This park was rated a 9.3 on RV Park reviews, and I am not sure that is a good rating. It is nice and secluded, and weather should not be a factor even though it poured and acorns were bouncing off of our RV all day and night, but there was no wifi, and their DSL internet was only good for one device per site? The park was empty on our stay because they close up on October 15th, and we were there Sept. 25th-27th It might be really thriving between Memorial day and labor day? Price seemed awfully high for off season rates? - Vipermanden

Fantastic park, especially if travelling with kids. Lots of room between sites. Rather large campground. Great general store. Also had a snack bar we did not use. Pool is large, clean, and was uncrowded when we were there. They also inflated a 30 foot high water slide and bounce house that my kids thought was great. The only problem, is at all with the park, is the seasonals right next to the river access points and they access was not clearly marked. Felt like we were tramping through someone's yard to get to the river. Everyone was very friendly. They guide you right to your site at check-in and make sure everything is to your expectations before leaving to guide the next camper. - nittanyguy

This park was packed when we were here on a weekend. Most sites are seasonal but they are for the most part neat. Our site was a pull through, plenty long and all level concrete. Roads are curvy, hilly and tight. Biggest drawback are many golf carts. Roads are too narrow for them running around along with people walking and vehicles coming and going. I can see need for them if someone is disabled, but most could benefit from the walking. Only one wifi pass per unit. Cable and other utilities work well. Lots of shade in most sites. - padre

The Shenango Rec Area is a really nice facility. They don't try to pack them in, leaving nice private spaces between the sites. They offer electric in some sites but there are no full hookups available. Trash bins are located all through the campground and all the roads are nicely paved. My only complaint: The dogs. While most dogs were well behaved and quiet, one dog, just two sites over, barked incessantly. It was making us upset to the point we were going to report the owners but we didn't. We will use this campground again. A reminder to all seniors. June 30, 2017 ends the one-time $10.00 fee for a lifetime pass to all the national parks and most federal parks. The senior pass is good for the cardholder and three others in the vehicle. Our campground site at SRA was half price! - Have Camper-Will Travel
Jul 2016 - $12.00
Friendly staff, all that one expects from the Army Corp parks! Clean site, facilities. Senior pass rate always a welcome value.
OTA and Verizon both good. Stayed two nights and was so pleased I stayed another two.
Will be sure to return yet again. First come sites are great for travelers! - Wicked Witch
Jul 2016 - $24.00
This is an old Army Corps of Engineer campground that is in need of upgrading. Of the 321 sites, only 109 have 30 amp power. There is no 50 amp electric or water at the camp sites, however you may be lucky enough to have a site close to a water hydrant that you could tie into with a "Y" or "T" adapter. There is no sewer at any site although there is a dump station with two access points.
The electric sites are situated very close together. The non-electric sites are more spacious, especially those that back up to the water. Those are lovely sites if you want to/can boondock.
If you camp at an electric site, plan on taking leveling blocks with you as many will require side to side leveling. Also you may need blocks for your rear stabilizers because some of the sites "drop off" in the back.
The restrooms/showers are very old and need major refurbishing. The restrooms were clean and serviced regularly, we didn't use the showers.
The rates vary for the campground: Electric-$24.00; Lakefront non-electric-$21.00; Other not-electric0$19.00; and Multiple Family Site-$34.00. They do accept the "Golden Access" and "America the Beautiful Access" cards which gives you a 50% discount.
All in all, it is an okay campground and we will stay there again. - dmoore1108
Sep 2017 - $37.00
We only stayed in this park for one night; we were in a pull-thru and didn't disconnect our Jeep. The gentleman in the office showed us to our site. Even though the electric had a 50 amp outlet, our motor home's meter only showed 30 amps coming through. The man had explained that that might happen, but that it really was 50 amps. Strange. It didn't matter to us that night as it was cold and we didn't need any a/c. There was nothing special about the campground; looks like there are a lot of seasonal rigs parked there. It was not convenient to I-79 so we wouldn't come again. Also, a warning for anyone pulling out onto route 358 (Hadley Road), it is a narrow, blind intersection and the traffic comes at you at 60 miles per hour. - dbcordello
Jul 2014 - $26.00
This is a very nice park; family owned for many years. Staff is very friendly and helpful. After they saw the size of our rig, they willingly changed our reserved site to a larger one and escorted us to it. Many full-time residents but all sites were very well maintained. Lots of trees and plenty of shade but no problem getting large rigs around the roads. The sites are gravel but very level. They even have a flush toilet in the outhouse in the tent area. - SandyA

Not only is the value, service, & cleanliness, excellent but the hospitality is second to none. Picture yourself selling your home and becoming a "Snowbird" at the end of Dec. only to return at the end of March, hoping to find a new home. That's what we did, but first allow me to say, we stayed in many RV Parks including "elite" resorts in Las Vegas where you couldn't connect to their WIFI or dump your holding tanks without tremendous frustration let alone, have room to extend our awnings or barely get our vehicle parked clear of the drive lanes. Honestly, I thought we were set up in the RV storage area. OK, that said, returning to our home county of Mercer PA. we find few if any campgrounds/resorts open before May 1st let alone, with sights available for a months stay. Thankfully we found "RV Village Camping Resort" where we were welcomed like old lost friends. The girls behind the desk worked to provide us with a level pull through site where we set up housekeeping in our 37 foot 5th wheel, through the middle of May if need be. Never any issues with electric, water, or sewage. Would I stay here again... you bet I would but we're hoping to move into our new home by the end of May then prepare, for our trip south, this coming winter. We would like to say THANK YOU, it was a great pleasure and honor to have met everyone. You all, are so very kind. WIFI is free for a two day trial then charges by the week, month, etc. Cost is minimal (cheap in my book) but the system worked very well. We used the system for "RV Trip Wizard" as well as various real estate sights. YouTube also streamed well. (had to watch Traveling Robert, he hee). - Griswolds on Vacation
Sep 2017 - $18.00
FHU, 50 amp, pull-through site. 17 OTA TV stations available, excellent WIFI though the park is fairly empty since we arrived after Labor Day. Many seasonal rigs here and the roads are somewhat narrow and turns are a bit tight for our rig and towed vehicle but manageable. Staff was very helpful and friendly particularly warning us about using the printed directions in our Passport America book rather than GPS. Actual rate was $17.50 for the night. Site could use some leveling since it sloped to our left. All the picnic tables appear to be brand new. We would return if in the area. - Bob & Stephanie
Aug 2017 - $26.00
This was our first stay, traveled 2 hrs, campground had a lovely country feel even had Amish come in to set up bake goods, but staff hardly saw, but those I did, I didnt care for. Store assumed we knew where everything was. Someone I assume was staff spoke rudely to me and my 2 kids for sitting on playground riding animals that we had just taken a picture on - we will not return due to her rudeness. Had to buy a floor jack 1st night to level out our trailer because site was to unlevel. Power went out twice. Activity equipment was rundown or broken, no planned activites, fishing pond dirty, pool was nice but smokers. Store was basically obsolete. They need to update the place and their staff if they want to be a resort. No Thanks...what a shame. - mother 211
Aug 2018 - $58.00
As most of the other reviewers have stated, and I agree, this is a beautiful campground. It is well maintained and every site is manicured and clean. It is easy to see that when the CG owners care, so do the people who stay, whether for one day or all season. During several long walks with the K9, I did not see one site that needed cleaning or updating. And being out in the country, the "sleepability" was excellent. It was peaceful and quiet at night. My only complaints, and they are not huge, is that there was no Wi-Fi the night we stayed, and I thought the rate was a tad high for a transient. The Wi-Fi was not a big deal for one night, but if we had stayed longer, it would have made a difference for us. No question, if in the area again, it will be Rocky Springs for us. - Love To Travel 2
Jul 2018 - $47.00
$47/ day FHU rock site with picnic table and firepit Pros Absolutely beautiful campground Sites are spacious and beyond well maintained Wildlife galore - loved watching groundhogs and chipmunks peak out of the forest Family owned and run - they really care about the campground and it shows Pool was the perfect temperature Nice camp store with last minute items/ice cream/souvenirs Clean restrooms Laundry available Cons WiFi was a pain - you have to log back in constantly Not within anyone's control but the deer flies were intense (early July) - hopalongrving
May 2018 - $45.00
This camp was a beautiful find!! The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating in every sense of the word. The cleanliness, scenic beauty, peace and serenity were tremendously comforting. Wish we lived a lot closer...we'd be there at every possible occasion! There was ample room to set up our trailer. Other units were visible, but the setting was simply idyllic & quiet, privacy was upheld beautifully. The road in to the campground is apparently part of an Amish community. We were surprised to see the horse & buggy traveling down the road. Lovely in every way. - donna mcfarland

Pymatuning state park in PA has two campgrounds - Jamestown and Linesville. There is also an Ohio state park campground on the Ohio side of the lake. Linesville is the smaller of the two PA campgrounds. Jamestown sites were good sized and not too close together. There was a lot of mud due to rain, but it looked like mud is likely a problem normally. The non-electric sites were typically the muddiest. Jamestown camp host rec Linesville 200 if going there. - kanling
Jun 2018 - $30.00
We make at least 4 weekend trips to the Jamestown Campground of Pymatuning Lake in Northwestern Pennsylvania, Route 322, Jamestown, PA 16134. It is one of, if not the largest state owned campgrounds in Pennsylvania with 330 sites. Many sites with full hookups are available and over half of the sites have electricity. We find it to be well kept, clean, and quiet. They have one entire loop for pet owners. Since we do not bring our pets, we don't have to listen to incessant barking. The beach is clean and maintained for swimming. There is also a new playground facility for the kids. We enjoy walking on the paved roads, speaking to other guests, and always a late afternoon walk to the camp store for a delicious ice cream treat before starting our evening campfire. - Have Camper-Will Travel
Jun 2017 - $28.00
Camp sites are mostly small and grass. It had rained hard the day of our arrival and many spots had several inches of standing water. - dbng
Sep 2006 - $26.00
This was our first trip in our RV. The owners greeted us upon our arrival and escorted us to our site. Staff stayed with us until we were level and hooked up to the water and electric. There was heavy rain the day we arrived to the point that there was local flooding in some areas. We were still able to walk around the grounds without too much difficulty, athough some sites were waterlogged. Bath houses could use updating. Pool was clean and clear but weather prevented us from using it. Only complaint was a camper came in and reversed parked in the pull through site next to us with their door facing ours. The camp ground could have moved them over a site or two but put them next to us. Prior to departure a honey truck service was provided to empty our tanks. Owners were very friendly and helpful. There were a large amount of seasonal sites at this campground. - dpgllg
May 2019 - $40.00
We stayed in our 30ft travel trailer for 2 nights. Hosts were very nice and helpful. The majority of the campground are seasonal/year round campsite with very few overnight spaces. The seasonal folks are very welcoming. They had a snack bar and a store, both which were fairly cheap. The snack bar had good food/ice cream. There was a pool which wasn't open but looks like it would be nice in the summer (We stayed in early May). The only reason we rated 7 instead of higher was because the daily campsites had little gravel and A LOT of mud. It did rain the day we came in, as well as the day we left. There was a giant mud pit next to the campsite, as well as the parking spot where my truck sat. There was gravel for the camper itself and around where the picnic table was. The hosts were extremely helpful with helping us navigate around the mud and into our campsite. At the time we left, it had just rained and the truck sunk in mud. We were worried we were going to get stuck on our way out but thankfully with 4-wheel drive, we were able to pull out without any issue (aside from mud along the side of our truck and on our floor mats!) We overall had a good stay, met great people, and enjoyed ourselves. Our recommendation for the owners would be to add gravel to areas you would back your camper in and the parking portions of the overnight spots. - OR248
Apr 2018 - $25.00
The campground is actually located in Clarks Mills, which is close to Sandy Lake. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The sites were spacious and well-maintained. There was a beautiful lake only a five to ten minute walk from the entrance and it is full of fish. Eagles can also be seen nesting nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - John A Guderian
Oct 2016 - $31.00
Super friendly staff/owner. The facilities were OK basic showers and restrooms.
This park has a lot of semi permanent residents who don't keep their sites the cleanest. The person who was in my site prior left pieces of lumber, flip flop and bits of trash everywhere.
Given the fact that the owner was super friendly I would stay here again. - ETCTA
Jun 2014 - $31.00
We had no problems with tight spaces, our pull through was long and wide. A very nice and friendly campground, will stay here again when in the area. - DRF
Sep 2012 - $25.00
We were caught in heavy rain, which slowed us to the point that we could not make it to our planned campground. We called Hubbard and they confirmed they had large, open, level spaces for a 40' motorhome. We arrived after dark and discovered this was a campground we had been to some 10 years earlier in our new 38' MH. We got stuck, the sites were so out of level our jacks would not level us enough to open slides and branches scratched the sides of our new MH. When I recognized the campground we left in a hurry. I wish they had been truthful about the condition of their campground. We spent the night at a nearby Flying J. - we_rv
