We stayed 3 nites over Memorial Weekend @ the standard rate of $51.54 & one nite with a Passport America rate of $25.76 both were a site with water & 30 amp electric. First assigned site M2 power was unable to run one air conditioner. Second site assigned M1 was slightly better but but barely provided enough amperage to run one AC. Due to the holiday, there were no other sites available. The roads are a bit rough but better than many parks we've stayed at. Did not use the pool but it looked inviting. They have a large covered pavilion, hammocks, free wi-fi, ponds for fishing, minimal shade. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here before and weren't very happy, but it's not terrible for an overnighter. Nothing much has changed. The sites are level. The people are nice. There's a nice pool and a fish pond (catch & release - no license required) with a park bench and several picnic tables so you can watch the ducks, frogs and turtles. BUT...the roads are narrow and not maintained, and there are huge potholes that fill up with muddy water when it rains. We noticed there is a new campground further down Rt. 17, so we'll probably go there the next time we're staying in the area. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

All gravel roads, they use a large gravel which makes a rough surface, easy access to get in and around park. Sites are typically close. Bathrooms were clean but from the early 1980's. At least half the sites were seasonal and looked it. Pool was probably the smallest I have ever seen. Wifi was terrible. About 10 miles from downtown. Quiet except for the occasional loud train. Probably not going back. Good wifi is really a standard anymore. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Circle K convenience store about 2 miles away close to the " hidden" Walmart that has the lowest fuel prices. I paid $2.71 for diesel. The Walmart is well obscured by a forest and not easy to find.

Pretty small park; they put us in a fairly small site with W/E only since we were using PA. The electric is good and the water quality good too. There is no dog park and not much of a place to walk the dogs. The sites have gravel and a little grass. Very nice picnic table. WiFi is OK; no cable. They also have a few tent sites with W/E. There is a nice playground and an open pavilion with corn hole to play. There is no recreation center, but they have a pool but it's still too cold to swim. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Close to Charleston, SC. Went to visit the H.L. Hunley and a few other places in downtown Charleston. City is getting very crowded and tough to drive around in a big SUV. Parking was very expensive.

Slight mix up with site number, but it was straightened out quickly. Office lady was helpful and friendly. Site M#1 was great as plenty of room and privacy on passenger side. Easy gravel roads to navigate withblots of signage. DISH had good reception. Didn't use park WIFI. Our Verizon Hotspot and phones had full reception. Quiet at night except for the trains. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

There are 2 gravel driveways at the Lake Aire sign on Hwy. 162. The drive to the right of the sign is the entrance. The drive to the left of the sign is the exit. The park streets are also gravel & have a couple of large low spots with standing water. Staff was scraping roads during our visit, so maybe they will fill the low areas. There appear to be many permanent & seasonal campers in the park. There is no road noise, but you can hear a train at night. There is no cable tv, but we were able to get 21 channels with the roof antenna pointed to 75 degrees. Don't know how well WiFi worked in other areas of the park, but on site m-2 (water & electric only) it was totally unusable. Laundry room was very nice & clean & had 2 sizes of washing machines. Bathrooms were very clean. Pool also appeared to be nice. The park has a very large covered pavilion with horseshoe pits & cornhole boards next to it. There are 2 nice playground areas for kids. Rate reflects Passport America discount(W&E only site) + $5.00 per night electric charge. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 5 nights. Easy access from highway. Site was fairly level with not too much levelling required. The location is beautiful & the park very well run. There's a lake with lots of ducks. Plenty of trees & all this adds to the peace & tranquility of the park. The only downside was, due to lots of heavy rain, the site had a lot of standing water but not an issue for us. The WiFi was a little hit & miss at times. The pool was lovely & clean. The park had a cook out & fireworks for 4th July celebrations. We would definitely return to this park which is now one of our favourites. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is Passport America (the best discount of all our options) average without tax, but be aware that a 12% lodging tax will be added for short stays. This is a really cute park, with a lake (catch and release, no license needed) and lots of trees. There are several activities scattered about, horseshoes and hammocks - very nice. The ladies room was clean, but hubby says the men's room was always muddy and he didn't shower there. That's the fault of the other campers, but perhaps the men's room needs cleaning more than once a day. The pool was nice, but filled with children all the time (even when school should have been in session?!?) so if that bothers you, keep it in mind. We never use the pools, so it's not that big a deal for us. We appreciated the site we were given, big enough to accommodate our 45' 5th wheel and Freightliner truck. There's also an overflow area that was right behind the row we were in, so we were covered regardless. This park is reasonably priced for the Charleston area, and it's easy to get around because it's right off of US 17. We would definitely stay here again, and since we didn't get to see much this time I'm sure we'll be back. Roads in the park were set up nicely, but because of extra vehicles in the row in front of us and an inconveniently-placed power pole, we chose to back out of our site. Shorter rigs shouldn't have any problem at all navigating. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The office gives you a sheet with all the local stuff listed, including Walmart. A neighbor recommended Angel Oak, so we stopped there for lunch. It's different, but the food was reasonable and good. They comped my soup because I didn't like it - you don't see that very often any more.

This was an amazingly clean, well kept, friendly park. I would have given it a 10 out of 10 if the internet had been better. Was pretty good the first couple of days we were there, but as more people came and the weekend approached it became impossible to get on. With nearly every person having a phone, iPad or computer this is understandable but frustrating. Can't say enough about how well kept and immaculate the park is. Corn hole play area, horse shoe area, huge pavilion available and beautiful separate tent area. Staff were all so nice. We did not have reservations so no sewer on site was available. Great dump area and easy to get to. Excellent park!!! We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground has poor drainage when it rains. All the sites had water in them after a day of rain. Facilities were nice, and the laundry mat worked well. About a 1/2 hour drive to most attractions. Close to plantations. Long gravel driveway was rough. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Tent Trailer.

It had rained before we arrived so there was standing water at our site. Sites are gravel and grass so it left mud when it dried out. Sites are really close. Train track is close and train runs through out the night. This park is a good place to stay if you are spending time in Charleston and not just hanging around the park. Staff was friendly and the pool was nice though we didn't use it. Good value. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Gravel roads. Sites with grass areas, table and fire ring. Sites are close, but had plenty of room to put out slides & awning, but would be concerned with open fires with awnings. Sites are level and easy in/out. No issues with trees. We stayed in Site D3. It was a bit muddy because of the rain, and see that some of these sites have more gravel then others. Mostly big rig pull thru with FHU. N0 cable, but was able to get local channels/network stations. No game room or club house. Nice small swimming pool, fishing pond, playground, laundry and picnic pavilion. No scheduled activities. Staff friendly and helpful. We camped here for 5 days using PPA discount @ $19/night for "basic" site, which includes 30 amp & water. Add $5.oo for ALL sites with electric. Add $3.00 to upgrade to 50 amp. Add $3.00 for sewer hookup Add the SC Sale & Accommodation Tax of 11.5%. Total per night = $35.84 Did not use Wi-fi. Good cell coverage with AT&T. Park seems very quite and well maintained. We stayed for 5 nights in a 40' 5th wheel. We chose this park because of it's proximity to Charleston and would stay here again. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

One night stay while traveling to Florida. Very nice lady when I booked the reservation and at check in. Gravel roads are somewhat rough but easy to maneuver 39' fifth wheel. Had site D-2 which was a very easy pull through. Sites are very close together. Electric, water, and sewer all good. A lot of seasonal and full timers. Overall camp looked rather old and run down but was still acceptable. Would stay here again while passing through but would not plan on an extended stay. Neighbors fire ring was within 7 or 8 feet of the left rear corner of my camper. Wasn't to crazy about that. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Staying here for two weeks (early Nov) hoping the weather down south cools off. The site I have is the 30 amp "cheapie" w/o the sewer waste. Will use honey wagon or dump when I leave. Water pressure seems to be a little lacking but it could be my part of the park. Wet when it rains but gravel on site to take care of the issue. Seems like they distribute it after a rain. Nice Park. Nice guests. Long terms are separated up the hill. VERY NICE pond and if the pictures in the office are true- large bass in it with "catch and release." Have not checked out the facilities with the exception of the laundry room which seems adequate. Sites are very nicely marked. Very nice about holding packages for you from UPS, USPS,,... Adequate space between sites and room for vehicles. Little bit of seasonal stuff falling off trees onto vehicle. Seems like most motorhomes are slotted in an area to themselves. Do not think they have a monthly rate, as I asked. Also, by the dump site the water is clearly marked "non potable" I do not know if that applies to the park as I use bottled water. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

I was stationed here in the mid 70's and Angel Oak (a VERY old oak tree) was just sitting out in the woods. Now Charleston has made a park of it and it is just wonderful to visit- it is within 15 minutes from here- wear bright clothes so your selfie stands out. Handout from the park is very helpful with maps and stuff. If the office is closed when you arrive check the front door clips and find your handout with your lot number. Dollar General, gasoline, Burger King are pretty close.

This was great park that was off the main roads but close to everything. Gravel roads that were a little narrow but easily navigated. There's a roomy laundry room and bathroom / showers were very clean and nice. A small pool is available and the lakes were very peaceful. Saw some long term residents, but they were very friendly and sites were well kept. Water, power, and sewer were all good. This is a quiet park and train noise was really not intrusive, barely noticeable outside. We come to Charleston often and this will be our new campground . There is a Great Seafood restaurant, Gilligan's, down the road about 5 minutes. Don't miss the Angel Oak and the Charleston Tea Plantation. The only Tea Plantation in America. Also the City market and Carriage tours in Downtown Charleston. Patriots Point with the USS Yorktown is only 15 minutes away and has a ferry to Fort Sumter.
