple deep ruts which would have bottomed out MH and had a wire in trees over path that I may not have cleared with my 13' tall MH. After much searching, owner finally found us a spot that could work. Fortunately, we checked out sites with towed Jeep. They should not have given me a reservation when I told them I had a 38' motorhome. . Most spots are seasonal / permanent TTs with a few 5'th wheels. Campground needs work for transients. For example, initial electrical hookup showed reverse polarity (which they promptly corrected). Sewer line was straight horizontal pipe with open end and no upturned capped connector which they provided a RV sewer hose stuffed loose into the pipe as a workaround. Stayed 2 nights as planned, in a 38 ft. DP motorhome. - Nildecaf

May 2016 - $65.00
This is a very quiet, clean campground, but when we camped there they packed us close to other campers, and we were out in the hot sun with no shade. It was a long walk up the hill to the nearest shower/bathroom facility, and you had to press the shower every 10 seconds to get water. Seems to be a better place to go for seasonal campers. - Diffycamper22
