This was our third time staying here and just like the past 2 visits, it was great. The workers are friendly and very helpful. The other campers are always waving ans saying hello. It's very dog friendly and relaxing. The only downside is there basically no internet nor cell service, but that actually helps to make it more relaxing in our opinion. We would recommend this campground to anyone. We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful campground, the grounds and facilities are clean. The personnel are friendly and helpful. They offer golf carts for $40.00 daily, pick up after 3:00 pm and have to be returned at $11:00 am. The cost for a holiday is $55.00, we found those charges are a bit expensive. The first day we visited the pool, I was kicked in the stomach, kids jumping in everywhere, hitting us, we had 2 small grand kids and the bigger kids were not being watched by a parent, we couldn't let our little ones swim. Next day, pretty much the same thing, lots of kids and no parents watching them. Last day there, tried to take the kids swimming, the pool is full of kids, many with floats and inner tubes and no room for swimming. There wasn't supposed to be food or drink near the pool area and many adults were sitting there drinking beer, loud music and still no personnel addressing it. Kids were up as late as 11:00 running rampant at the bathroom area, no parents around and not once did we see security. The pool is far too small for the campground capacity and they are far too lax on the standards around the pool. We cut our stay short, while it's a nice campground, we just didn't enjoy our stay there and have no intentions of returning or recommending. A lot of price for a less enjoyable experience. We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our first trip to Pine Cradle Lake and it was a last minute getaway. The rate was a little more than we like to spend for camping but it was over Labor Day weekend and after calling several other campgrounds, they had the only opening, so we took it and are we glad we did! The campground was very relaxing and was very well kept. When we first checked in, they sent a nice young man to help take us to our site. Not only did he help us find our site, he helped us back in and even went and got us firewood while we set up, since the general store was closing. They had a nice pool/splash pad but we didn't use it since it was rather breezy. They had plenty of activities planned over the time we were there which was nice. Our site was a premium site which included a newly built deck and fishing dock. There was plenty of room for our dog to run (on a tie out, of course). Overall the park was inviting, relaxing and the staff was super! They even gave us a bag of doggie treats when we checked in with our dog. They do say that Cell phone reception is spotty, as is WIFI and they're honest about. Our cellphones became basically electronic paper weights and to be honest, it was great! We loved not having the electronic leashes. Lake/Pond is catch and release, which was cool. Overall had a wonderful time and we've already made plans to return! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away and relax! We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Very peaceful environment. If you live by your cellphone, you might get panicky, but the General store does have a fairly decent cell strength. You can rent a golf cart, but we enjoyed walking around the lake with our dog.

Overall Rating:

We liked the campground so much last year that we made another trip again this year (Labor Day weekend). Stayed there with my wife, girls (now 8 and 13), dog, and two cats.

So if you read my last review of this campground it provides the highlights. Beautiful location, gravel roads, sites on the 'other' side of the lake are spacious, a number of activities available, friendly staff, very clean restrooms - which are individual showers (one person in the room) which I like... The list goes on.

They made some improvements since last year that were noticeable. New ball field, volleyball court, cemented the floor of the covered pavilion, got rid of the items 'hidden' in the woods. I had mentioned power fluctuations - but I was reading between 112 and 116 volts this year at all times. Had a great time there - no complaints at all.

It would be nice to have some different activity types (maybe some arts/crafts for the kids), would love some walking trails (they may do that in the future on neighboring property), wifi, better shuffleboard course. Again - minor items. They are continuing to enhance the property yearly. I will say that some of the seasonal campers are pretty close together and older - but that is not the part we stay in.

Not sure how much is in the immediate area to do, but I suspect there are some things within a reasonable drive. We stay on site for the weekend. Bingo, washerboard, kickball, volleyball, yard sale...lots of things to keep you busy....or not. A great place to kick back and just enjoy the time there.

Would recommend - going there again next year. Site 323 is great (as last year), as well as site 220 (which was already reserved...). We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed there for the 4th of July weekend. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Someone even came down to our site with us to show us where it is and to help back in. The roads and all of the sites were gravel. My site was level where the camper was parked but right outside the door was a fairly steep hill sloping away from the camper. That made it a little tough getting in and out the camper. The gravel in the site was also pretty large, more like rocks than gravel. That was really the only negative to the campground. The grounds were well maintained, the lake was very nice. The fishing was pretty good. They had fireworks the Saturday night before fourth and they were really nice. The store was pretty well stocked. They have a cell phone booster in the store which was nice because reception there was not very good, but that's not the campgrounds fault. I prefer not to be bothered when I'm camping anyway. The other campers were also very nice, there are many seasonal campers there. The campsites were well spaced but some of the sites were tight because of the trees in them. We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend (with my wife and two girls, 7 and 12). It was our fist time here.

Beautiful grounds, large lake, activities for the whole family (played kickball, washer board, they had a yard sale, candy bingo, bingo...). Relatively level sites, our site was very large and had a stone patio. The staff was very nice and helpful. Bathrooms were surprisingly nice (nothing to look at from the outside, but nice inside - and VERY clean any time we went in). Very clean pool and nice splash zone area - plus it was actually heated (not solar - actual heat...). Residence were super friendly. Reasonable nightly rates.

Slight misses - roads were stone/dirt (very dusty when we were there), Power seemed to surge quite a bit in the evening (lights in the RV getting brighter/dimmer), poor internet (fee for internet, but poor connection where we were), Some old equipment 'hidden' in the woods - beautiful property but just some finishing items they need to take care of. Not real noticeable, but there. Shuffleboard far from the office and appeared to be in need of some attention. No TV.

Bottom line: We had a great time, we enjoyed the campground and people, and we made plans to return next year. Really liked out site - 323. View of the lake (the only one in the hills with that view I believe), near the bath house. No shade tree, but this time of year that was ok. When you consider the reasonable rates - this was an excellent place to stay. We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

We were looking for a campground where we could take our kids and dog for a nice relaxing 3 day weekend. What a great choice! The kids didn't want to leave. The splash pad was a hit. My husband appreciated the fishing. I enjoyed the peace and quiet and campfires with the family. Would highly recommend for other families. We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This looks like it was a great family campground at one time. Now there are a lot of dirty , loud ,migrant gas well workers here who paid way too much attention to my teen aged daughters, so they just stayed at our site . Also they drive way too fast and are comming and going day and night . We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We have camped there several times over the years. Unfortunately this year was a disaster! We had trouble even getting a weekend site! Apparently, they have let tons of gas workers occupy most of the sites, some all year long and most right near the children's playground? What??? There are ruts all over all the roads from their big trucks and the workers come in and out all night long. Most of the trucks are diesel and very loud. They all drive way too fast for little children that are nearby playing. It was hardly the quiet peaceful place we remember. We will not return, ever. We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The location was nice, but you were nickel and dimed to death. It was 90+ degrees and the electric did not support the 30 amp service we were promised. We could not use the AC. TERRIBLE. We had to pay for Wi-Fi service...it was so slow you could not accomplish anything before the connection timed out. The young female staff in the store was very brash at best. I was offended by their responses on more than one occasion. Theft was uncontrollable. We will not make a return trip. Owners seemed uncaring of issues...we paid our fees up front. We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We spent 2 nights here, but it was for the purpose of having a place to stay while doing some business nearby, so it wasn't really a camping trip. We did find time to take a walk around the facility, and found it to be very well kept. There are a lot of seasonal/permanent sites, and most of them are very well kept. The lake is beautiful. The roads and landscaping are well maintained. Staff was very friendly. The only downsides I can think of, are the lack of cell phone service (Verizon), the lousy road leading to the place, and they charge extra for Wi-Fi service. We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our second trip and it is beautiful, lake is catch and release fishing, nice pool,3 playground areas nice little store with hand dipped ice cream and your basic needs, they also have a Bluegrass Festival in Sept. I can't say enough about how nice this campground is . The only down fall is its a long windy road on the way in.. We camped at Pine Cradle Lake Campground in a Tent Trailer.
