Very friendly and helpful. Sites were long and level. Nice walking trails. Large fenced in area for dogs. - pollypoo
Aug 2019 - $46.00
Stayed because it was right off the highway easy on/off. I didn’t want to make coffee hoping the camp store would offer some but 9:00am and they weren’t open yet. Friendly owners, clean and easy. - Lori and Steve

Very nice commercial campground. Many seasonal campers, most of their rigs were in good shape. Sites fairly close together. We had a level, gravel site with semi-shade. Owners are extremely nice and friendly. He had carefully leveled our site and escorted us to it. Lots of families. Facilities included a pond for catch and release, playground, dog run, store. Close to I-80, but no sound issues to speak of. The park was carefully tended. We stayed one night and it was a fine place to stay. - Nomadsinlove

The camp sites were a bit close, but there were trees between you. I was a little surprised at the full hook ups we saw did not allow pets. Great back country roads to ride your bikes on. - Bosleys Mom

We stayed at site 31. Our initial route in was pretty sketchy. We left via Route 504 to Route 322 West to Route 80 West. Much easier and less narrow and bendy. AS others have said the turn into the campground from Casanova Road is a hairy turn. Once in the campground is easy to navigate. We waited for about 30 minutes as 2 trailers filled their fresh water holding tanks. There are water spigots all over the campground. Our site was very level and easy to back into. The downside is that we were right beside the bathhouse. There is a path between sites 30 and 31 for lower campsites to have access / shortcut to the bathhouse. It gave our dogs entertainment to bark at strangers. The bathhouses were older but very clean. All of our hookups were quite easy to use. Water pressure was very good. Never a problem with electricity. We had a full service site, so emptying our grey and black tanks were no problem. If you have an electricity site only there may be a wait in line when leaving. The waste site is right by the bathhouse. Doggie poop bag dispensers were readily available. They need to put waste baskets on the pole with the bag dispenser. You are not allowed to throw the "full Bags" in the bathhouse waste containers. We hiked every trail in the Park. The highlight was the Blueberry Trail. Blueberries were ripe and we picked a bunch! Make sure you have waterproof hiking boots if on the trails. The Moss-Hanne Trail in particular is very "boggie". The beach is clean but odd looking with the black water. The concession stand was excellent. Overall we had a great time and will be back next year. - Steverino

Our site took us hours to level our rv. We tried every conceivable angle, leveling board configuration and trick in the book! The loop had no restrictions on where you could walk your dogs, but had about 6 sites that didn't allow pets which were located across from pet allowed sites. What is the point? Because we unknowingly came 1st day of trout season, ALL sites that had electric and allowed dogs were filled. Those that said "no pets" were unoccupied. Would have loved to have been able to move to a more level site, but we travel with dogs. Those are the only complaints. We had limited cell sevice (Verizon), no internet. Nice family and outdoor recreation park. Friendly fellow campers. Many of the sites have a paved "patio". Ours (and others) was located on the utilities/connection side of our rv and not on the awning side. So I think the pad is there for a tent. We could not park our rv or tow car on the pad. - WMRamblers

This is a very, very nice state park campground. It was clean, it was quiet, and it was well maintained. The actual site area where you park is asphalt and they are a bit narrow, but they are quite level. There is electric at the site and there are water spigots throughout the park. If you need to fill your fresh water tank prior to setting-up, you must do it at the dump station area, where they have two really good potable water spigots (yes, there are signs differentiating between the potable and non-potable water supplies). The spigots in the campground are not to be used for filling tanks, just for filling a jug or bucket. We were there to see the Elk in rut, so it was only 19 miles to Benezette, where the visitor center is located. I would definitely stay here again if in the area. - Love To Travel 2
Aug 2018 - $33.00
Beautiful, remote location in the Moshannon State Forest. Wonderful hiking trails of all lengths and levels. Small lake for fishing and swimming but too small for long kayak rides. Great day-use facilities. We lucked into the best site in the park #89 which was shady, almost level and quite spacious. Other campsites not so much. We are in a 21' Class B so size is not an issue but we could see that bigger rigs would be quite cramped. No cell service (Verizon) so had to hike up the road about a mile each day to connect to the outside world. We just worked that into our daily hikes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. - Debbie Collison
Aug 2018 - $38.00
Definitely a campground where it is smart to check out the site you want before you commit. Camp loop roads and sites are asphalt, and most sites are fairly level, though some will require more effort. Size and spaciousness of sites varies quite a bit. Some are in full sun and some have good sun-shade mix. There are a handful of full hook-up sites; the rest are electric only. Grounds are very well kept. Verizon service extremely slow and over-the-air TV antenna only picked up PBS. - aowcarol

This is an old park. not fancy, but in this area this is the best value . It has electric, water and sewer and a lovely view. The local state parks do not offer the water & sewage, for almost the same cost. Its quiet, and the family that owns it are very helpful. - lynette47
Jul 2010 - $27.00
This is an old campground. After backing into my assigned site for an overnight, I checked the power. Volt meter read 8 volts. Discussed this with the owner and her comment was "I never saw anyone use one of those before". Was assigned a 2nd site and power at the outlet was 8 volts. Told owner I could not stay without power. Her comment was "I don't understand, we never had a power problem before". She was not happy, but did give me a refund. I would not stay here again. - dmoore1108

Electric hookups shared between 2 sites but located where very difficult for one site to reach if at all. Bath/toilet very poor condition and full of mildew. Toilets wobbled on the floor. All sites on grass but had covered picnic tables. No trash pickup or dumpster. - Cbakerm
Jun 2014 - $32.00
Big grassy sites few shade trees. Limited 50 amp sites. Pick a site and pay at the store in town. Nothing fancy here but it is nice, quiet, and peaceful. We also enjoyed eating at the store cafe and talking to the locals. We were in town to see the elk and while we did not see them in the campground, we saw them up in the elk viewing areas way up on the hill. We enjoyed our stay and will be back in the fall. - houseonwheels
Oct 2009 - $27.00
This campground in in the middle of nowhere. There is no cell service or TV station. This is a get away from it all. We came here to view the wild elk that roam the roads and town streets. The site are pretty level and really big with really big fire rings. There were a lot of big motor homes here. There is water available to fill up your camper when arriving and a dump station when leaving. There is not a lot for the kids to do but mine said they would come back again. I enjoyed it here because of the views and you really are away from everything. It's great for family time. We had a 6x6 bull elk walk with in 10 feet of our camper one night. I cant wait to go back next year. - dmshultz

The good: Large spacious lots in the new pull-through area... if "too large" is possible, these qualify. VERY clean restrooms. Nice pool & rec areas. Access to Treasure Lake amenities. Generally quiet. Sites were level and have water, power, fire ring, and table. I understand that this is a recent KOA addition and is being upgraded to meet KOA standards. Clean-out service was available for about $50. Needs work: The garbage receptacles were emptied at about 2am on our 1st evening. That activity, although relatively short lived, was as noisy as a construction zone in the middle of the day. There was no shade at the campsite (12xx). The comfort stations require a bit of a hike. The campground layout is not designed to minimize walking. The dump station is located right in the middle of the access road; very odd. No functional cell or WiFi service available.. If you need that, you will have to travel. I am not really familiar with KOAs but their pricing seems a little steep for less than a full service campground. Would I consider visiting again? Yes, but would actively look at other options in the area. - Silent Dog
Jun 2019 - $45.00
Be sure you have fuel because the drive out to this campground is long if you are low as we were! We were placed in a very new section and it was absolutely not pretty-- no trees, gravel (very rough chunky gravel), muddy ravines in between campsites, bathhouse near us was out of commission. Acceptable laundry room Got to play Bingo with a bunch of resident or seasonal rv-ers. But we were definitely the "strangers" in the room. Way far from the promised lake. - ginger2you

Nice big park with scattered trees for shade. No sewer sights or sewer service but has dump station. Good dish and wifi. - geo cong
