Great family campground. Very nice staff. - AndyT
Jun 2019 - $28.00
Stayed 2 nights while visiting family in the Pittsburgh area in a 38' MH. Large secluded sites with water & 30 amp power. Site has sewer dump on site near restroom / shower, but this would be challenging to pull large MH up next to because it is set back from the road. Individual sites have what appears to be sewer - but they're either not sewer or not working. Nice lady work camping for CoE showed us where our campsite was. No firewood for sale - you need to scour woods for firewood - but some camping had found enough for their sites. (We didn't try.) Campsite is adjacent to nice reservoir which had people fishing, swimming and boating (both kayaks and power boats). Sites are level (gravel) and easy to access once you get to the campground. However the north Bush Road entrance is narrow and winding. Strongly recommend using the south Bush Road entrance. We noticed that both entrances show a 10 ton limit - but we took our 32,000 lb. MH in without a problem and saw other MHs there as well. - Nildecaf
Jul 2017 - $26.00
Nice place to spend a couple days. 2 pull-throughs back in the woods with water and electric (30 amp). Everything else is back-in. Pipeline construction near the park is keeping everyone away right now I guess since the place was empty on a weekend. It's right on the lake and wooded. AT&T and Verizon worked ok. Very narrow and twisty road to get to the campground. Glad I didn't meet any other large vehicles coming the opposite direction. - 5er Swede

Stayed here 2 nights passing through. 99% full time and seasonal. There are a lot of old campers here that haven't seen the road in 20 yrs. All roads are gravel and the road in is on a severe rutted hill. Also the water pressure is super low. The kid that checked is in was very nice and helpful. - Powerstroke

Keystone is a delightful state park in the western part of Pennsylvania on a nice lake. There is a public day-use area on one side of the lake with boat rentals and lots of picnic areas. On the other side of the lake there are 2 camping loops - the one along the lake is not pet-friendly, the loop a bit further from the lake is pet-friendly. In addition to spaces for campers and tents, they also rent yurts and cabins. There is also a variety of trails for hiking and biking. We were in the pet-friendly loop, really nice and quiet in the evening with lots of birds and rabbits. The bathhouse was very clean the entire week we were there, with plentiful hot water for showers. The sites are not particularly level and some are a bit shorter than the reservations claim, but we were able to get our 33 foot trailer in just fine. There had been quite a bit of rain lately and there was a lot of mud around, not anything that could be prevented. The campground seems to be a weekend getaway for people in the Pittsburgh area and was nearly full for us that weekend; but was fairly empty during the weekdays. This is a typical state park campground with lots of woods and trails. The campground host was very helpful to us in solving a wheel issue we were having and checked with us to make sure it was fixed. Really nice place and good people. - Robinette

Beautiful park. Spaces a bit tight. Convenient location. Nice lake. - Maltaman
May 2014 - $28.00
This is a quiet peaceful campground. Sites are secluded and mostly private. The campground host was pleasant and helpful. The worst part to this campground is how far away the swimming area and playground is to the campsites. There is a small store at the beach that sells ice-cream and food but it wasn't open. We would stay here again. - Grant7890

We stayed here for a couple of nights to visit Indiana and it was perfect for our purposes. The place is almost all permanents but people were friendly and it was fun watching the kids play. We had a full hook up right next to the bathhouse, which did not bother us at all. Our site opened to a nice hill with a tree and a cornfield at the top of the hill. It was nice for letting the dogs play. I did not regret not getting a creek side site, I think our view was nicer. The campground wifi worked great but our AT&T service was spotty. - janci
Aug 2016 - $16.00
Campground is mostly populated by annual visitors. However the grounds are very well maintained. Mostly grass sites with water and electric. We stayed for two days at mid week. It was very quiet with weekenders starting to arrive on Thursday. Verizon cell signal was strong. There are some shade trees but was still able to get a satellite shot. We did not use the showers, however they appeared very clean. The dump station is easy to navigate.
We would definitely stay here again. - rjohnso3a
Sep 2015 - $32.00
Nice park for an overnight stay but I would not like it for an extended stay. We were told that they did not have full hook ups - water and electric only. I did not like the lay out of the park requiring an angled back in. Many of the seasonal sites seemed to be overly crowded. We did not stay to experience the recreational amenities of the park. The owner's were enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. - Dewey Smith

We camped here while on a job that lasted a couple months. The campground is perfect if you want a scenic place to park and not a lot around you. It is located within a reasonable distance from major cities that can meet all your needs. Its just a peaceful place to park a while and enjoy nature. It is located high upon a mountain so kind of hard to pull in big rigs, but our 36' fifth wheel fit just fine. Enjoyed the stay. - 3paynes

We stayed in the lower part of the campground where they have pull through pads. Side level was 1 inch off. Front to back was off 6 inches off. All roads are gravel with clay dust so there's plenty of dust in the air. They cut the grass often. The camp is well groomed. Counter staff is friendly. If you make a reservation well in advance like we did they might move you to another spot and not ask permission. They moved us the day before we arrived without consulting us then claimed we had no particular site reserved even though I have every email sent and received showing we did. I would stay here again but I would pay for the site up front so you have a legal ground to stand on. - Chip146

This is a very large RV park located within about 30 miles of our destination in Pittsburgh. It has lots of amenities (pool, fishing lake, etc) but all we needed was a safe place to park to sleep at night. Our site was in a large field with RV's lined up as if they were attending a drive-in movie. That said, the spaces were adequate, the roads and pads were good, and the hookups were satisfactory. We were much too far away to check out the restrooms, showers, or the pool but we didn't need them anyway. We will probably stay here again when we are in Pittsburgh. - efcarter
Jun 2019 - $38.00
Made a reservation by phone while on the road with very friendly office staff. Easy and friendly check in as well. This campground is built in layers on hillside and is very large. Drive in did not scare us at all, we have seen far steeper hills at other campgrounds. We were put at the lowest part of the park which held large, level, FHU pull through sites. Cable was offered but we did not use. We had good over the air TV reception. These sites are perfect for those with satellite dishes. Wifi was relatively good as well. Our site was level gravel with grass sides between campers. Each site had a picnic table. Fire rings and more tables are available around the perimeter of the park which means no smoke coming in your windows. Bathrooms are cinder block with concrete floors, very clean. Pool was nice with two slides and a small kiddie pool with fountain as well. Office/museum is full of stuffed, hunted animals which unfortunately included a spectacular wolf. Price for FHU + cable was good. Not far from highway with several easy to navigate loops. I would definitely stay here again when driving west. - Trainspotter

Clean campground, friendly staff. Most important: beware of narrow bridge into the campground. It is plenty strong, despite wooden surface (It is really a sturdy concrete structure.) When going over bridge, DO NOT TURN WHEEL UNTIL FULLY CLEAR. Otherwise, your tail will swing and smack the rail. Just saying. - Charisma1965
Jun 2017 - $36.00
This small campground is located in a rural and beautiful area. The small lake and a trout stream that runs through the property kept the fishermen busy. Our site was a level back in right next to the stream. There was even a small waterfall right in our shady backyard. The owners are pleasant, friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Customer service was great. Grounds are very well kept and public areas are clean. Bathrooms are very outdated and are on the list of these new owners plans for improvement. In addition to the fishing spots there are open fields perfect for a kickball game, a playground, horseshoe pits, and a community building and game room. The campground is gated. - Bonnie Lee
Aug 2013 - $15.00
Overall this is a fairly nice campground. We were parked next to a stream that seemed very tame until the monsoon hit. I watched it continue to rise and eventually called the manager (not on site). She said that it would have to rain for 2-3 more days before the stream overran. It was only at one foot from the top so I have doubts about that. Rain stopped two hours later and all was well. Trees were a problem with satellite, and cell was questionable. Rate reflects Passport America. - keydet

Utilitarian is the word. Not individual showers but stalls, with no shower heads but a spigot. The nearby toilets....one was clogged with paper and another was plugged with stool with stool even on the outside of the bowl. I surmise the user was in a rush, with no time to flush or clean up! Sites of gravel which were cut into a hill and fortunately level. Most KOAs look better than this one so I will go to the one on the west on the highway. - Happy Campers Interstate

A well-named campground! It is located on a flat spot on top of a mountain. That gives it great views of the valley. Gravel back-in spots around the edge of the campground with pull-throughs in the center. Sites are gravel surrounded by grass that gets soggy and soft in the rain. The road to the campground is a little bumpy and curvey, but no problem to navigate. You can ignore the warning on their website that says Exit 14 (Bull Creek Road ) is closed. It is open. They provide a hose with a sewer connector to drain gray water down the side of the mountain and provide free honeypot service on Wednesdays. The restrooms/showers were closed for the winter so you have to use the residential bathroom in the basement of the caretaker's house. There is also a single washer and dryer in the basement. Friendly, helpful staff. Convenient location to see the sights in Pittsburgh and close to shopping. - Chuck Shrader

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 5 nights in a site for big rigs during the rainy season. We were in the back of the park and had a beautiful cliff view, but it was so not worth it! The site was a mud pit (no gravel). We were stressing over our back four tires sinking deeper and deeper. They do have a couple sites that had fresh-gravel (in the center of the park but with no view. I wouldn't recommend staying on the outside-loop if you plan on being there in rainy conditions. Do not stay in the back if it's going to rain until they re-gravel those sites. The park is flat so it looked like most of the sites were level. Our satellite worked great here. The management is very nice and the park is located in a quiet area. If you have a dog there's ample area to walk your pet. On a side note: Today we live in the age of wifi technology and there is nothing to stop this RV park from investing in doing wifi properly. For some users (such as ourselves) wifi is an important feature. - JDC10

I must say that of all the campgrounds we have stayed in over the past 5 years, Mountain Top had the best scenic views, without question. Even though we had some damp weather, sitting at the picnic table in the evenings, watching the sun set over the horizon was the highlight of the day. Now the blueprint. The CG is not convenient to the major highways, but sleeping at night with the windows open and without the constant drone of trucks on an Interstate highway was very peaceful. The local roads are not the best, a little hilly with lots of turns, and the driveway to the CG is mostly gravel, but we had no problems getting there or departing. There is no bathhouse and most of the sites do not have sewer, but there is a dump station which was not an issue getting to or using. In fact, the CG has a sewer hose attached to the dump station so all I needed was my clear sleeve to watch the flow...no fuss, no muss. It appears from signs posted at the office that a bathhouse is planned for the 2019 season, as is Wi-Fi. There are no activities or swimming pool, so the few children we saw were riding their bikes. As the CG is on the top of a flat hill, the sites with trees and shade are the ones they call the rim sites, which are around the outside perimeter, and are gravel and very level. The sites in the middle of the field have no trees or shade, but for those who need satellite reception, they will work. I must admit that the two nights we spent here on our way west were quite nice and if in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to stay here. - Love To Travel 2

Nice little campground, probably one of the nicest private campgrounds I've stayed in. Owners live on site and are constantly working making things even better. Sites available under trees or wide open. Sites are not tabletop flat but most are well within range, a few will take more effort to level. Watched a 35'-ish motorhome back in to a site just today, a few spots from me. He was in and level in five minutes. Beautiful tent sites with privacy, some with electric. Catch and release lake with paddle boat and canoe rentals. Kids' playground. Sand volleyball court. Planned events (campground hosted a nice Father's Day brunch recently.) Very well equipped camp store with attached small cafe (great milkshakes!) New game room. Heated pool. Laundry. Very well equipped live bait shack that sees a lot of local traffic for those fishing in Keystone lake (1/2 mile away). Free wifi that for the most part works pretty well, I clocked about 750K speed which is what they advertise for free). Higher speed (about 4mb) available for purchase. Cell service works but spotty. In my 50 amp rig with both ACs and the dryer running voltage is steady at 120. Regarding big rigs, I'm in a 37' fifth wheel and had no trouble with plenty of room for my truck once disconnected. I saw 40' fifth wheels and 37' motorhomes. I used to own a 38' motorhome and would have no trouble at many or even most of the sites. The sites in the open area would easily take even the largest motorhomes or trailers, the upper wooded areas are doable but tighter Definitely coming back next year. Note: following a GPS can be problematic in this area - it will get you there but might route you on some not so RV friendly roads. The campground is on highway 210 - get there from highway 422 or highway 85, do NOT take Fisher Farm Road or 1st, 2nd 3rd or 4th street or Sagamore Blvd from Rural Valley through Sagamore. Sounds complicated but it's not, just have a quick look at Google maps before you head up. - JaimeT
