We recently purchased our first motor home and wanted to try it out close to home. This campground sets the bar for what a campground should be. Private and spacious sites tucked in amongst the trees in PEI’s beautiful countryside. We had a pull through site with 3-way 30 amp hookup and the WiFi worked perfectly. We walked one of the shorter trails with our dog and it was lovely. Absolutely loved it here and can’t wait to go back. Great communication with Gwen and she was very helpful and accommodating. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

Very nice CG, nicely occupied even during off season. Our site was fairly level, and gravel upgrade to the site was welcome as this kept us out of the red PEI dirt after rains. Grassy open meadow with playground, nice trails. Central location to all PEI sights. Good Verizon signal near office and laundry/lodge areas. CG owners very accommodating; we left one day early due to Hurricane Dorian & although there is a "no refund for early departure" policy, they willingly refunded us the 1 day fee due to the circumstances. Definitely recommend this CG! NOTE: do not trust GPS directions! We found PE-13 to PE-224 to New Glasgow Rd was the best way in from the Confederation Bridge. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Be warned, many attractions shut down after Labor Day but still plenty to see and do. Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables author, is buried in the Cavendish cemetary (forr some reason not mentioned by Visitor Info staff. Dining options: recommend Richard's Fresh Seafood, PEI Preserve Co.; New Glasgow Lobster Suppers is touristy, plenty of food, but don't expect fine dining.

Nice little park. Roads are a little tight but managed just fine. Nice wooded private sites. We were in 26 and it was long enough for our 35' class A and parking for our car. Nice fire pit location and picnic table. Park is very convenient to Cavendish and all area attractions. Only 3 channels OTA. Didn't try DISH due to all the trees. Cell service was OK and the free WIFI was good for web browsing. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

This is a small RV park with very nice sites. Our sites were very private with trees on three sides. Full hook up worked well. As is the case for most RV parks the wifi was very slow or non existent. Too many people on the wifi. Roads are small but in good condition. The roads are narrow but our friends navigated around this park in a 44' motorhome without issue and there is a very large 5th wheel next to us and he had very little trouble getting into his site. Very nice park that I would have rated higher if the wifi was better. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The New Glasgow Lobster dinner is a must. Don't let the price scare you. It's one lobster but all you can eat mussels, chowder, soup, salad, dessert, and soft drink. Excellent food. Park is convenient to Cavendish and Summerside and all the attractions in the area.

Beautiful, wooded campground. Road in is downhill and narrow. It might be difficult for anyone with a huge trailer. Since ours wasn't we didn't have a problem. The woman at the office was helpful, pleasant. If in the area, we would definitely stay here again. A seafood market is about a 10 minute drive - excellent lobsters. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent campground - our favorite of the 18 we stayed at this summer. Staff very helpful, easy access to everything. Only site I saw that wasn't in comparison to the others in the campground was site #18a, and unfortunately our travel companions were in it. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely go to Prince Edward Island Preserve Company to eat - delicious food! And try & buy some of their jellies, salsas, etc - yum! Visit Anne of Green Gables site, Avonlea Village, and if possible go see the brother - sister act "The Ross Family" for ceilidh music and dancing (they perform at Clinton Hills, which isn't too far from the campground).

We stayed two nights at this campground- we had a 3-way site near the road which was quite busy during the day but quiet at night. There is a mixture of RV, tent sites and cabins. The pool is salt water and very clean. The owner is very nice and they obviously take great care of the area. Min entrance is closed at ten but you can you the second one which leads to the office. The store is open until Labour Day. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

Contacted the park upon entering PEI which confirmed they had room for us. The owner was waiting (in his vehicle) at the entrance for us then guided us to our site, allowing us to set up and relax before registering. They were awesome, giving us some ideas and directions. Washrooms were extremely clean, as were the grounds. Just an awesome place to stay, making us feel right at home. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is Canadian and is at the off season rate. Sites were large with clean crushed blue rock and level. In between the sites was a strip of trees and undergrowth that worked well as a screen. Hookups were in a cluster near the center of the driver's side. Plenty of room to back in (we had no problem with our 39' motorhome at 10 o'clock at night). Water pressure and voltage (50A service) was adequate. Wi-Fi was on the poor side even taking in to consideration that it was a campground network. At times, like any other campground network, it was OK but overall after being there more than a week there were too many times that it was sl..ow. Our Verizon data and voice worked well though at times the data was a bit slow. We were able to get DirecTV (SD only) with our detached dish out at the edge of the road but I think our site and maybe a couple of others nearby out of the entire park would be the only ones to get it. The interior road system is good and the entire campground is meticulously kept up. The owners and their love of their campground make this park outstanding. They are always around (working) and readily answer any questions about what to see or do and are full of suggestions. The location is great; 10 minutes to Cavendish, 20 minutes to Charlottetown and in what we thought was the prettiest part of PEI. An example of how helpful the owners are: The wait to catch the ferry over to PEI was so long that we did not get across until after sunset so had to drive to the campground in the dark. We kept in contact with the owners by phone and Ken waited for us at 10 o'clock at night in his pickup at the end of his driveway. He had us go past their place to a business that had a large paved parking lot for us to unhook our tow, which he asked if we need any help. When we were ready he had us follow him into the campground with him making wide turns wherever we needed to make a wide turn with our motorhome. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

There are 2 farmers markets in Charlottetown. One by the university on Saturdays and Wednesdays and one downtown on Queen St. on Sunday. The one downtown was much cheaper for fresh produce.

We had a beautiful shaded level site. The campground is in a convenient setting for seeing all parts of the island. The owners are delightful and helpful. We could not have had a nicer stay (we were there for one week).
There are only three TV stations by antenna, and Wi-Fi was iffy, patience required. Unfortunately our hot spot didn't work in Canada. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely campground. There are only 15-20 sites (the rest are neat little cabins) but it is attractively landscaped and immaculately maintained. This place is absolutely nothing like those 'parking lot' style of campground that we hate! The sites are tidy and of good quality and size. There are a few pull throughs, the rest back-in, and all but a couple offer full services. The wifi is excellent here. The bathrooms are some of the nicest seen anywhere. The sites are generally roomy and very private, set into wooded areas and so also shady. There is an open field and small playground for the children and a short, woodland walk which is perfect for dog walkers. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Fifth Wheel.
