The campsites with electricity are wooded and private. Hiking trails throughout the park, splendid views, beaches. A wonderful destination to spend a week or more. My only criticism - the sewer dump station is too far away from the campground to tow a portable container. Ideally there should be a portable container dump location in each campground. We camped at Des-Rosiers Campground (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Gaspe peninsula is worth at least two weeks. Eat seafood, immerse yourself in the fabulous scenery, take a boat trip to Ile Bonaventure. Don't be afraid if you don't speak French. People are accommodating.

Rate is in Canadian dollars, and includes the $11 reservation fee when booking online. The camping fee itself is less. At check-in, pay an additional per-day, per-person park entry fee (credit cards accepted) and receive receipts to display (no entry fee if you have a Parks Canada annual pass). Well worth it - this is a fine upgrade beyond your average public campground, with spacious sites separated by thick foliage. Ours had a large adjoining grassy space with a high-quality picnic table and fire box where we were visited by a porcupine who strolled past on his way to climb a tree. A short path leads to a lovely beach with dramatic mountain scenery. The visitor center has firewood for sale. The Park seems to be working at many improvements including adding more sites with electricity. We camped at Des-Rosiers Campground (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I recommend booking ahead online, especially for holiday periods. The park is quite scenic with numerous hiking trails, although the "beginner" level was a bit more strenuous than expected to the chute (waterfall) and lighthouse with plenty of hills to climb. We encountered a black bear cub while hiking near the lighthouse.

A lovely national park. We stayed in loop C for the electricity access. Is you come here, be sure to load up on water - co-located with the dump/recycling/trash area. We were able to walk to the beach to enjoy morning coffee. Nice neighbors - a mix of Canadians and a few Americans. As mentioned, nice privacy. (We arrived with a critically ill cat, so we're traveling into Gaspe daily for four days - rough road surfaces.). Some restaurants avail if you travel outside the park. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Des-Rosiers Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice national park with 3 different campgrounds. We were in the Des-Rosiers park c/w electricity. The park is very private as the undergrowth is so thick it even separates the camping and table areas. The $ 36 fee does not include the entrance fee per person which adds over $ 15 for a couple. National Park camping is expensive! We camped at Des-Rosiers Campground (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.
