Sep 2015 - $27.00
Good CG for an overnight, several options for entering. This is essentially a house owner who took extra land and made an rv park. Electricity is so-so. There is a new owner and the name has changed to Eagles(town has also changed to Walterboro) and the rate has gone up to $30. The office is not clearly marked, walked up to house(run down) and "office" not open. No notes as to what to do.
The host walked up and gave us a site. No one was expecting us, they had messed up our reservation by a day, luckily there was space.
OK for an overnight but no longer. - Wandering
Dec 2012 - $15.00
This is a wonderful park, but if you require restrooms, laundry, swimming pool, etc. it is not the park for you, as there are none. The park is clean and spots are clean underfoot. There is nothing extra but the spots. The Wi-Fi here is good, a little slow, but stable and adequate. Management is a wonderfully nice woman and really goes out of her way to be helpful. There is plenty of shade. Road noise could be a problem if you are close to the highway. Further back from the highway, the noise is mitigated well by the trees and structures. Voltage was only slightly low, but never became a problem. In the two weeks we were there, only one morning was low voltage a problem. That was the only day the park was full, and in the morning, voltage dipped a little. But the rest of the time we were there we had no problems with low voltage. We would definitely stay at this park again. Price reflects a daily rate for our two week stay. - John&Sandy

The other reviewer (July 2012) wrote an accurate review of this campground. It's only 3 miles The other reviewer (July 2012) wrote an accurate review of this campground. It's only 3 miles from I95 exit 68. It's easy in and easy out. It is well maintained and a great spot to get off the road for a night or two. The price is fantastic. We've stayed at New Green Acres 10 miles south on I95 and it was double the price and not near as nice. The comment about the lady owner being very nice and helpful was right on the money. An older gentleman who was working on a tractor when we got here got me parked and was very friendly. I suspect most travelers don't know about this place, try it you'll like it - floridaguy

we were passing thru the area, the owner was very friendly, escorted us to a site that fit our needs, helped hook things up. Free firewood. Sites are level and small, but met our needs. We would happily stay there again. - JoAnn53
Nov 2016 - $27.00
Just an overnight stay. Easy in and out. Electric and water was good.
Approx, 4 - 5 miles off I-95. Lots of permanent campers, but all was quite in the evening. - JJ & CC

Sep 2018 - $21.00
This state park has about 25 sites that are dirt & sand. Most of the sites are not very level, but we had site 16, which is better, and were able to keep our truck & TT hooked up for overnight. Only 30 amp service is available & no sewer. The restrooms have been updated & were super clean & usable. Campground road is paved but narrow & challenging to navigate. The WIFI did not work for us. There are stairs down to a nice view of the river, but beware of alligators. If you book on-line, you must book 2 nights. If you call in, they will book a one night reservation for you. We appreciated that, and would stay again. - R&S
Apr 2018 - $23.00
This state park is easily accessed from I95. If your GPS has updated maps it will take you to the front gate with no surprises. There are several gas stations at the exit with pumps parallel to the store which is very convenient for refueling a large class A. This state park is very small, just one loop makes up the whole park. Sites are a mixed bag when it comes to being level. The best sites in terms of being level are #3 and #16. Our site #15 had a downward slope but by using all our leveling blocks we were able to get our rig level enough so we didn't fall out of bed and the refrigerator would work without an issue. On arriving there is no orientation, no map given, nothing. You are on your own and hopefully you have your site number already in hand. Moving into the park there are no overhanging trees but the trees on the sides of the road are close meaning you have to go slow and be very careful. The roads in the park are all paved but very narrow. The sites in the park are all hard-packed dirt with 30-amp service and water. There is ample shade at each site. TV reception of local channels is excellent. The showers were clean and during the week there was ample hot water in the afternoon. There are a number of stores, fast food restaurants, and grocery stores with 30 minutes of the park. The one and only attraction in the area that we found was the Colleton Museum and Farmer's Market and the Tuskegee Airman Memorial. We would return if we could get one of the two sites I mentioned earlier. We stayed in a 36 foot motor home. - William T
Mar 2018 - $24.00
Stopped here for just one night. Normally the park requites a 2 night minimum stay but got lucky and they had one space available for one night. If this is the case you must contact the park directly. The ranger is only in the office for a short period of time but if you leave a message they will get back with you. The ranger will probably not be in the office when you arrive but the camp host will check you in. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. The restrooms were old but clean. Site was level and clean. Sites along Hwy 15 had road noise (could see the hwy) . Some sites have a view of the river. Wasn't there long enough to check out the rest of the park. - PeaceMobile

This campground is good for only a night or two. The lot sizes and roads are small. There is a pool you can use. It is located in back of the hotel. It is a come first only. - Stacie C
Apr 2016 - $17.00
We saw this campground in Passport America so we pulled in and this place should not be listed in Passport America. High grass, electrical hookups were knocked over, sites could not be more than 30' back-in and mud if you get off the pavement. Please don't waste your time. - sportscoach 1
Oct 2013 - $27.00
We drove by and decided not to stay here. It is close in and fuel and food handy. As said in a previous report, it looks 'seedy'. The RV park is behind the motel and down in a low area prone to standing water. The road through is narrow, the sites narrow and all back-ins. Vehicle parking could be a problem for your tow/toad. Virtually next door to Flying J and other services as well as right off the Interstate could make this an OK overnight. - Lew

Oct 2018 - $36.00
Very nice RV park with lots of grass, ponds, wildlife, etc. Sites are level, FHU-50 amp, some are pull-thru and some back-in. Many sites are on gravel, some are on cement. No wifi or cable but good antenna TV reception. Some areas have trees, others are in the sunshine. Nice views. Very quiet! Looks as if they have some long-time people but all rigs are nice and the sites are well maintained. Internal roads are good. Owners are very nice. Office closes between 12 & 2, so arrive outside of that time for check-in. Definitely would stay here again. - DrM Traveler
Jul 2018 - $36.00
Arrived after the office was closed. They left a map and a cone in the site for us. It turned out to be a gravel area beside the laundry room with 50 amp electric and water, no sewer. There was no discount for having no sewer. Payment was by cash in a drop box because we left before the office opened. The campground is a few miles off the highway, not as convenient as others. Quiet. Lots of areas to walk the dogs. We didn't use the facilities. No cable and no satellite reception. - DebDon
Jun 2018 - $30.00
Wonderful, clean and quiet. Sites are wide, and the lady that greeted us when we arrived was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this place. - novastorm

Dec 2018 - $32.00
I have stayed at this park several times and have enjoyed it both times. It is very neat, easy to access from the highway and the sites are level and plentiful. My dogs enjoyed the dog park although it was a bit haggard. Desk people were always pleasant and accommodating!! - Tara1970
Nov 2018 - $54.00
Stayed one night on our way to Florida. Did not use any of the "amenities". Good: large pull through shaded site. Convenient to I95. Bad: utilities in need of serious upgrade, power pedestal had no circuit breakers, pedestal felt like it was ready to fall off the post, checked other nearby sites, all the same! Did not use water or sewer. Would not stay here again. - GED
Oct 2018 - $30.00
Great place to camp. A little noisy from I-95 but we knew that before we decide to stay so that wasn't a problem. Campsites were long and easy to get into. Park was very easy to get around in. We really liked the Doggy Park and so did our dog. We did not use the facilities since we had full hook-ups. We had originally booked to stay two weeks but because of some personal issues we were only able to stay one week but the host were very understanding and friendly. We will be back. The area had a lot of things to do. One week is not enough time so we will plan another trip next year. - dakota ev

Nov 2018 - $25.00
This small secluded State Park campground offer basic accommodations, without frills. The roads are sandy, and during rain as while we were there can get quite puddly. They had recently trimmed some brush so it was relatively easy to maneuver in my TT. The sites had sparse vegetation between them, but you were very aware of other campers and campsites. The campsites themselves were decent, although unlevel. Our site (#17) had an infestation of fire ants all around the fire ring, and poison ivy is ubiquitous in the brush in the park. The picnic table was also in rough shape. The hosts promptly cleaned up and blew each campsite after guests left. There's not much to do in the park itself, and the visitors center is only open two hours a day, where firewood can be purchased. There is negligible cell/data service. There is wifi available at the Visitors Center. - Milesdowntheroad
May 2018 - $25.00
This is a small campground with only 25 sites. The sites are fairly close but have vegetation separating the sites. Most of the sites are fairly unlevel, some (#12 and #14 especially) are uneven and difficult to locate a RV on. These same two sites are difficult to back into also. The roads and sites are sand. It is about 30 miles from Charleston, but the drive in is on a beautiful, tree-lined road. Several plantations such as Middleton and Drake are on the road into Charleston. The park borders the Edisto River and has a canoe launch. - winnie1
May 2017 - $28.00
Get away from it all at this well-kept state park: no satellite TV; no OTA; skimpy Verizon cell service; WiFi almost nonexistent. The few RV sites are back-in and may require leveling. The river bluff trail is an easy 1.5 mile hike overlooking the Edisto River. - Mtmoi

Sep 2012 - $23.00
We found this park in the Passport America Directory, and it is no more than a field in the backwoods. The grass and weeds are 8-10 inches high. Upon our arrival we were met by the owner's wife in a car and the owner on his ATV with two loose dogs running beside them. It was late in the day and too far back to the freeway to leave. Two sad rundown RV's were in the middle of the field with pitbulls running loose. We will NEVER return. - Arizona Traveler
Nov 2010 - $20.00
Did not honor Passport America rate. We camped in RV site and set up our tent. Intended to pay full PA rate but on checking out, we were charged $20, we complained and were told that they do not allow tent campers. Why did they take our money, why didn't they say anything before checkout time? I suggest avoiding this rundown campground. - Steve_M
Jun 2010 - $26.00
We spent three days here only because it was conveniently located next to Francis Beidler Forest, an Audubon sanctuary and well worth a visit, but many a camper will simply turn around and leave upon first viewing this campground-with zero "curb appeal" as it is simply a treeless/shadeless open field with twelve pull through sites. We were the only guests other than two men who lived there. In a nutshell, the place reeks of neglect; grass does not appear to have been mowed in months, possibly years. True, they offer full hook ups, but no restrooms. We had to remove ticks from ourselves and our dogs after walking the premises. There is NOTHING to do in park itself, and this is worth no more than an overnight stay while in transit to some place else. Owners need to visit a few other RV parks to have a point of reference for how a campground CAN look! - GLCDP
