Very nice campground! Staff very nice and helpful, would give this a higher review, but we were there for an overnight and they were winding down for the season. - wentercon
Aug 2019 - $65.00
Check the website or call campground on directions off the interstate. Your GPS may lead you on a very bad but doable road. Campsites gravel, level. Premium sites in the camp for upcharge. Both pull through and back in sites. Back in sites slanted and looked easy enough. Fire rings, picnic tables. 3 bar Verizon. Wifi varied. Sometimes very good, sometimes very slow. My wifiranger helped. Nice laundry 24 hours. Small pool but nice. Some sites sat friendly, but there is park cable and OTA stations. FHU's to rear. no issues with elect./water/sewer. Small camp store. My site 12 looked to be sat friendly but did not set up. Lots of things to do in the area. Walmart just a few minutes away. Many restaurants in area. I did ask for escort to site. Office personnel nice friendly. Saw a many big rigs in park. Some full time residents, but units well kept. Would stay here again. - wtravlr1

Close to Interstate 80 in western PA. Many trees providing shade but also making navigating the campground difficult especially in big rigs. - sure2rain

Sep 2019 - $38.00
We averaged $38 / night for 2 nights for W / E30 / S. This is a very nice campground not too far off I-80. Nice campground with shaded sites. Road into our pull through site was narrow and had to be careful not to hit neighbors awning. Had to use a couple of leveling blocks. Sites were tight together too for our 37 foot motorhome. It is CRITICAL that you approach from the north off of Route 258. DO NOT approach from south off of Route 62 as it is very steep and you may bottom out!!! - Teddi2
May 2019 - $38.00
First Impression: Hard to find. Pleasant roadside appearance. Safety: No concerns. Access: Skyline Drive has two access points - one off US-62 is an unusable, uphill, gravel path while the one off PA-285 is correct. GPS will try to send you to the gravel path - DON'T GO THERE. Go out PA-285 about 3 miles. Road sign is good. Skyline drive is asphalt in fair condition. Office: Token store with snacks and soft drinks. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations not available. No price discounts. Facilities: Huge pool. No spa, fitness room, or rec center. Two shower buildings. North showers are disgusting. Mold, dirt, aging fixtures - unusable. South showers much better but some mold, low water pressure (score "B"). No propane sales. Multiple playgrounds. No off-leash dog run. Tennis courts. Shuffle board. Horseshoes. Campground: Not in a flood plain. Use showers as storm shelters. Moderate to heavily wooded. Interior roads are very narrow, gravel in good condition with acceptable turns and no overhead obstacles. Big rig challenging as transient sites are short. Numerous tent areas but no yurts or cabins. This CG caters mostly to seasonal campers. Sites vary nearby-to-generous, sufficiently level, gravel, pull-through and back-in, grass between. Pedestals at front of site with electric 20/30/50; no meters. Water has a brown tint - a Brita filter cleans it nicely. Good taste. Sewer pipe is 4" threaded, about 4" above ground level. No patios; usable picnic tables. Sites have fire rings. Very poor satellite views (mature, tall trees). No cable TV. OTA TV found 5 channels but pixelated reception. Pay Wi-Fi. Verizon phone at 3 bars; 4G at 2 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: No railroad, aircraft, traffic, or interstate noise. Bug Report (late May): no insect issues. Runners: CG roads poor for running. Yoga: Grass areas usable for your mat. Conclusion: Score 5-Acceptable. - StephenK

Not only is the value, service, & cleanliness, excellent but the hospitality is second to none. Picture yourself selling your home and becoming a "Snowbird" at the end of Dec. only to return at the end of March, hoping to find a new home. That's what we did, but first allow me to say, we stayed in many RV Parks including "elite" resorts in Las Vegas where you couldn't connect to their WIFI or dump your holding tanks without tremendous frustration let alone, have room to extend our awnings or barely get our vehicle parked clear of the drive lanes. Honestly, I thought we were set up in the RV storage area. OK, that said, returning to our home county of Mercer PA. we find few if any campgrounds/resorts open before May 1st let alone, with sights available for a months stay. Thankfully we found "RV Village Camping Resort" where we were welcomed like old lost friends. The girls behind the desk worked to provide us with a level pull through site where we set up housekeeping in our 37 foot 5th wheel, through the middle of May if need be. Never any issues with electric, water, or sewage. Would I stay here again... you bet I would but we're hoping to move into our new home by the end of May then prepare, for our trip south, this coming winter. We would like to say THANK YOU, it was a great pleasure and honor to have met everyone. You all, are so very kind. WIFI is free for a two day trial then charges by the week, month, etc. Cost is minimal (cheap in my book) but the system worked very well. We used the system for "RV Trip Wizard" as well as various real estate sights. YouTube also streamed well. (had to watch Traveling Robert, he hee). - Griswolds on Vacation

Not a big commercial campground fan, but this is the most gorgeous commercial campground we have ever stayed in. The place is enormous. Sites are very nicely spaced. Most campers are seasonal, but their sites are in excellent condition and all rigs look very road worthy. Most are big fifth wheels. There is one set of bathrooms, but clearly everyone has their own facilities. As far as I know all sites are full hookups. Great family place with a heated in ground pool, lovely playground, volleyball set up and some trails around the campground. The owners are extremely friendly and nice. The place is immaculate. Very pretty landscape and we enjoyed our pull through with full hook ups. Even though we were only staying one night, we had a very nice site. I would absolutely stay here again and would even stay longer. - Nomadsinlove
Aug 2018 - $58.00
As most of the other reviewers have stated, and I agree, this is a beautiful campground. It is well maintained and every site is manicured and clean. It is easy to see that when the CG owners care, so do the people who stay, whether for one day or all season. During several long walks with the K9, I did not see one site that needed cleaning or updating. And being out in the country, the "sleepability" was excellent. It was peaceful and quiet at night. My only complaints, and they are not huge, is that there was no Wi-Fi the night we stayed, and I thought the rate was a tad high for a transient. The Wi-Fi was not a big deal for one night, but if we had stayed longer, it would have made a difference for us. No question, if in the area again, it will be Rocky Springs for us. - Love To Travel 2
Jul 2018 - $47.00
$47/ day FHU rock site with picnic table and firepit Pros Absolutely beautiful campground Sites are spacious and beyond well maintained Wildlife galore - loved watching groundhogs and chipmunks peak out of the forest Family owned and run - they really care about the campground and it shows Pool was the perfect temperature Nice camp store with last minute items/ice cream/souvenirs Clean restrooms Laundry available Cons WiFi was a pain - you have to log back in constantly Not within anyone's control but the deer flies were intense (early July) - hopalongrving

Sep 2018 - $69.00
This park was rated a 9.3 on RV Park reviews, and I am not sure that is a good rating. It is nice and secluded, and weather should not be a factor even though it poured and acorns were bouncing off of our RV all day and night, but there was no wifi, and their DSL internet was only good for one device per site? The park was empty on our stay because they close up on October 15th, and we were there Sept. 25th-27th It might be really thriving between Memorial day and labor day? Price seemed awfully high for off season rates? - Vipermanden
Aug 2018 - $72.00
Fantastic park, especially if travelling with kids. Lots of room between sites. Rather large campground. Great general store. Also had a snack bar we did not use. Pool is large, clean, and was uncrowded when we were there. They also inflated a 30 foot high water slide and bounce house that my kids thought was great. The only problem, is at all with the park, is the seasonals right next to the river access points and they access was not clearly marked. Felt like we were tramping through someone's yard to get to the river. Everyone was very friendly. They guide you right to your site at check-in and make sure everything is to your expectations before leaving to guide the next camper. - nittanyguy
Jun 2017 - $60.00
This park was packed when we were here on a weekend. Most sites are seasonal but they are for the most part neat. Our site was a pull through, plenty long and all level concrete. Roads are curvy, hilly and tight. Biggest drawback are many golf carts. Roads are too narrow for them running around along with people walking and vehicles coming and going. I can see need for them if someone is disabled, but most could benefit from the walking. Only one wifi pass per unit. Cable and other utilities work well. Lots of shade in most sites. - padre

Park Rangers & Camp Host are helpful and very kind. Campground is great for walking / biking... We enjoy the lake from our boat. Easy access to put boat in water. - Red0802
Jun 2017 - $12.00
The Shenango Rec Area is a really nice facility. They don't try to pack them in, leaving nice private spaces between the sites. They offer electric in some sites but there are no full hookups available. Trash bins are located all through the campground and all the roads are nicely paved. My only complaint: The dogs. While most dogs were well behaved and quiet, one dog, just two sites over, barked incessantly. It was making us upset to the point we were going to report the owners but we didn't. We will use this campground again. A reminder to all seniors. June 30, 2017 ends the one-time $10.00 fee for a lifetime pass to all the national parks and most federal parks. The senior pass is good for the cardholder and three others in the vehicle. Our campground site at SRA was half price! - Have Camper-Will Travel

Friendly staff, all that one expects from the Army Corp parks! Clean site, facilities. Senior pass rate always a welcome value.
OTA and Verizon both good. Stayed two nights and was so pleased I stayed another two.
Will be sure to return yet again. First come sites are great for travelers! - Wicked Witch

Sep 2017 - $37.00
We only stayed in this park for one night; we were in a pull-thru and didn't disconnect our Jeep. The gentleman in the office showed us to our site. Even though the electric had a 50 amp outlet, our motor home's meter only showed 30 amps coming through. The man had explained that that might happen, but that it really was 50 amps. Strange. It didn't matter to us that night as it was cold and we didn't need any a/c. There was nothing special about the campground; looks like there are a lot of seasonal rigs parked there. It was not convenient to I-79 so we wouldn't come again. Also, a warning for anyone pulling out onto route 358 (Hadley Road), it is a narrow, blind intersection and the traffic comes at you at 60 miles per hour. - dbcordello
Jul 2014 - $26.00
This is a very nice park; family owned for many years. Staff is very friendly and helpful. After they saw the size of our rig, they willingly changed our reserved site to a larger one and escorted us to it. Many full-time residents but all sites were very well maintained. Lots of trees and plenty of shade but no problem getting large rigs around the roads. The sites are gravel but very level. They even have a flush toilet in the outhouse in the tent area. - SandyA

May 2019 - $40.00
We stayed in our 30ft travel trailer for 2 nights. Hosts were very nice and helpful. The majority of the campground are seasonal/year round campsite with very few overnight spaces. The seasonal folks are very welcoming. They had a snack bar and a store, both which were fairly cheap. The snack bar had good food/ice cream. There was a pool which wasn't open but looks like it would be nice in the summer (We stayed in early May). The only reason we rated 7 instead of higher was because the daily campsites had little gravel and A LOT of mud. It did rain the day we came in, as well as the day we left. There was a giant mud pit next to the campsite, as well as the parking spot where my truck sat. There was gravel for the camper itself and around where the picnic table was. The hosts were extremely helpful with helping us navigate around the mud and into our campsite. At the time we left, it had just rained and the truck sunk in mud. We were worried we were going to get stuck on our way out but thankfully with 4-wheel drive, we were able to pull out without any issue (aside from mud along the side of our truck and on our floor mats!) We overall had a good stay, met great people, and enjoyed ourselves. Our recommendation for the owners would be to add gravel to areas you would back your camper in and the parking portions of the overnight spots. - OR248

The campground is actually located in Clarks Mills, which is close to Sandy Lake. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The sites were spacious and well-maintained. There was a beautiful lake only a five to ten minute walk from the entrance and it is full of fish. Eagles can also be seen nesting nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - John A Guderian

This place gives you the impression, that back in the day it was probably good. We were in the only pull thru area, but roads are not wide enough to make turns, had to pull in on 1 spot to get into our spot, spots are not angled so pretty impossible to get out too, without driving over grass, The place is pretty run down and not very well kept at least in the section that is Not Seasonal Campers, where we were. We have dogs and we went for a walk and walked they the park, some one from the permanent section yelled at us no dogs in the park, the park a rules did not say this, but he felt that this was necessary to inform staff. This place at best is worth 20 a night, the view from our sight was facing the back of someone else's shed - User3138
Jul 2017 - $40.00
Crammed in like sardines, they don't take bank cards at Snack shack, no change machine in laundry facility. .25 for three minutes on dryer! Spent 13.00 on one load, left with damp clothes. Our site was literally two feet off the road! Couldn't use fire pit, too close to our camper, 50.00 fine if you move it! Bingo was a rip off, spent 40.00 and yelled bingo but she said she didn't hear me! She said oh well , I guess I'm the bad guy! You couldn't even understand her calling, she mumbled and was a poor individual to be calling numbers. Entire place was a money pit! Not worth the money. Sites were awful!!! Rude front office workers. Do not waste your time or money camping here.Fines for everything, Not a friendly place to camp and relax. - Deb Mailliard

This is as nice a Jellystone park as you will ever find. The staff is friendly, the grounds are woodsy, and sites reasonably level and large. Lots of organized activities for those who want them. - Charisma1965
Aug 2016 - $37.00
This has just become our favorite (close to home) park. Paved roads, large level gravel sites, nice pool, good playground, excellent mini-golf course. Staff was very friendly and helpful; we were escorted to our site and given help to get backed in since they don't have pull-thru sites. All hook-ups worked well although the water outlet was rather far from the site; we had to use our 50' hose to get connected. The wifi worked well and we were able to get a lot of channels off the antenna. Their dog park had ramps and tunnels and other obstacles which our pups enjoyed much more than just a bare lot to sniff around in. They were constantly working to maintain and improve the sites, although the park was already in excellent condition. There were almost constant activities scheduled for the kids and, even though participation was low during the week, they still put them on. My only slight complaint - and the only reason I didn't give them a 10 -was a $15 charge for a wrist band to use the jump pads, mini-golf and bike rental. If you only have one child, the free mini-golf was pretty much useless and she had her own bike so it came down to too much money for a couple of minutes on the jump pad. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. - SandyA
