We paid the Good Sam rate of $45 plus 15% in taxes per night, our 4 night stay was $207. We had a nice gravel pull thru site with a concrete patio and picnic table. The sites in our row did drop off at the front end of the site down to the road. But it caused no problems. Great location for visiting Savannah and the surrounding area. Very good WiFi and cable lineup. We will add this place to our stopping points. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Our lakeside site offered great, relaxing evenings by the water to enjoy gorgeous sunsets and an occasional passing (swimming) alligator. Wi-Fi was strong, as was the Verizon signal. There was a good selection of channel choices on the provided cable connection. Concrete pads and picnic tables and full hook-ups were all in excellent shape. Some shade in the afternoon and evening was provide by mature trees along the waterline. Restrooms were clean and functional and the park was well maintained. The pool looked modern and clean but we did not try it out. There is access to the hiking and biking trail that leads to the Lake Jasper State Park, a great place for a picnic or just a walk around the lake. The park is close to Savannah and Hilton Head Island, and just off Interstate 95 for a very convenient stop over. There is no traffic noise, just an occasional train passing in the far distance. Walk or ride the trail over to Lake Jasper State Park. It is about a three mile round trip on an easy, flat surface, and provides a large variety of natural plants, especially beautiful water lilies. Alligators can be spotted swimming by on occasion, and lots of turtles and a few umping fish. There is a nice picnic area at the park right beside a peaceful lily pond. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice park with easy access to Savannah and Hilton Head and the Low Country. Paved roads, unpaved sites with concrete patios. Nice restroom, shower house, wished for more time to try the pool; lake alongside as well as a dog park. Our site was a back-in 50 amp with FHU’s on hard-packed sandy dirt with an oversized patio, picnic table & fire ring. Gated campground for better security, nice staff - super clean all around. Our only complaint was the lack of cell coverage for our phones & hotspot. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very well kept park. Services are awesome. Close to Savanna and Hilton Head. Nearby state park in walking distance for hiking and biking. Lots of spacious pull through sites. Security gate. Full time maintenance person on site. Nice little Dog park. Pond.
The only thing they might do better is a few more store items. But Walmart is only a few miles away. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for an overnight. An easy find from I-95. I was initially a bit nervous about this campground, because of some of the negative comments, but this was mostly a great campground. Easy check-in. We had a clean site, which was gravel and with a concrete pad, picnic table, and a fire ring. We were on a lake, which was nice. This was the type of campground where you would want to take a walk and sit outside in your chairs for a bit, even though you are just passing through. One possible downside-I did peek into the bathroom and it wasn't as clean as I would have expected (now, it was late in the afternoon, and maybe had been cleaned in the morning. Also, there was a cleaning bucket actually standing in one of the showers). Besides this-we really liked this campground and would definitely come back. I could see staying here as a base camp while exploring the area. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We felt the park was overpriced by at least $10-$15 per night. The sites are dirt. Our site (#18) ran downhill. Our class A front tires should have been in the air to be level. The cable didn't work. I called the office but they closed at 5:00. Their voicemail said to leave a message if you needed anything. I asked them to call me. They never did. When we left the next morning we looked for the dumpster but never found it. The roads to the park are narrow if someone is passing you but are manageable. We were disappointed given the price we paid. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Quite park except for the occasional train. Agree with the last two reviews. WiFi depends on where you are in the park, ours worked OK. All sites have a concrete patio, the back-in sites have gravel while the pull-thus dirt. I think the price is a little high for what you get. Not many trees. Nice pool. Cable has a lot of channels. Site spacing is OK. Sewer connections are toward the front with the electrical in the back. Required sewer extension. No threads on sewer connection and 6 inches above the ground making dumping difficult. Would stay again. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I agree with previous comments. Clean park, friendly staff, roads easy to navigate, good cable TV. There aren't a whole lot of trees, so not a lot of shade. Nice dog park and lots of doggy doody bags and disposal cans around the park. Concrete patios, gravel sites. The sites are close, but not uncomfortably so. The camp store is nice (even has wine) and they have coupons for $5 off the Old Town Trolley in Savannah. The only negative I have is that the wi-fi is pretty much non-existent. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Old Town Trolley is hop on, hop off, and a great way to tour Savannah. One Hot Mamas in Hilton Head is a great BBQ place - fall off the bone ribs!

I prefer State Parks over private campgrounds but all state parks were booked (too close to St. Patricks Day in Savannah). This park was a pleasant surprise. ALMOST as good as a State park. Clean, well laid out, not a bad camping site in the park and very friendly staff. Best feature is that the camp backs up to a lake and is connected to a County park with 2 more lakes and lots of hiking and fishing. Only reason I didn't rate it a 10 was the sites are close, not a parking lot, but not a state park either. But that's to be expected in a private campground that pays property taxes - you have to pack em in. Another nice thing - no long term residents or tradesmen that I could see. It seemed to be about 1/2 people pulling off I95 for the night and 1/2 people staying longer to play golf on Hilton Head, visit Savannah or just fish and relax for a few days. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

About 20 minutes easy drive to Savannah for great sightseeing and seafood - make sure to eat at Mrs. Wilkes Dining room but get there at 10am for a noon seating (yes the wait is that long and it's worth it.) Also, if you drive to Hunting Island, eat at the Shrimp Shack between Beauford and Hunting Island. And look for Dempsy Farms on that road as well - u-pick strawberries in season.

Nice clean park with gated entry from 5 pm to 8 am. Most streets are paved. There are 2 streets through the center of the pull thru sites that are gravel. Pool looked nice & clean. Bathrooms are clean. Very nice laundry room with 1 washer & 1 dryer designated for pet laundry only. Would be nice if more laundry rooms were set up like this. Sites are gravel & have a concrete patio. Each site has an old truck rim for a fire ring. Utilities were conveniently placed & worked well. Cable tv had 73 channels. Local OTA channels were available in HD with the roof antenna set at 230 degrees. There is a hiking trail out of the park toward Lake Jasper. The park is far enough off I-95 that we heard no road noise at all. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. Rate includes taxes less a 10% Good Sam discount. Very clean and gated park, easy to get around in. Clean laundry room, $1.75 a load. Pool looked clean but was closed for the winter. Souvenirs for sale at the check in office. This campground is about 2 miles off I-95, although the road easily navigated. When taking your left off SC-278, go straight rather than the slightly shorter right. Our site was a new one on gravel with some grass but also some muddy areas; as opposed to the older sites which do not appear to have the mud problem. Despite its proximity to I-95, we did not hear any traffic noises. This campground has great potential. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This nice park is conveniently located about thirty minutes to either downtown Savannah or Hilton Head Island making it a very nice base while visiting the area. We booked over six months ahead and were given a pull-thru site # at the time of booking and were assured there would not be a problem for a month stay. Upon arrival, however, they said NO WAY - a month-long stay would only and always be in a back-in site. They helped us back our monster fifth wheel into our site - no problem and thank you. Just get your stories straight, please! The people who work at the park are super nice. They even hosted a complimentary FULL Thanksgiving dinner for those staying at the park. The park is off the beaten path for a quiet and private stay. They have a nice dog park and beautiful pool, although it was too cold to swim. Will definitely return!!
