We've been at Firehouse RV Campground for almost 3 weeks now and will be here for a few more months. (Working temporarily in the area). Lots could use leveling, but overall not terrible. Great water. There is a bathroom/shower house with card/keys to get in. Also laundry facility. (did not use either of these). My only complaint is the cell & internet service, but this is not the fault of the RV park. Service is lousy all over the area. Quite often, the RV park wifi is even better than our own Mifi. If you're looking for a "garden spot" to stay, this is not it. If you're looking for a manager on-duty to hang out with, this is not the place. This is an adequate RV park, run by a fireman. It is quiet. Sits behind the Fire Station, in between a cemetery and a funeral home, but you're not even aware of these things. Profits go to help the volunteer fire dept. I do not know the nightly rate. $460/month. A lot of longer term/temporary working people here. We have only heard the fire siren 3 or 4 times in the 3 weeks we've been here. Haven't heard a train whistle yet, just the high pitched squeal of the wheels off and on, but nothing that is bothersome. Within less than half a mile there is a small local grocery store, a post office, a small convenience store that sells both gas and diesel fuel. About 10 minutes to I-79 and Waynesburg, which has several restaurants and a Walmart. (Although the Walmart is well hidden and not found when looking on their web page for local Walmarts). Pittsburgh is about 50 miles north. Staying here in a 41' 5th wheel, with 2 vehicles. - Marty O
Jun 2013 - $35.00
Never again! Terrible. In the rear parking lot of a firehouse. Siren went off about once an hour all night. Nearby train whistle all day and all night. To get there, the roads were narrow and twisty. Lots of workers (linemen, oil workers, etc.) with their families. Semi-permanent. - mrpeepers
Jun 2013 - $30.00
The campground is about eight miles from I-79 through the rolling hills of PA, not a problem getting there but it is not your typical highway campground. The park is located behind and run by the local volunteer fire department and staying here helps support the fire department. Our site was near the end of the lot and slopped some. The loose gravel. slope, and recent rains made it difficult to level but we made do, as it was simply an overnight stop for us. Some sites are paved and more level, there are even some pull-thru sites. There are no facilities or activities as this is a simply an area to park your RV. Many of the sites had long-term residents who are working in the area. - Dave Hole

Jul 2015 - $30.00
This is a good place for an overnight when passing through. I called and told them we would be arriving late and the camp host cheerfully stayed up (till 9PM) when we arrived. The campground was clean, the grass was mowed and there were good gravel roads in the campground. and they gave us a pull through site as we were just passing through. Dump station on the way out. Water and 30 amp service at the site. Nice RV/camping signs were posted from the interstate that led you to the site. Maybe 2 miles from the exit. There is a small truck stop at that interstate exit also.
This is not a resort, but a nice place to stop for the night when passing through. - eb145
Jul 2012 - $30.00
We would camp here again. Wi-Fi not advertised and not available. GPS directs to one exit north of exit to use: Davistown Rd exit. The campground can be seen from Interstate. This is a good overnight campground. It is near 24 hour gas & food and easy on/off interstate. When told we were overnight and in route, we got a pull through with WE30S that did not need leveling. Connections are tight. Maybe 10 campers are long term work campers with friendly and helpful people. Staff is great. Bathhouse and laundry are aged but spotless. In 27 days of camping, this was, by far, the best shower. No restrictors, timers, temp governors. Just powerful water hot enough to peel shrimp or cold enough to chill them - as you like it. There is, literally, room for two in the showers with a shower head on either end. This campground is a campground, not trying to be a resort or squeeze another nickel with another fee. Since camp was built the highway expanded adding noise from the highway, which is in sight. From 10: - nothing. They do not claim a thing they do not do well. The park welcomes families but does not have a pool or playground so I did not mark it family friendly, though it is. - Frank Rader

Easy in easy out. Used as an overnight stopover. Staff friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again. Sites are large. - golplt

May 2015 - $20.00
Be advised that the campground will be on a first come, first served system (and might even be closed altogether) starting June 1, 2015 for much needed repairs and upgrades. $20 per night (regularly $24 per night before senior citizen discount) was for a needed-leveling (6" on our right side) gravel/grass site. We did have 50-amp electric service and there was water available a few sites away. Be warned about the almost backward turn you will have to make to access the road to the campground if you come from the park office. We unhooked our tow vehicle in the park office parking lot and, even then, after pulling all the way to the right before attempting the left turn, we still had to back up once before completing the turn. The surrounding area was mowed grass with a wooden picnic table and fire ring. There were loads of trees in the campground providing shade for most of the day. The perimeter of the campground has been left to return to nature so there were loads of trees, plants (including milkweed for the monarch butterflies and other flowering plants for other butterflies) and abundant wildlife. The night sky is very dark so the stars are brilliant when they peek through the treetops. This campground is located miles from the nearest city so come prepared with supplies. AT&T service was two bars of 4G LTE using our booster and Verizon service was one bar of 1X. We received six over-the-air TV stations and many radio stations. - DD Rolling Ranch
Oct 2010 - $18.00
Quiet and isolated. Drive in could be a problem for bigger units. Campsite is on top of a small round top hill. There was a trail that circles the campsite that was actually the boundary between the hunt-no hunt areas of the park, in other words it was the firing line. We passed a couple of hunters during our evening hike. Enjoyed our stay but we were really glad the park office had flush toilets and hot water. - buzzards27

Difficult to locate, difficult to park due to severe incline on the paved road. Sites are tiered, but laterally, so not too difficult to level. Nice playground and fenced dog park. - grandflic
May 2019 - $50.00
We stayed here for two nights and it Was the worst KOA we have stayed in. Our site was so close to our neighbor that we could not put our awning more than halfway out without touching our neighbors camper. The water spigot for every other site is placed smack in the middle on the living side of the site not on the normal utility hookup side. So you will have your hose and your neighbors running through your outdoor area. If We moved our trailer forward away from the water connection our camper door would be less than 3' from my neighbors slide out and his sewer hoses. Our neighbors sewer connection was very close to the picnic table which was the most level part of the site. There was no playground or activities for kids or other than the pool which was not open yet. The gravel pad was level enough but the grass living area was sloped downward. The roads were tight but doable in a 28' travel trailer. Office had limited hours and their appeared to only be one employee on site. - FDNavy

Nice enough sites however after making reservations 3 months in advance we were put beside a worker who woke us up each morning at 5:45 starting his work truck and throwing things in the bed. - Mgee

Oct 2017 - $40.00
We reserved in advance and told to call before arrival. Upon calling, we were told to just pick a spot because they weren't actually working today and leave the money in the drop box. Sounded simple enough, accept we reserved a spot with full hook ups and spent over 1/2 hour driving around their parking lot trying to find one...and there were probably only 10 other RVs/campers there. Someone else arrived after us and we offered to add a splitter and share our water hook up because he had trouble finding a spot as well. The next morning there was a knock on our door from the site manager asking if we could shut our water off because he needed to do something to it to share with yet another camper. Not a big deal accept that this is the most we've ever paid for a campsite that obviously needs a ton of work. We went in order to be closer to the WVU Homecoming game so we accomplished what we set out to do, but I don't think we will return. - CampSwiger
Jun 2017 - $40.00
This is an event center with a large parking lot. Hookups are around the perimeter of the parking lot. When we arrived there were no events and the lot was empty so we parked parallel and therefore had a pull thru. This worked for us as we have a large MH with a tow. All utilities worked fine. Very quite at night. Route 19/24 Chaplin Park Road is narrow and has NOT had the trees trimmed in a long time. We often drove in the middle road and the trees still rubbed on our coach. I am not talking about a few leaves but branches that can damage your coach. Until this is corrected, the access road is not suitable for tall Motorhomes. - Lama79
Oct 2016 - $40.00
Camped in a 35 foot fifth wheel in unnumbered back-in site. "Campground" is a large paved parking lot with an island of a few full utility hook-ups at rear of sites. Sites are level with lots of room for tow vehicle. About 18 good over the air TV stations; no WiFi. Parking lot is lit with high utility pole lights until very early morning. Quiet at night. There is a community center at edge of lot that was open until late evening & which has restrooms.. No laundry. Easy I 79 access. - Scottsdale RVers

This campground is great for traveling workers but not for a family stay. Very reasonable weekly and monthly rates. Campground is cut into the side of a hill and sites are narrow. Owners are nice folks. We stayed for 2 weeks because our options were limited for staying the area. - nascaron

Because of the high heat/humidity we decided against Boondocking at my SIL's home and called Pine Cove to see if we could add 2 more days to our reservation. A staff member jumped right on our call and within minutes, had someone switch out their spot so we wouldn't have to move during our 4 day stay. We back up to water/woods so it's a great view. Garbage pickup at the end of your site and walking distance to the large pool/slide area. - Bosleys Mom
Jun 2019 - $65.00
RV is at the back of the property. There is a public water park in the front creating a little crowded entrance/exit. There is a HUGE did going in that other reviews reference...saw where others had scraped. We barely made it. Gravel roads and site, back-ins only, FHU, bath house & laundry (didn't use). Seems permanent/full timers were on the left side of the park and regular sites on the right. Small park about 20-25 sites total. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Only stayed 1 night. Would have rated it higher, but someone didn't clean up after their dog in our site. Repeat offender as some wasn't that fresh. Big rig friendly - barring the entrance dip. - Corby Clan
Jun 2018 - $60.00
Had I known about the steep (say, 25 degree slope) entering the facility, then approx 80' landing to register, then another steep hill up to the gated entry, I would have not risked our 40' MH. We made it, but it scarred the bujeebers out of me. Sites were wide to back into but I would hate to think what would happen if you accidentally backed too far - 20' drop off slightly beyond rear of your campsite if you are on the right side. When you enter the facility via the steep slope driveway, there is mucho traffic (car and foot) because the huge pool is adjacent and a zoo during the summer months, especially on weekends. The owners are very nice and will help you if you have issues. They sent someone to spot me as I backed into the site. We were there only one night. The facility was clean. No longer will I trust a Good Sam rating. - Sandy Swede

This campground is new, primarily built to provide temporary housing for oil and gas workers but will take short-time travelers. Sites are short and close, many require levelers. Electricity was good, water pressure low. No cable or OTA channels. Verizon cell phones worked well. Longer term residents were friendly, tidy and quiet. We were in one of the sites on the lowest row, practically hanging over I-70. Road noise was a problem for me, even with my normally perfect sound machine. No onsite office, reservations are handled over the phone with a leasing agent. - Mom_of_Two

This is by far the worst campground there is. I have been camping many years and have never seen anything like this. The roads (ditches) to get to the sites are potholed, rutted and no RV should ever go on them. I was taken to two sites that it was totally impossible to get my 35ft Winney into, then taken to a third site that was flooded because of a water leak some where. I parked on the wrong side of the patio, as I sure could not have gotten into the other side. Then when I tried to hook into water and sewer, there was none. Was asked if I could not go one night without water and sewer. I said no and demanded a refund of my $32. Was told no refunds. I talked to the owner and she told me they would put the money back on my card. Which as of 3 1/2 weeks later they still have not. Please if you are traveling this way, STAY AWAY from this "campground".
By far one if not the worst campground in the USA. - earlhop

I am currently still staying here and will be here until November. My boyfriend and our two children ( 2 year old and 4 month old) in lot 1 we like it here and have no complaints we are actually helping fix the place up so that way the negative comments can stop! It's not that bad here honestly if it was we wouldn't still be here. The owner is an excellent person to get along with and so are the employees! I haven't had rides to get to point a to point b and they have offered anytime i needed to go somewhere! They are not rude at all like most comments say! Yes I think this is a great place to stay if you are wanting a one night stay or monthly! Lots are nice some lots wooded some concrete electric trash water sewage and cable included very nice place
Thanks. - Ashley1215

This is off Exit 11 on Interstate 70. They have a permanent section and a temporary section. The front permanent section looks easy to get into and is close to the office. The temporary section is up the hill and very cumbersome to drive to, rutted road. Let's say, I held my breath. The manager was very nice and led in front of me to show me which spots I could choose from. The temporary area is quite rustic, despite having full hookups. Lots of trees, and great shade. Sites are far from being level. The sites were so out of level, I didn't even bother putting down my stabilizers. I had trouble with my cable connection, it wouldn't work. So, the owner and someone in the next spot over helped to get it working. Let's just say, you don't want to know how they got it working. The manager knew I was traveling alone and didn't have a tow car and said if I needed anything, they would get it for me. The manager is willing to do anything to help you out. I thought that $32 was a bit pricey, but this may be average for this area, and since it was July 4th time, beggars can't be choosers. The manager told me that a shopping area was about half a mile away, but I didn't check this out. I just stayed put in my RV for three days, after holding my breath to get up the rutted road. The manager said it's ok to unhook and go in and out if needed. This is ok for an overnight, but wouldn't use if for a destination. It was pretty quiet during my stay. - DXSMac

Don't believe previous reviews - nice little campground - safe & clean.
Sadly some people who do reviews don't understand small campgrounds CAN'T have people onsite all the time. This campground only has a couple people a day (at most) coming or leaving so there just wouldn't be any logic to owners being around all the time.
It is a small campground and it is owned by a husband & wife with two kids in college. Owners also have to work during the week so Monday through Friday it is likely you will not see them. There is a drop box for your payment, bathrooms & pool were very clean. Sites were mowed and well maintained but if you are their during the week it is highly unlikely you will see the owners or be able to talk with them in person.
However, both weekends we were their the owners were working ALL day to make the place as nice as possible. We really enjoyed the place and talking with them.
If you are looking for a HUGE campground with hundreds of sites this is not it. But if you like a private setting that is clean and well maintained you will not be disappointed.
I wanted to post a nice review shortly after our visit but I have been extremely busy. So sorry for the delay giving this feedback! - toomanypins

This run down, side-of-road park does not deserve your business. The hostess, when she is around, is rude and totally unhelpful to a first-time visitor. We were returning to the East from an 8,000 mile trip with lots of RV parks under our belt when we picked this one from Woodall's. It does NOT deserve any rating at all. Skip it. - SilverOtter

We reserved a 50 Amp Electric, Sewer, water, pull through site for 9 days. There was nobody here to check us in and other clients told us, "She doesn’t come around much." We had no instructions as to what site to go to, so we searched for a 50 amp pedestal and backed in. The owner/manager finally showed up at 5:10 pm. She was the most unfriendly person I have ever come across. Didn’t bother to introduce herself, seemed annoyed we were paying by credit card, and the word surely would not even be accurate. The first night the main pedestal power went off 6 hours. I will say they replaced the 50 amp breaker in the morning. In the afternoon the power started cycling on and off again. Now fortunately we have the best TRC Power Surge Guard makes, so it didn’t fry my A/C or my TV. It did cause damage to my computer. The manager said, "Oh I'm out of town so there’s nothing I can do. Try moving to a different site." We are both in our 60s and I am disabled so this was not a nice experience. We did it, and the problem was worse. Now the power is cycling off every 2-3 minutes. I could read the display on my Surge Guard so I know the voltage amps coming in from the Pedestal. There is/was nothing wrong with my unit or my RV electrical system. The place smelled of sewer everywhere and trash had not been picked up in quite some time. It was a nightmare. We left 4 days early and the manager refuses to return our calls regarding a refund. - jimhoch
