The front desk ladies were extremely nice along with the gentleman that escorted me to the site. Met another gentleman on a golf cart, he stopped and talked, also very nice - P Ardis
Sep 2018 - $45.00
We arrived after several days of rain and had to walk in water to get around site. I was not impressed! Nearby Freightliner recommended this park while attending their Camp Freightliner and shuttle service was provided to their training facility. Driving around the KOA we saw their premium sites at the rear of the park and if we return that is where we will stay, they are very nice sites. - SunnyTravelers

This a large, quiet RV park located not far from I-85. Check in was easy with an escort to our site. Interior roads are in good condition. Nearly all of the sites are FHU. The older section has smaller back-in sites under well trimmed pine trees. There is a newer section with open, gravel, pull-through sites. Then there is the deluxe area with very long and wide paved pull-through sites with a patio and table and chairs. There is a large fenced dog park and lots of open green space and trails for walking and running a large dog. Bathrooms and showers were clean and modern. - JoyceM

New park opened Larbor Day. Nice layout, sites are rock that is still settling, so not as level as they will be later after things stabilize. This was a one night stop for us, so we didn't use any facilities. A nice park that will improve with age. They were able to leave a lot of trees as they laid out the sites, grass will grow, the lake will fill. - Dadhanke

Stayed here for three nights. Used Passport America discount for the first night and received 10% off the next two nights. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. He showed us to our site and helped us get lined up with hook-ups. Lots of full-time sites or workers in the area. - Lorie Lee Spark2skip
Jun 2018 - $17.00
Stayed here enroute to a destination. This was very accessible to I 85. Our host met us and guided us to our spacious site. While there appear to be many more permanent residents, there were no mobile homes. This retained the look of an RV Park. The sites were maintained. The park was quiet at night. Very good stop. - TailsAwagging

Staff very friendly and helpful. WiFi only available at office and close proximity. No cell service. Sewer only available at select sites. Gravel roads need work. Permanent campers need to clean up around their sites. - Rickman
Apr 2016 - $17.00
The proprietors are super nice and extremely helpful. We were given a pull-thru, which was great, but up by the office there is clutter and things aren't as tidy as they should be - overturned trash cans, boxes, etc. I think camping in the back would be better for scenery, as it is a scenic place, but those are back-ins. For one night, the pull thru was great, but if you want to spend a few days, go towards the back. Also, they have their own unbundled firewood and they are very generous with it. That one fact made up for everything else. There is a nice pool, too. It was easy to get to, with excellent roads. - Autigerinnc70
Mar 2016 - $17.00
We stayed for 4 days, and the staff was very friendly. They gave us a great site. It's a good location, and nice & quiet. Some of the sites didn't look like they were open yet, but it was early in the season. There were a number of seasonal renters. Some of their campsites were neat and clean. Others not so much. We would definitely stay here again! - Bruce R

We stayed for 3 weeks and loved it even though we had to move sites a couple of times to work around other previous reservations. We stayed on both sides - the lake campground and the office campground. The lake side is beautiful but the sites are smaller and not as level. Site 48 was great on that side - long, level, and spacious (but not next to the water.) The roads on this side are tight and steep in spots. On the office side, the roads are easier to maneuver and the sites are all spacious and pretty level. We attended a horse show on Saturday morning which was fun. We saw lots of people renting boats and using the lake for boating and fishing. The campground is 3 miles from the front gate, and cell signal is almost non-existent in the park. We had no T-Mobile signal and only 1-2mb download signal with our Verizon booster. The park rangers and campground hosts were all very nice and helpful. We would go back here! - mmhopper
Jan 2017 - $25.00
Stayed in office loop. Most sites level, in office loop, tho close. Host. Feb to November they have big horse shows the 3rd weekend of month therefore very busy. Lake is nice. Watch out for horse poop piles. Loop was tight w 35' fifth wheel but manageable. - Grady1
May 2016 - $26.00
Large state park with wooded campground, playground, horse rings and stables and many trials for biking, walking, etc. There is even a shooting range in the state park if that interests you. No sewer at the sites, but a dump station near the entrance. The campground is several miles from the main park entrance. Sites are good size with a fire pit and picnic table. The lake loop has numerous sites with views of the lake. There is no swimming in the lake, but kayaks and canoes to rent. - Kelsey Ledare

We had our brand new 5th Wheel delivered to this park and set up while we waited for our truck to be outfitted for us to hauls our 5th Wheel. The staff at this park began getting phone calls from me planning and coordinating this process a month before arrival and they treated me like a Queen. Every single one of them were knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and reliable. From planning to execution everything went off without a hitch. The park is clean and well maintained. It is a small campground at the City Reservoir. We will always stay here when we return to visit friends in the area. - SuzieMcCann

Fee is for E/W and includes $2.00 transaction fee. Gravel road through park and gravel/dirt sites might make this park a bit dicey in periods of heavy rain. Many sites require a fair amount of leveling, so try to pick your site before paying. Lots of good shade. Good over-the-air TV signals. Verizon OK but on the slow side. Restroom dated but clean. This is a nice park if you are looking for rustic, secluded, and reasonably priced. - aowcarol
Jun 2017 - $17.00
Roads into campground is in desperate need of repaving. Broken up pavement, dips and holes into the campground. Campground itself needs repair. Roads inside the campground needs to be paved. Too many rocks, high dust, tree roots, holes are in the road leading to your campsite. Most campsites are very clean, but many are not level. Only two out of 100+ sites have been updated in the past 8 years that we have been going. Quiet times are respected by most campers, but many are drinking alcohol and are loud after 11pm. There is a Ranger present during the night and patrols the campground, but some of these campers that are drunk are very disrespectful. The bathhouses are ok, and is maintained by campground hosts. Some bathhouses do not have any soap for your hands. Showers need a good cleaning. Stalls for bathrooms are clean and maintained well. Very nice looking playground, but never used it. Several covered picnic areas that are really nice. Overall it is a good place to go for a quick getaway, but we have never stayed there for more then 3 days. - Prowler on the loose
Nov 2016 - $17.00
After the wild fires in North Carolina forced our plans for Thanksgiving to be cancelled, we decided to visit Kings Mountain State Park for the holiday weekend. We were pleased with both the park and the campground. We had a pull through site at the north end of the campground. When checking in, the attendant said they were nearly full with reservations. However, the weather and fire ban must have kept many of the camper away. We gratefully accepted the smaller crowds. The site was what one would expect from a state park. There was a fire pit and picnic table. The site faced the woods and had water and electric at the site. The bathhouse was a short walk from our site. It was older, but generally clean throughout the weekend. There was no heat in the bathhouse, which made for cool evenings, but there was hot water for showers. The campground was older but in good shape. The trails and activities in the park were wonderful. We enjoyed the playgrounds, lakes, and hiking trails. The camp store had essentials and was convenient. The proximity to Kings Mountain National Battlefield was truly a plus and made our stay educational, as well as enjoyable. I would like to return in the late spring of summer. - dmaerz

I required a refund and left after had to have law enforcement deal with owner who cursed my 74 year old mother and threatened her because she asked about wi fi (which they don't offer). Rate is not as advertised, and park is trashy; I've seen more gravel on a dirt track. All back in sites if you can find your place. They gave me directions 4 times and I drove for three hours to go 1 mile from where I started. Been camping and RVing for 50 years and worst place I have ever seen and worst people (owner) I ever dealt with. Stay away. - Jvf
Sep 2017 - $40.00
We stayed here for one night in 40' motor home. Person at the desk had no people skills at all. No one helps you find your spot or helps you back in (all lots are back in ) and you need help as spots are small. At $40.00 a night this place is terrible. It is not worth $15.00 a night. - RV Frank
Nov 2016 - $40.00
Sites are small-no fire rings-website says $25/night,but when you get there the sign says 25/night mon-thur-its 40 on weekends-the only thing going for them is the drive in theater. - Reteze

What a wonderful, hospitable family that owns this campground! They are super friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable, which we appreciated very much. For example, even though it had recently stopped raining, they offered to turn on the inflatable jump pad for our kids. This is a tidy campground with attention to detail. The bathrooms were immaculate, as clean as any we've seen all over the country. I caught several bass on their one acre catch-and-release pond and the kids enjoyed feeding the ducks. We had full LTE cell service (AT&T) and the wi-fi was good. We stayed one night in site #31, a pull-thru with full hook ups. If you need to camp in the Spartanburg area, do yourself a favor and come stay with these kind folks. - texasAUtiger
Sep 2018 - $41.00
The campground is several miles from the major highway and is quiet. It is a nice campground but a bit dated. Restrooms were spotless and beautiful. Pull through were a bit tight for the 39' 5th wheel. When we arrived the owner (wife) told us that they lived on site and could be contacted if there were any problems. My wife purchased 2 T-shirts. The following morning she discovered that the T-shirts did not fit. The office was closed so we called the campsite number (7:45 AM). No one responded and we found out that the office did not open until 10:00. We walked to the owner's home and a camp worker told us just go to the house. Owner opened the door and asked why we were on his property. Gave him the shirts and told him just to refund the money to our account. A little while later as were leaving, he drove up and was irate that we had come to his home and gave me the $20. In all the places we have visited, I have never been treated so rudely. - Bill Healy
Sep 2018 - $40.00
Very quiet campground about 4 miles from the interstate. We had a level pull-through site. Our internets, both Verizon and T-Mobile, were spotty. There is a small, maybe 50' hill with a 8-10% grade when you leave. We were able to get a signal on our Direct TV satellite dish, and there are many OTA channels available. We would stay here again. - Liz I.

This was a needed stop to get off the road due to bad storms. It appears this used to be a KOA some time ago. Most of the sites had permanet campers on them. Some appeared to have been on site for some time. The pool appeared to be in good shape and clean. There was one site left and it only had water and electric. The 50amps supplied plenty of power to utilize both a/c's. The site was long enough for our 34 ft. motorhome and toad. - cedarcreek36rlts
Mar 2018 - $45.00
very well kept full laundry mat open 24 hours , covered picnic shelter, excercise room olympic pool, level sites Women and mens bath houses with restrooms they also sell propane. the staff is very friendly and helpful alot of people are full timers and some are construction workers here temporarly. the campground is very quiet but neighbors are friendly. Shopping is very close like Walmart or Target other Grocery stores are nearby too as well as conveint stores. There are several mobile RV techs available who can service your RV,also several Rv stores near by. - brucegalbraith
Apr 2017 - $36.00
This is an older campground with many long term campers and and apparently deserted units. It appears to be under new ownership or new management and they seem to be making some improvements. The bathrooms need upgrading, the roads are in poor condition with potholes and ruts as well as tree roots. It is quite a ways from the interstate so there is no traffic noise. Pets appear to be allowed to run loose (despite requirement for leashing) as we found numerous areas of animal droppings in our site. The single staff person we saw was very helpful even moving us to a site other than the one assigned when we made our reservation as he was uncertain if we would be able to reach the sewer hookup at the back of the site. We will probably not return except in an emergency. - grandma0942
