The staff was amazing and the grounds were well kept. Every morning we saw groundskeeper cleaning the walkways, beach stairs, and sites. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

All inclusive campground designed for families. If looking for quiet getaway at the Beach this not for you. Loud music fireworks and kids driving golf carts. Not much Adult time other than 1 hour at the indoor pool. Beach is right there. Very crowded. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This is an all inclusive campground but it can get pricey eating at the food trucks. About 4 and then the ice cream shoppe and couple other spots to buy meals. Rent golf cars, Easy beach access, 1 heated pool 1 regular pool and more.

Overall Rating:

Generally a nice campground with many amenities and most are included with your wristband. It is a Christian based facility and doesn't permit open alcohol consumption. Many campers did drink on their on site though. The beach is public and run by Horry County. There is a fairly high dune between the campground and the beach with steps up, over and down the dune every 2 blocks of the campground. Wagons, carts, etc need to be carried up and down. The beach was clean and not overly crowded even on the weekend. There were lots of kids and teenagers at Lakewood and all that we had contact with were very respectful and courteous. During the 8 days there were no loud parties or rowdiness among them or adults. One thing to be aware of is this place is full of golf carts and there is even a parade every night. Generally they must be rented from Lakewood. The wristbands can be loaded with cash so you and your kids do not need to carry any money. You can also see at what time and where they spent their money. The "Hi-Steppin' Country " musical performance was very good and worth seeing during your visit. If you are staying at Lakewood it is free. The site we had was about 30' X 50' with zero shade which seemed typical of those near the beach. There were lots of large 5th wheel trailers with the tow vehicles parked along the roads. This can make it tight to get large RVs in and out of the sites. The electric, water, sewer and cable all worked well. The WIFI was almost useless. We contacted them and they put a box(repeater) in our RV but it did not help and we ended up using our phones as a hot spot. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Great RV park. I've been staying here since I was a kid and still love it today. The only criticism I will give is security should make sure people on carts keep their radio down some. I'm all about having a good time but the entire park doesn't need to listen to the music on golf carts. They can play their music but just not so loud. The ice cream is great. Our granddaughter (4) LOVED the splash pool. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is my favorite Myrtle Beach park. Some issues this time around: fireworks every night (against the rules), late night loud music from park cruisers and underage golf cart drivers. Front of Park: store has been renovated, open and airy, and is fairly well stocked for essentials. Has ice cream parlor and limited menu food. Free bike loan. Miniature golf. Beach front: sub shop, another ice cream parlor (my kind of place: TWO ice cream parlors), trailer with fish/shrimp dinner Wednesday and Friday, activities for adults and kids, indoor pool, water park, basketball area. Fresh produce stand. No personal golf carts except those of "houses". Rental carts available. Decent wifi. Good power and cable connections. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Our family loves Lakewood! Great pools, slides, beach access and activities. Very family friendly. Close quarters, but what do you expect at an ocean front mega campground. Better have your game face on if your backing in a long rig on a crowded day!!! We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The Lakewood RV Park Has the potential to be a 5 star RV Resort. The park has great amenities and numerous options for family fun. Unfortunately, they do not seem to be able to keep up with the maintenance of the RV sites. The sites were not level, many of the site markers were knocked down and not repaired during our 4 day stay. We were unfortunate to have a full day of rain and many of the sites were completely flooded due to poor drainage and uneven sites. The security patrolling at night was negligible. Loud music and cruising of golf carts were allowed to well after the 10:00 quiet time. Fireworks which were prohibited, were going off until midnight most of the nights. Don't have rules if you are not going to enforce them. With the prices charged for RV sites, it is too bad that they do not invest that into maintaining and improving the sites. If we return to the area, we will try one of the other facilities in the area. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

This park offers many amenities. However, we stayed here 5 nights and were not informed at check in that the on-site store was closed due to construction. Also, because of the same construction, the laundromat was closed during the day. This should have been disclosed at check in, especially since I specifically asked if there's anything we should know during our stay. I feel that the price was high and should have been reduced because these amentities were not available. We did use the laundromat at night when it was open, and found that the washers and dryers are old and dirty. It's obvious that no one takes care of the machines or even cleans them. Many of the machines were out of order and not available for use. We did use the water park and the beach access, which were the best amenities in this RV park. We tried to use the indoor hot tub, but that was broken too. RVers should be aware that this is a Christian campground, with worship on site, crosses, and bible quotes throughout the park. It didn't offend us, since we are Christians, but some folks may not care for that. It would have been nice to have a shuttle service to Broadway at the Beach or to the Boardwalk, but to my knowledge, that wasn't available. There are many golf carts driven throughout the park, but most of them do not abide by the speed limit posted on the park. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

We were evacuated from Cape Hatteras during the blackout. We are normally Ocean Lakes campers but they were full and Lakewood had a spot at the last minute. The spot was 1 away from the beach but very narrow. I felt like I was in a hallway. We didn't much care for Lakewood but our opinion changed. The golf cart "culture" is very different. No parade to speak of. Most people walk or ride a bike. There was never a hard time to get a parking spot at the pool. The times we were at the pool, it was never crowded. The overall feeling of the park is geared toward beach activity. A little like the parks in Hatteras. There were no drunken parties near us. As tight as the spots were everyone remained in their area and kept the noise down. The roads around the park are tight and dark. It's hard to see the walkers and riders without some type of reflective material or light. The staff we interacted with seemed bored and uninterested. We would stay again but it wouldn't be our first choice. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Our first stay at Lakewood. We camped with our 8 yr old niece and 13 yr old nephew. We went with my husband's family. We had a very nice site located very close to the water park, arcade/ ice cream shop and beach. We rented a golf cart for the 6 days we were there because the resort is very large. They had every thing you could need for a fun vacation. The service was great. No issues with power/water/sewer. Our AC ran all week with no issues, which was great considering the temps were in the high 90s all week. The trading post was well stocked and all the workers were very friendly. Each night they had a golf cart parade, which the kids loved. We enjoyed it so much, we've already made reservations for next year. The only down side was they offered pizza delivery, which apparently they no longer do. Our nephew was excited to have the pizza delivered to the campsite since he doesn't have the option where he lives at his house, but he enjoyed the golf cart ride over to pick it up, so that was even. The only down side is that they don't allow you to rent specific sites. You can reserve an area and then you don't find out your site number until you check in. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't over pack on the food. Lakewood offers so many different options for dining (breakfast, lunch, dinner) that anything you might need is offered there. We brought home almost 75% of the food we originally packed. Get to the beach early, it gets crowded by noon. Rent a golf cart!

Trees overhang the roads with vehicles parked in the way. When we tried to navigate through the small area, the tree riped up top of our camper. Other people had the same problem but they where able to clear because they didn't have a 5th wheel.

Enforce parking rules, enforce the speed(the golf carts go way to fast) also your quiet time isn't enforced. Very very noisy. They pack people in like sardines. My parents use to camp with my daughter 30 yrs ago,so I wanted to bring my grandson for the memory. Boy what a mistake. Never again will I come back. They didnt even offer to pay for the repair for our camper because of the violators in their camp ground. Because they don't enforce the parking rules. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at this park three years ago and when we went back this year for our family vacation, we really wondered why we haven't been coming back. The pool and water park slides are great. Nice lazy river, excellent beach access. The gift shop is a great size and everything is really reasonably priced. My son didn't pack swim trunks and I was able to get him a pair of board shorts in the shop for $12. This was our first visit over the fourth of July and we decided to keep coming back over this week. There are great 4th activities, including an awesome parade. The golf carts tend to fly through the campground, but that's probably true at any large campground. I really recommend block 1, directly across from beach access. We were 8 sites back from the beach on 14th street and it was perfect. We were a bit of a hike from the pool, so I think next year we will request around 10th street. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

For pizza, check out Ultimate California Pizza or Surfside pizza. The Fish trailer located in the campground is awesome. It's all you can eat for $10, $6 for kids, and includes a drink. It's only open certain days, though.
