Only 4 miles off I-78 and easy to navigate. For your first trip, disconnect your toad at the top of the hill just before the park entrance. (The roads are steep inside the park). The park is located in a very beautiful part of Pennsylvania and very convenient to the Kutztown and Allentown areas. It was very convenient to have free cable TV. This is an Encore property and part of the "Trails Collection" offering. Lots for the kids to do. Friendly staff. - Todd Fogelberg

First Impression: Too far out in the country for a stop-over CG. Many seasonal sites that look nice. CG buildings appear to be aged farm buildings (wood rot, deteriorating). Safety: No concerns. Access: Exit 40 off I-78, turned north on PA-787, immediate left onto Old Route 22. Right on Donat Rd, straight on Little Round Top Rd, to Robin Hill Rd that puts you in the CG. Old Route 22 in poor condition. Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Nice store with snacks, food items, souvenirs, RV equipment items. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations available through RVontheGO. No price discounts. Facilities: Pool and big game room ($). Small, clean laundry room. Restrooms near office need restoration. They're outdated, have mold, and need a deep cleaning. The men's room smells like an outhouse. Propane sales. Multiple playground areas. No off-leash dog run. Campground: In a flood plain (stream). Wooden buildings might not survive a storm. Moderately wooded. Interior roads are narrow, dirt/gravel and asphalt in good condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Mostly seasonal sites. Big rig challenging and long coaches might have maneuvering problems. Tent areas, no yurts but cabins are available. Sites vary from close to secluded (seasonals), sufficiently level, grass/dirt/gravel, all back-in. Pedestals at middle of site with electric 20/30/50; metered for long-term. Adequate water pressure with good taste. No sewer; "FHU" means using a bladder lying on the ground. Mine was smashed - unusable. No patios; usable picnic tables. Fire rings. Marginal satellite views (trees). Free cable TV (34 channels). Tengonet Wi-Fi but limited range. Verizon phone and 4G at 1-2 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: Some CG road traffic - minimal. Bug Report (late July): biting flies. Runners: CG roads good for running. Yoga: put your mat on the grass if so inclined. Conclusion: Score 5-Acceptable. IMO: overpriced. CG charges $4 "resort fee" per day. - StephenK

Pretty much a park for annuals, about 90%. There are a few open sites for passers through. Our site was weird to figure out; we parked the trailer on the grass with our site itself gravel. Big enough for the truck as well. Our section was up a huge hill but level on top. FHU site; water quality is good; electric good. Verizon coverage is OK and the park offers cable, which is nice. Pretty big park with a couple of playgrounds, swimming pool, activity center. Have not found a place to let the dogs loose though; there are lots of farms in the area. - Kerch Family

We got there about 7:30 on Friday the office was closed we ran into a guy cutting the grass he helped us get a spot and asked if we were good or needed anything. We didn't and got set up. We found out the Office is pretty much closed on weekends but there are so many guys running around if we needed anything we would just grab one of them. Now this Campground is a Motorcycle and RV Campground we knew that going in. That is one of the reasons we went there. Just about everyone Rides and they all have just about as much or more into there Bikes than their campers but both look good or great. It is also a work in progress the Owner and Crew are working hard and adding more Sites. On Saturday they had a free with a Donation Live Band and Eats it went from about 8 to Midnight. Once the Band stopped everything stopped it was Lights out and quiet time. Yes there were Motorcycles but not late at night as the had respect for the other Campers. When we got there we were also greeted by one of the Owners and he had asked if we had everything we need as well. Like I said they are all a great bunch. We pulled out about 1030 on Sunday. - ztoymaker
Jun 2018 - $75.00
This time we stayed here they had Lehighton Bike Night so the price went up a little but we were all good. We had a Blast the whole weekend. One of the Owners said they had 2000 people last years and this year he thinks they doubled it. It was one hell of a party. All I can say if you ride a Bike of any kind come to Riders Resort. This is our second time and there will be more in 2019. - ztoymaker

For those that are not familiar, Sunny Rest is Clothing OPTIONAL everywhere except the Pools, there nudity is a requirement. They do offer a discount for AANR members. I do not believe there are any other discounts.
There are a limited number of 'transient sites' and they are generally booked well in advance. The 'F' area is probably the best for 'Rig Rigs'. The 'C' area will fit smaller RVs and Trailers. Most of these sites have sewer hook ups, fire rings and picnic tables. The sites vary from fairly spacious to pretty tight. Our site was not in the larger camping area, but sort of sandwiched in among more permanent units. They do have rental units here, not RV's or Glamping Tent or Cabins, but rather 'Motel Rooms'. Keep in mind that while they do have camping and RV sites this is not primarily a Campground, but rather a resort with Camping. There are homes, home sites and some RV sites available to purchase. The store has some clothing and snacks, but is not a typical campground store and does not offer RV accessories.
The amenities include: Sand Volleyball court, Tennis courts, A decent size pool, a conversation pool that is heated, an indoor hot tub. There are three bars, one is poolside, one is in the restaurant and one is in the nite club. There are a host of regular activities, Dance instruction, yoga, cooking contests, costume contests, and more. They have two nature trails, one is marked 'Easy' and the other 'Hard'. They are maybe a mile or so long through open woods. Everyone here is pretty friendly same as any other CG. - blues traveler

Roads to sites potholed and bumpy. Very few level sites. Very wooded, which we liked. Poor wifi. - Dennison
Jul 2018 - $55.00
Their wifi or cable didn't work the entire stay. The site was uneven but usable after some adjustment to the TT. Had to raise the wheels and lower the jack as far as it would go. The bathroom is constructed of plywood and 2x4's with no paint or other aesthetics. On the plus side you are as close to Jim Thorpe as you can get - just make a right turn out of the driveway. - Voyager XII
Aug 2016 - $60.00
First off I want to say that the staff at this campground are great. Very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately that's where the positive review ends. We were there this past week for several days to enjoy activities in Jim Thorpe. We rented (and were assigned) cabin #4. It was hands-down the filthiest cabin we have rented in over 20 years of camping. It was dark, dank, and simply uninviting. The ceiling fan was so dirty that we dared not turn it on to keep the dirt from being flung all over the place. The pools were even worse. The adult pool was murky and the children's pool was dirty. It was very obvious that the man in charge of maintaining the campground (owners son) was overwhelmed and not able to keep up with maintaining this facility. Quiet hours were not enforced during our entire stay. We had the misfortune of being 2 cabins away from a bunch of drunks who could care less about their surroundings and partied every night till 2 AM. This campground has potential but they need to hire more people in order to make it happen. Please keep in mind I'm basing my review on cabin #4 (as well as the cabin next to it, those folks weren't happy either) and have no opinion on the RV or tent areas. - elopez412

Beautiful wooded campground in a county park along a lake. No hookups - primarily tent sites and rustic cabins. Anything bigger than a pop-up wouldn't fit due to most sites being heavily wooded and rocky. If you don't mind roughing it this is a great place to go for fishing, lake swimming, and boating. Highly recommend it! The quaint shops and cafes of Jim Thorpe are only 5 minutes down the mountain. - Jeannette

Nice park very friendly staff. They helped back in the RV and offered any help if needed. Sites were large and level. There was a pool but not open yet. Would go again. - bldhnd617
May 2018 - $45.00
Large percentage of seasonal campers but very quiet and well kept. Campground is terraced and roads are all maintained gravel. Our campsite was open, grass and dirt, level with 30 + 50 amp service, fire pit, and a picnic table. There were trees throughout the campground but the site we chose was open to satellite service. They escort you to your campsite. This is being developed as a destination campground. So far, they have a pool, playground, full size basketball court, soccer field, etc. - don-marg
Apr 2018 - $47.00
This is a small park mostly filled with seasonals. There was a pool but, due to the lingering cold weather, I don't believe it was open yet. It was quiet, well-kept and all the staff that I spoke to were very nice and helpful. There were two washers and 3 dryers in the coin-operated laundry. Our first site required that we level with the front tires on blocks so we requested, and were granted, a change in site on the second morning. The internal roads are easy to navigate, but I would suggest big rigs bypass the first sign at Germans Rd (if you are coming west on 895), go to Lauchnor Rd and backtrack a bit. Germans Rd is very rough and there is a weight limit of 10 tons on part of it. Lauchnor Rd was in much better shape. Shopping and restaurants are not really convenient. - CnCOntheGo

Very clean well taken care of campground it is very beautiful and clean, lawns is mowed weekly, entire staff is very friendly and always helpful store and food area (their cheese fries are to die for.) I highly recommend this campground to anyone I know amazing peaceful place to spend a weekend. Beautiful swimming pool, bikes/ walking trails around campground property, campground events, great neighbors beautiful area to spend a long relaxing weekend with your family. - Jason Holden
Jul 2018 - $43.00
We have stayed here a couple times over the years. They are a little unique in that the 'transient' sites are mostly Buddy Sites. Not bad if you are traveling with friends and Family, but it could be an issue if your neighbor is not to your liking (or you theirs!) We had more than ample space for our 40' A and my brother's B. While we usually leave the park each day and tour the area, this time we never left. It was quiet and the weather was just about perfect. One other 'oddity' is that the pool is OVER THERE meaning it is a hike from any site in the park. It's nice, just not near anyone. This is neither good nor bad, just different. We will definitely return here in the future. One more oddity, we don't get any OTA channels here, but right next to us my brother had about 15 channels! Weird that! - blues traveler

A gem of a park. Quiet. Clean. Gorgeous views. Many seasonals so there are activities, a mini cafe and store. Sites aren't too level so bring extra levelers - but it's worth it. - mac2school

Odd set up in a little valley. Pull thru sites are on the flat valley floor, no sewer, and they are all set up to face the neighbors. Owner called them 'jack and jill'. This is great if you are camping with friends but awkward otherwise. Our Saturday night was quite unusual. The opposing camper decided to bring about 30 people for dinner. The noise was incredible. The owners did swing by after we complained and they told the owner they would break it up in about a half hour. An hour later they did finally dwindle down to about ten. Will not go again due to the set up. The owner was nice and I had a very nice talk. - Leggy

After Labor day the camping sites you are put in is classified as " off season " campground. Their are NO moderns restrooms facilities at this location, no showers, only a vault type toilet, that is unheated and not maintained in a clean status. We stayed in a TT on 9/13/2019. - Cdr Bob
Sep 2019 - $33.00
Reserve your site online and avoid having to stop at the office. (They will charge you a $6.50 service charge even if you register and pay at the office). Limited parking for big rigs at office. Campground entrance is temporarily 600' beyond regular entrance while new visitor center is being constructed. The 6+ mile drive off I-80 is a bit of a "whiteknuckler". Do not attempt at night. Lots of hiking (43+miles of trails), 10 miles to bike trailhead in White Haven. Some sites surround 2 huge open areas of grass (my preference). Wooded sites available too, as this is a huge park. - Todd Fogelberg
May 2019 - $44.00
The campground is about 2 mi past the park office on the right - I stayed in site 12, which is a huge pull-through next to the bathhouse, which is clean and new. While it rained most of my trip, it'd be a sunny, busy site in the summertime, and I'd recommend one further from the baths. The tiny red gravel sand they use gets everywhere... and many sites are very close. Very good Verizon reception here. Also many birds. - minapie

This place was a little tricky to find but, glad we did! It's all wooded with a small lake and just a few amenities, good old fashioned camping. This place is not for big rigs but, the sites are decent size, bath house was reasonably clean and close to all sites and had lots of showers. It's quiet, away from traffic, maybe a best kept secret! - 88camper
Jul 2008 - $28.00
This is the worst campground I've ever been to in my life. Website shows nice pictures of the playground, pool , and gameroom. Those pictures had to be a couple years old. Gameroom is closed and full of junk. Pool was a nice shade of green. Playground was not taken care of and missing different pieces. The bathrooms weren't cleaned except dumping the garbage and the showers were pathetic. Two of the seven shower stalls worked; however, they were filthy and no hot water. Sites were a decent size but not taken care of. Broken picnic tables throughout campground including ours and exposed steel thru-out coming out of the ground from falling apart retaining walls. This is a real hazard to children. I would not go back here if it was free. For $28 I expect more. Its worth about 5 bucks. And lake in picture is only a pond , roads throughout were terrible. - Jim Carp
