The park is a bit dated in terms of the washrooms but the sites are a very good size and you also get full use of the pool/sauna/hot tub/gym over at the resort. We played pickelball and tennis and there is also beach volleyball courts. There are biking/walking trails nearby. The full service sites are a unique design, a triangle with each trailer facing out and all services in the middle. They are all drive thru's. The resort is also home to a great golf course. The staff were friendly and will deliver wood and ice to your site. We camped at Mill River Resort (formerly Mill River Provincial Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great biking trails nearby. We also checked out a great microbrewery not far away (Moth Lane Brewery).

This is a very nice park. There is wifi and it works very well. Our 2 way site was on grass and it was beautiful. We really enjoyed this park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very quiet! Road to our site was small and narrow but the couple we are traveling with have a 44' motorhome and they moved around without issue. It would be helpful if the office staff either led you to your site or updated their park map but this is not a big issue. We would stay here again. We camped at Mill River Resort (formerly Mill River Provincial Park) in a Motorhome.

We were assigned a FHU site with services located in the middle of 3 campsites - we each had 120 degrees of the circle around the facilities. Not a problem, just a different layout.

Check in staff were pleasant.

Wifi at this, the first of 3 PEI prov. parks we stayed at, was EXCELLENT. We camped at Mill River Resort (formerly Mill River Provincial Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is in the centre of the west end of PEI.

Just a drive around the coast is worth it.

"A narrow, dirt road through the park gave adequate access for our 37' MH to our incredibly large, reasonably level, grassy site (#32) complete with picnic table and fire ring. Although we didn't really have significant shade, a couple of large trees were a nice touch. There were only a few other campers in the park, so the very large grassy expanse surrounded by tall evergreen trees felt a bit like our own private park. :)
Our friendly ""neighbors"" were nearby on the next site due to shared posts for the water and electric hookups which we both used, but we were parked with our doors facing away from each other so it did not feel overly close. There was no sewer hookup on site.
We didn't use the available toilet and shower facilities. There were no WiFi nor laundry facilities available.
Overall, the park seemed a decent value at this price for the amentities offered." We camped at Mill River Resort (formerly Mill River Provincial Park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The sites are big, as mentioned. We were in site 50, plenty big for a big rig. Having never been to a park with this kind of set up, we were a little (ok, a lot) confused as to how to park. They are set in a triangle with each site being a pull through. The sites were level, and grassy. It was what I expected a provincial park to be like. We would stay here again, as long as we didn't need Wi-Fi. We camped at Mill River Resort (formerly Mill River Provincial Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Mill River Provincial Park Total 36 sites unserviced and 2 way and 36 sites 3 way. Site 33. This complex has interpretive programs and evening activities in the summer but after Labor Day is only open for another few weeks as are most PEI parks. Opening and closing dates change every year so one needs to check with the visitor centers or online. We stayed in the 2 way section and since this was Labor Day everyone else left. There were about 10 campers in the three way sections which are set up in the woods in pods. The pods were shaped like triangles with three campsites in each pod. Very unique how it is laid out. The unserviced sites and 2 way sites are in the woods and field. Sites are big! There is a water park and fun park here as well as an 18 hole golf course. Volleyball courts, swimming, canoe/kayaking, marina, racket and tennis courts (extra fees for much of this). Every Provincial Park has a laundromat, pay phone, kitchen shelters, playground and restrooms with showers. This is the only PP in PEI with a campground that is not on the shore even though the river is close. It is the biggest PP in western PEI. This park is right off route 2 which travels through most of PEI in the center of the island. We camped at Mill River Resort (formerly Mill River Provincial Park) in a Motorhome.
