This is an older campground that has recently been taken over by Sun RV resorts. Ice cream and mini golf are reasonably priced. The pool is small and not enough chairs. The bathrooms are clean but dark and dated. We camp here every year for the Memorial Day holiday. They show an outdoor movie which is a fun event for everyone; you can watch from your golf cart or bring blankets and chairs. Sites are shaded and have some privacy due to the established trees in between sites. There is an RV area with out trees which might be good for spring and fall camping. There is a pond for fishing, plenty of open space for baseball, frisbee, etc. People need to be respectful of others and pick up after their dogs when walking their dogs in the play area. The staff is welcoming and friendly. There are boats for rent. There are a lot of seasonal units; most are very well maintained. The golf carts get a little out of hand....lots of near misses, driving at night with no lights, speeding, etc. Parents seem to let their kids (under age ) drive the golf carts and they have little control or don't know the rules of the road. We rode our bikes to travel around the campground but most campers seem to use the golf carts or walk. They sell Hershey Ice Cream. Very good! Kids seem to enjoy this campground. Lots of family activities. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground the first weekend in May. This is one of the nicest and cleanest campgrounds we've ever stayed at. We had a deluxe red carpet site. We booked this weekend the previous July, it's a very popular campground. The interior roads were all paved, our campsite had a concrete pad. Very level. The campground is a bit of a maze, we found our campsite easily but there are people who can guide you to your site if you so wish. Some of the interior roads were a bit tight. Everyone there was very friendly and accommodating. Check in was fast. It has the nicest camp store of any that I've seen. Our site was next to our friends who we went with. Even though they were right next door we were separated by trees and bushes, so it gave us quite the feeling of privacy. The water pressure was good. The electric was conveniently located and stable. The sewer hook up was at the rear of the site but I was able to hook up without problem. My only complaint is that the sewer was slightly uphill, which was a little problematic when it came time to dump. The sewer connection was not threaded either. A rock on top of that took care of the problem. There are many things to do at this campground like hiking and fishing. The fishing was pretty good. They also rent golf carts, we rented one and enjoyed ourselves driving around this quite large campground. Plenty of stuff for kids to do. All in all an excellent weekend getaway. I would highly recommend this campground. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Nice place for a family with kids and a small unit. Not the place for a big rig and tow. Turns are tight, very tight, and someone decided huge rocks around the curves would be aesthetically pleasing. I guess to keep folks off the grass, but it's really tight. At check in there is just not enough room at the entrance. If you try to pull out of the way you block all the cars that are parked up there, not to mention the kids and golf carts! Plus the "gate" is atrocious. Honestly we barely make it through. Pretty place off the beaten path, so keep in mind you'll be driving 30 minutes to get anywhere. The quarry is loud, as is the speedway, but with AC's running you really don't hear it much, and you tend to tune it out. We didn't find it a problem. Others we were with love it, just depends what you're looking for! But I wouldn't recommend it for big rigs. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Let's start out by saying "don't believe the hype". Staff--rude, young, and more interested in looking at their phones than deal with the campers. Gentleman that seemed to be the manager didn't even say hi, and seemed completely disinterested in going out of his way to make us feel welcome. Campsites--completely overgrown....had to cut down weeds/brush to sit at the campfire. AND, the quarry next door was very loud. Restaurant--nice inside, but was closed most of our stay, so we didn't even eat there. Pool--clean. Seasonal/Resident Campers--biggest issue, as they think they own the place and are completely rude and uninviting. Had an older couple on their golf cart swear at my 11yr old son because our French Bulldog wondered off the site. Another resident camper stopped us while driving the golf cart to tell us we we're breaking the rules, which we were not. Overall--we won't be going back, and are completely taken back by the whole experience We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Stayed for the three-night minimum at beginning of June. We had a premium site ("Gold") and it was big, level concrete pad with pea gravel surrounding it, with a great view of field and "lake" (actually just a big pond.) Pluses: Park is beautiful and kept clean; on-site restaurant that had decent food; plenty to do for the kiddos (pool area is especially amazing - large indoor/outdoor pool, separate splash pool, and a kids pool featuring a pool "bar".) Negatives: extremely loud quarry operation neighboring the park, did not shut down until 10pm on Fri! Also, loud dirt track raceway nearby (was not operating the weekend we stayed, thankfully.) If you want quiet, may have to look elsewhere. More pricey than most parks we stay at (it is advertised as a "resort" however.) We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park, a little tough to get to in a 45 ft motorhome. My only real complaint is the constant noise coming from the working rock quarry near by? We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is top notch - great pool, restaurant, amenities. What was surprising was that unlike the typical RV park where cabins make up a small percentage of the site, the cabins dominate this park with the RVs being in the minority. The bathrooms should be rated a 9 rather than a 10 by Good Sams because it was relatively small, the stalls were way too small for tall person, and the showers were annoying because you had to hold the water button the entire time or it shuts off in 5 seconds. The campground is a bit secluded and some of the religious suggestions were a little freaky. Other than that, it was a nice stay and we had a great time with family and friends. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Pricey park in the woods. Nice for family's....not so much for couples. Supposed to give one free night for every seven; something they won't mention to you on the phone. We stayed for 12 and we paid for 12 so go figure. Neatly kept park with plenty for the kids. Not particularly big rig friendly, but doable. Some nice shady spots; bring the bug spray. Off the beaten path so plan on driving at least 20-30 minutes to attractions. Nice get away campground. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

This park had everything! So much beauty. Our spot was a red carpet site which was paved. Huge site. Engulfed in the forest; yet easy to keep the doggie clean. There are all kinds of activities, a Cafe, an ice cream shop, boat rentals, playground. This place makes you want to stay. It is pricey, but treat yourself, it is ok to do that once and a while. The kids will love it too. The price reflects stay 7, the 8th night is free. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

A wonderful and meticulously kept RV park. Very large park with sections for seasonal and long time renters. We stayed in one of their red carpet sites which was very spacious, nice level cement pad, included picnic bench and in ground fire ring. Best Wifi reception we have seen in an RV park. Great location within an hours drive to Hershey, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Winterthur estates, Wyeth house and art galleries. Wonderful supermarket Shady Maple just 4 miles away in case you need anything. Also on site RV repair from some of the permanent residents. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

This was a nice campground for those with kids and looking for activities. They had a large pool with a diving board and a hot tub, lake with boats to be rented, miniature golf, golf carts to be rented (which you almost need to do here as the park is so large), a cafe and an ice cream store. Campground is heavily wooded which made it feel very dark, no hope of satellite, no wifi. Lancaster was about 40 minutes away. Our site was surrounded by bushes, which made us feel cramped, but also provided privacy. Site was level with full hook-up. We don't usually spend this much on a cg, but were meeting other family members. Great for vacation, not necessary for our needs though at that price. Well-kept, friendly service. This is a top campground. All roads are paved, sites are very nice, many sites have concrete pads. Pools are inside and out (continuous) two smaller pools/spray for little ones. Very nice snack bar/cafe. Store is very nice with ice cream parlor.

Has a very nice lake (about 6-8 acres) with OK fishing for the kids.

This place is very well kept and top notch, no nonsense. Alcohol not "allowed" but as long as you keep on site and quiet, no problem.

No HOBOs here, just top of the line seasonals and small trailer houses.

We go here at least twice to three times per year. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy to buy good firewood roadside as well as fruits and vegetables from local Mennonites. Weavers is the place for groceries, but there is a good orchard nearby that has a very good store, I think it is Stoufers.
