If you are looking for a spacious, wooded campsites then Spring Gulch is for you. All the elite sites are among the best you will find of any campground. The rest rooms are very clean and well maintained, the pool and hot tub were left open due to unseasonably warm weather. The campground sponsored activities each night, including their Thanksgiving in October. The location in the Welsh Mountains is one of the best location in all of Lancaster County. - dadseven
Jul 2019 - $65.00
We stay in here every year for just under a week next to our friends in the 1500 section. The staff could not be friendlier or the park cleaner. Plenty of room for our 45ft coach and full hookups. - WMSmith
Jul 2019 - $86.00
Very nice park, eaay access to spacious sites. A bit expensive at $86 a night. Golf cart rentals by an outside vendor at nearly $100 a day so be prepared. We will definetly stay here again. - Mgee

Let me start by saying the people working at this RV park were very friendly and helpful. It's a very large park with around half of its spots occupied by seasonal campers. The park itself is built into a steep hill and that's where the problems began. When we arrived they escorted us to our site only to find that is was impossible to back into with our 36' 5th wheel due to the extreme slope and trees on 3 sides of the site. Management quickly found us another site which was not much better but was all they could offer. The roads in the park are very narrow and while heading to the new site we scraped a tree that obviously had been struck many times. Our new site was very large but the entrance was almost completely blocked by a giant boulder. After several attempts we got in. As I said the roads in the park are very narrow and pocked with pot holes. There are many rock islands where 2 roads meet making turning difficult. On the good side, Halloween is very big in this park and they had a great hayride and haunted house. The park needs to improve their roads and remove a lot of trees. While the staff was great I would not stay here again. - TED JURY
Oct 2019 - $50.00
Arrival and check-in was smooth. Staff were available to assist with questions and directions to site. This is primarily a gravel lined site for motor homes, but fortunately a overnight spot was available for tents. Positives were staff courtesy, cleanliness, laundry, activities for kids, fire pit and picnic table at the site. Hiking trails were not in great shape but I don't believe many take to the trails. - outsideismyinside
Oct 2019 - $50.00
We stayed during their Halloween Weekend. There were many activities, including hayrides and a haunted house. We enjoyed seeing the kids trick ot treating. The check-in was quick and easy. The staff was very helpful in making sure we got to the site and settled. Our site had a full hook-up, including cable. Cable picture quality was not great. The OTA quality was good, but there were very few channels. AT&T cell signal strength was weak. Overall, we enjoyed the weekend and will probably return. - BillU8

My wife and I stayed here mid of Oct 2019. We found this to be an excellent campground. The staff were polite and very helpful. The location is well placed to see and enjoy all that Lancaster County offers. When entering I was put off by the entrance gate which is behind the building and not immediately visible. It looked tight but I was able to get my 42' fifth wheel thru without any difficulty. Full hookup site was very spacious. Mostly level, but I did use more blocks on my door side. - Bob and Karen
Oct 2019 - $1.00
We stayed at site S1, which was right on the river. This was our first outing with our new camper and the staff were exceptional in helping us to get us into the site and settled. The park was clean and we had no issues with the facilities. AT&T signal was excellent. OTA TV was poor at our site. - BillU8
Jun 2019 - $1.00
This place is pretty crowded with the FHU sites all around each other. It is surrounded by the Conestoga River so there is not much land around for trails. We took a site along the main road and there is not a lot of room for the truck. WiFi is sketchy, have to pay for cable but got the best OTA stations with antenna toward Harrisburg. The water quality is good; electric good. Lots of activities such as pool, basketball, etc. There are sites along the river, but they are just W/E. There is a large ball field down near the river to let the dogs loose to get some exercise. There is a trail along the river. - Kerch Family

Oct 2016 - $46.00
The park was clean we got there just after a storm came through so the weather wasn't very good. We got there a little late they waited for us. It was a nice place to camp for the weekend. I would stay again. There road ways are all paved. But it was late in the season so everything was closed up. But we were there for a Company Picnic some where else so it was a good place to camp for the weekend. - ztoymaker
Jul 2016 - $30.00
My husband and I stayed in a popup camper on 4th of July weekend. We had to arrive late, they were fine with it. We got a pull-through site. We forgot a few things but their little supply store had everything we needed. They do have a $10 minimum for cards though. The sites were nicely spaced and clean. The "quiet time" was 11 pm. We didn't hear a peep after then which was very nice. They had plenty of activities to do so you weren't bored. The fireworks on July 4th were AWESOME! The downsides were the narrow roads, WiFi was only available at the Office area and the map was a little hard to read at first but other than that it was great. We will definitely be back! - NKatieA
Sep 2014 - $49.00
Overall a good CG and well kept. Although we had a very good stay, I took a couple points off for minor annoyances. All sites are gravel with lots of trees and grassy areas for tents. The pool is only open 10-5 which I thought was silly if a person is out doing tourist stuff during the day and wants to relax by the pool in the evening. Most of the roads are narrow and curvy so you may want to walk to your assigned spot first to ensure you can make it. During the weekend there are a lot of tent campers, kids, and dogs but everyone adhered to noise hours. There are a lot of full-timers and some of those spots look rather trashy which initially cast a negative outlook to our decision to stay there. - Goodcruisin

The check-in process was very painful/slow - it is clear they cater to seasonal site folks, and do not have many (if any) weekenders. 98% of the campground is seasonals - some are OK, most are very dirty, run-down, and trailer-park-ish, very few are nice. Their cancellation policy is the worst I have ever seen - basically forcing you to lose money if you need to cancel. Kids activities were OK, folks running them were rude, and you could tell they cater to seasonal folks. I would not go back. - Lspajm
Apr 2013 - $44.00
Arrived after office closed - no instructions for late arrivals but all 'visitor' sites empty (site seems to be mainly residential)so no trouble setting up. All sites have sewer connections despite some being marked 'water & electric only'. Very old shower block: cold and drafty. Showers have to be held on constantly to get water. Wi-fi might be available but password required at additional charge! $44/nt for very basic provision. There are better, smarter RV Parks in the area - better positioned for exploring Amish country. - UK RV'ers
Sep 2012 - $50.00
Spent Labor Day weekend here and had a very nice time, they are slowly fixing the place up still some rough looking seasonals that need some cleaning up and the bath house is not that large they could really use an upgrade there but things take time. They did upgrade some of their sites with upgraded electric and also sewer and also graded some other sites so in time I am sure things will improve. We will return. - DBLR

Although this campground is a bit outdated, the beautiful sites more than make up for it! It has friendly, helpful staff and is in a great location in Amish country. - Alex And Denise
Sep 2018 - $57.00
Nice location. Nice big spaceous spots. Spots are on a hillside in the woods, which is nice. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the water was temporarily run from a hose from another site, and the 50 amp didn't work. Owner's are very nice, and will go out of their way to help you, and make things right if a problem arises. The packet of area attractions they give you on arrival is amazing, and thick. This place has a lot of long term campers. The campers are very nice, just the majority of spots are long term. The downside is the campground is in need of renovation. It is clean, and has a lot of potential just needs some sprucing up. The roads have plenty of room, but be for warned this place is on the side of a hill. I had to put my truck in 4x4 to back into one spot. Owner will help spot you if needed. All in all they are making upgrades, and it is nice, and quiet family owned campground! - AndyK
Aug 2018 - $40.00
Where should I start? Amish country is beautiful and very tourist friendly. This park has zero activities so it's purely a sleep site. If you have to run A/C in your camper then nothing else can be on because my AMP reader barely read 25AMPs on the input. Must use water pressure regulator because it fluctuates severely. Great wooded area with plenty of shade. If fixed up it would be a great place to drop anchor for a vacation. Short distance from a ton of great shops. - Derrick4

Sep 2017 - $41.00
This is an old established park that seems to try to do upkeep, but not so much doing things to improve the park. It looks like they are working on new electric but not sure as they have been doing this for awhile according to another camper. There has been a talk of a pool for so long I don't know if that will happen. The maintenance crew spent most of 3 or 4 days cutting down some big trees that may have been going bad. The roads are gravel but with many work campers doing a pipeline job nearby, the roads have some mud holes and ruts where they have run across the grass. Sites are a bit tight and with the big rigs the workers have, there trucks are almost parked in the roadway, making it difficult to get by in some areas. It's a nice area to camp with lots of Amish buggies going by at nighttime, and also coming thru the park to sell their goods. - delacamper
Sep 2017 - $41.00
Small park located off Route 30 about 10 miles East from downtown Lancaster. Check in was easy, and staff very friendly. Site was pull thru, gravel, 30 amp, but Rig needed to be leveled. Water pressure was ok. Sites are close together, some shady some out in the open. We had an open site, however couldn't get satellite. Basic cable was good. Fire ring & picnic table. Small dog park, but green space to walk dogs. Roads in are gravel, enough room to maneuver, and they provide directions for best route to site. Next to an Amish farm on one side and a museum on the other, beautiful views of farmland. Quiet basic park, small playground, small store and no pool. Has mainly seasonal & full time residents, and therefore some trailers/RV need upkeep. They appear to be adding new trailers to be used as rental cabins. Good for an overnight stay. Close to Lancaster, and attractions. - KKColorado
May 2017 - $44.00
Having been to many camp grounds in Lancaster county this one needs major upgrades. Very dated and old bathrooms and overly pricey laundry facility. Sites are so so not very level. Alot of the sites I passed while walking around especially the white fema looking homes near the tent area just horid looking un landscaped, weeds, muddy and just not at all attractive to see. Farm overview is beautiful and then to walk by such a trashy ghetto looking area was very un inviting. Very disappointed to have seen that. Activities absolutely NONE!! No pool no nothing. If you're passing through and need a spot to sleep it's great other then that keep driving. Not recommended at all for a weekend getaway. - ANDO

Very clean and well maintained campground. A "no frills" KOA that suited our purpose just fine. Would certainly return...... - hiker1
Oct 2019 - $58.00
Stayed two nights while exploring Lancaster County. This is a very nice, clean campground located on the side of the valley overlooking beautiful farmland. Like most commercial campgrounds, the sites are side by side with few trees, but the sites are relatively level, well graveled and the facilities are clean. The park is central to Amish country and close enough to Hersey and other sites of interest. We enjoyed out stay there. - Buddy Ray

Great staff - worked with us on the stay. Many sites and near various shopping and sites. Quiet area and good place to rest and relax. Lots of trees. - Catastrophie

The KOA directory advises to call for directions for big rigs - highlighted bold. I called and the directions I was given took us over a bridge on which we were too long to make the corner. Unfortunately, this issue impacted my feelings about the campground. We were there for 2 weeks and spent a significant amount of time looking for the best way out. The campground itself was on a hill and the roads going in were steep but manageable. But the best routes through the campground were not clear. Our site was long and level. There was shade on our site. This was one of the more peaceful campgrounds in our travels. Note: the "bad" mark for service was because of getting the worst directions possible for getting to the campground. We did not interact with any staff after that. Big rigs who do not know the area need to be very careful. Avoid the bridge that is approx. 1/2 mile west of the campground. - lce3
Oct 2018 - $96.00
A nice peaceful park for a Halloween weekend to end our season. We enjoyed our stay. The park itself and amenities are very nice and clean. The ride to the park from route 1 is stressful. Route 82 has some low branches. The turn onto Embreeville road is tight, and Embreeville road is narrow and winding with lots of blind turns and questionable branches. I am sure glad my rig is only 12'4" tall. The bridge at the mill is doable if oncoming traffic yields properly......or at all. Personally I think the campground should contact the state about trimming the branches over the road to 14' plus. It's not an unreasonable request to help their business in a time when big (expensive) rigs are very common. Once in the campground the roads are steep, windy, narrow and off camber. Less than 8" bedrail clearance on a 5th wheel could easily result in a crunched truckbed here. It was very nice and relaxing once the trailer was dropped. Great view from the patio sites overlooking the office, activity center and pool. We would return for another quick weekend despite the access challenges. I would never recommend trying to get here in the dark though. - ferguson65
Oct 2018 - $50.00
This RV Park would be a 9 if it was sunny out and two hurricanes had not just passed thru the area. It was thriving even though it was very soggy when we were here. There were kids every where dressed up in costume for a planned trick r treat night on Saturday from 6-6:30 pm. It was fun to see so many people out and about talking with each other. The pull thru sites were really long, but not that level, so have plenty of blocks around to help your auto leveling system do its job. The front desk staff were very helpful. - Vipermanden

We stayed at White Oak for our first trip in our camper. We have a 38' travel trailer, and had no problem getting in, and out. We had a nice pull through site. It was fairly level side to side, buy was sloped pretty slightly front to back. The sites were gravel. It rained pretty good on the day of arrival, but no problems. (one advantage to the sight being sloped I guess). The sites were well shaded. Very clean campground, and restrooms. Very nice, and friendly staff. Well stocked store. Very nice pool. There is a auction house next store with a snack bar with great food. An Amish girl comes on Saturday with fresh baked goods. Close to nearby attractions. Don't hesitate to stay here, as it's very nice, and we will come back. - AndyK
Jul 2018 - $59.00
Positives about White Oak Campground: 1) Secluded location off main roadways with little traffic noise. 2) Shaded sites with many large trees. 3) Nice pool area. Negatives about White Oak Campground 1) Sites are way out of level with poorly graded approaches. We bottomed out our trailer just trying to drive into the pull through site. 2) Site utilities poorly laid out. Sewer connection was close, water spigot was at the far front of the space, electric was on the opposite side of the space. 3) Campground is cramped and crowded with lots of seasonals. We spent two nights at this campground, and it was average at best. While reasonably close to Lancaster, it is not a place we would choose to stay again. If the owners made the investment to level the sites and improve the approaches; this would be a much better place to stay. At $59 a night it is way overpriced. - Aircats

This is a nice clean campground with friendly staff. Clean pool, newly remodeled bathrooms. Great views. Plenty to do nearby, an auction house next door and a farm down the road sells produce and baked goodies. - Labomb
